- Q:what kind of sofa material is good to the family has dogs? leather? ?
- I love my microfiber couch - I have three dogs and all you have to do is vacuuum it and wipe it down - it is pretty much stain resistant if you have it treated too.Plus you can spot clean it easily
- Q:Matisse does not have a UTI as he does this once every two weeks or so. He used to do this alot but we changed his litter and it got better. He has two litter boxes that are fully cleaned every monday and thursday. He is neutered and an only kitty. No major changes in his world recently.He just peed all over our sofa again. We put him outside on the patio for the evening but I am looking for ways to stop him. Hubby wants to get a water bottle and spritz the little guy to teach him to not step onto the sofas at all. I am not against that but am wondering if any of the Feli-away sprays work? Or if there is some other reason cats do this?
- First of all, I think the water spritzing is inhumane. Physical punishment should never be used on cats or dogs. The best thing to do is to protect your furniture. I have two cats and one of them sometimes pees on the sofa. I bought a SureFit Quick Cover Furniture Saver for Sofa from Sears on-line shopping, slip-resistant backing, waterproof polyurethane barrier, microsuede front, polyester fill, machine washable, and looks and feels great. It nice enough for company, or you can just temporarily remove it while you have company.

- They all have their pros and cons. Leather can be wiped clean, but it is cold to sit on and can stick to bare skin if it is warm. Also, it is very hard to repair. Fabric can stain, but it can also be scotchguarded. If the sofa is slip covered, you can buy a new slipcover rather than a new sofa. Microfiber and Micro suede are basically the same fiber just finished a little different. It is stain resistant but can pill, particularly on cheaper sofas.

- There are many things that go into affect in a leather sofa or sofa. 1. Construction- 5/4 thick solid oak or maple hardwood frame is the industry premium. All interior joints of the frame will be glued screwed and corner blocked. This is for extra reinforcement. The spring construction is very important and its gauge (meaning desity of metal) The bests spring construction is a coil spring like eight way hand tied or any other coil spring system. Note some coil springs have low wire gauge get what you pay for. No sag or sinous spring is also used and will do good as along as the gauge is good and frame is sturdy. Feel the frame and around for sturdness. 2. Leather quality. Alot of companies might use a cheaper leather or not a true leather. Top grain is the only way to go. Top grain needs to be at least on the seat, back and arms of the sofa. A company can use split leather on the side and back cause it will not be used, but it will wear evenly. 3. Why did your friends leather fade. Well did they take care of it? Was it a naturally characteristic of the leather? Remember you buy leather shoes and purses they too can fade. 4 Who is the manufacture and 1200 seems really affordable for a leather sofa. Remember a pair of leather boots can cost $300 dollars and a leather sofa has 10 times more stitching, padding and leather so 1200 is not very expensive. In life you get what you pay for in everything. 5 ask around the more expensive leathers sometimes might not work for you cause they are usually higher maintence. 6 Email the sofa I might be able tell a little more about the company. - Q:I had a sofa specially made and a rocking chair covered, it cost me approx ?1,200.The company told me the sofa would last a lifetime, now only after 4 years the sofa is has holes in it where the material has worn away, it only has very light use, and my partner is the only person that sits on it,The rocking chair has had no use at all as it is in my spare room, so whether that will wear in the same way I do not know.I phone the company, and he said he would part re-cover the where it has gone in holes, but the problem is I do not want this as I am sure it will wear away again in a couple of years.Does anyone know my rights in this matter?
- Frankly, I don't think you are going to get anywhere with this. I would try to see if they would give you some money instead of recovering the sofa. If you get it recovered, the recovered parts won't match the rest of it. I'd see if they will give you a cash settlement. These kinds of warranties are really not worth much! Ask for cash!

- You can try using Dawn dishwashing liquid or a 1/2 and 1/2 water and vinegar solution. Put a small amount Dawn or vinegar solution on a soft cloth or very soft-bristled brush and use a circular motion to work the cleaner into the spot. Use a soft damp cloth or damp paper towels to clean up the residue by blotting. Or, if that doesn't work, I would get a brown paper bag and an iron. Place the bag over the vaseline and use the iron on its lowest setting to iron over the spot. The vaseline will end up melting onto the bag. You may need to do it a couple times if the spot is very big or messy. Good luck!

- been sitting on this for a few hours and you have some good answers here but will add mine, sorry if i repeat any. here goes - a bright brick red was the first that popped into my head and that was before i read all your question. light red. pink. dark or light b lue. ochre (orangey). light or dark orange. bright or apple green. lime. cream/beige/white bright or pale (yellowy). all shades of purple/mauve/lilac. all with or without brown/beige/cream stripes. again you could go with a floral pattern but i personally think solid or striped curtain would be best. in fact any colour you can think (except black) would be suitable. a lot will depend on the other furnishing in the room and whether you want to make it darker or lighter. try going to a number of shops and just browsing around and you may find it will hit you in the eye. good luck and have fun, i did thanks.
