- Q: So my mom is giving me her three person sofa. I'm looking for a website that sells covers for STRAIGHT ARM furniture! Its an ugly green tan color that has yellow gold embroidery(obviously really old). Every time I look up furniture covers, its like all they make is covers for furniture with these rounded arms. My sofa I'm about to inherit doesn't have rounded arms! Uhh the lack of diversity in soda covers is killing me! - sew all hem of the fabric based on the size of your arm rest, just insert it between the armrest and cushion. let the other side flow. you can sew fringes in the other side.
- Q: I want to entirely paint a Sofa and Wingback........ and im scared lol !!!....?Ok.... I have a old Sofa and matching chairs. Ive recently had a large patio cover installed over the rear of my house and would like to use the furniture...... and make it like a living room in the backyard... I'm thinking of painting the sofa and chairs and would like to use a paint that will make the furniture somewhat weatherproof as well..... The furniture will be under the very large patio cover..... so it will not be rained on at all, but will be exposed to humidity, condensation, ...... and pool water on the tushy..lol Sooo.... Is there a paint that i can use to paint the sofa and chairs entirely .... something that would give the furniture a waterproofing....rubber like coating?? thus changing indoor furniture .... to outdoor furniture.....Thank for reading....
- The table: no problem. Sand it and use exterior latex paint in your color of choice. The chairs and sofa: problem. You are never going to keep the moisture out of the stuffing/padding no matter what you apply to the upholstery. You might be able to use them outdoors for one season but after that they are going to be moldy. If you can find a humidity resistant stuffing material I would suggest stripping the chair and sofa to the frame, re-stuff them and re-upholster in one of the newer weather resistant fabrics. I would waterproof the wood frame first and paint any exposed wood with exterior latex. Good luck!
- Q: I recently purchased a microfiber sofa and declined the fabric protection - I guess that's the first mistake. I've had the sofa a little over a week and there are four-five huge blue/black spots on the sofa!!! No one has spilled anything and we can not figure out where these stains are coming from. For instance, I fell asleep on the sofa last night and when I woke up this morning, there was a huge blue spot under the space I sat. I was wearing grey pants so I can't figure out where the blue is coming from. There was also a spot under where my feet were and I was wearing white socks so its not my clothing fabric bleeding onto the sofa. I am at a complete loss! - I would immediately contact the store where you purchased your sofa. It sounds like perhaps they have covered a black lining with your microfiber and when you put pressure on it or perhaps perspire a little the black is bleeding through. In any event I would advise them you wish to have the sofa replaced. Money is too hard to come by!

- I have four leather sofas, one in the living room, one in the master bedroom, one in my office, and one in the great room. As long as you buy top quality, whole hide (not patched together strips), leather is far more sturdy than cloth - for animals and humans. I do put throws on the sofas, especially over the backs because I have 6 dachshunds and they all like to perch on the back of the sofas - and all over them in general. Haven't had any damage from dogs yet.

- Sofa beds are more expensive. As to comfort level, that's hard to judge. I slept on a sofa bed for several years...the first few years weren't bad, but eventually the bar across the middle became more pronounced and started bothering my back. I've never slept on a futon bed, but I believe they might be more comfortable...no springs on a futon. Decent sofabes $400.00+ $Futon 250.00

- There are leather dyes out there. I don't know if they'll work on your sofa, but you can try one in an inconspicuous spot on the sofa, see if it works. Let it dry thoroughly, then *also* check it to see it rubs off. You can find leather dyes at really good art stores, like Pearl Paint. You can also call in a pro and have them do this, if you've got the cash. In the future, use leather cleaner for your sofa. Leather cleaner is more of an oil/moisturizer. It won't dry out the leather, and it won't remove the color.

- Honestly, if you;ve let him on the sofa for so long this may be a hard habit to break. Start by removing him from the sofa and using the command off. Eventually he'll start getting off on his own. That said, I have a friend who tired this, but the dog still sleeps on the sofa when she's not there or asleep.
