Q: Last year you could sit anywhere you wanted to read and whatnot, now they yell at you if you dont sit in a chair. what is the point of this ?: Someone could trip over someone who is sitting on the floor, they could be a hazard if a fire started and people had to get out quickly or people sitting on the floor could get in the way. I help out in a library and sometimes it can be hard to get to the shelves if people are sitting around everywhere. Also, you can't keep an eye on what people are doing. I know not everyone is going to break the rules, but some do. We kept finding food squished in between the shelves when eating around the books isn't allowed.

Some are just screws and others are screws with a handle attached. If that is not the problem wait till morning and go have a look at a store for a new chair. Without looking at it. It is going to be a problem to fix.

Q: I am re-doing my dining room chairs and would like to know if 5lb. density 2.5 in. memory foam would be a good choice or should I just go with medium firm 2.5 in. regular foam. I am going to wrap the foam in batting before I put the fabric on the chairs. Also would 2.5 inches be thick enouph or should I do 3 inches? Please give details as to which foam would be better and why.: I would stay away from memory foam for dining chairs. Folks move around, get up, sit down too often for there to be any benefit to having memory foam on a chair, and I can see where it would be a major PITA (literally!) to not be able to turn in my chair comfortably or to have to REsit myself in the molded-to-my-bottom cushion after getting up to get more rolls, or whatever. I'd use regular medium density foam and I wouldn't use more than a 2 slab of it... especially if you're going to wrap the foam w/ batting before applying fabric. If the cushion is too high/bulky you risk folks having to dangle their legs off the edge of the chair (think of Lily Tomlin's Edith Ann sitting in the big chair), or having an uncomfortable pressure point at the back of their thighs that could cause legs to go numb. Q: I have a dilema for chair coverings.... All the chairs within the venue are different colors... The table coverings are going to be white burlap with pale yellow runners. My centerpieces are going to be cut aspen trees hollowed out and sunflowers in them. It is a rustic simple wedding.: The backs of the chairs can be wrapped nicely using the rolls of plastic tablecloth that you buy at the hobby shop or party store. You have to have someone with artistic flair to tie beautiful bows using the colors you like and layering them. As for the seats, they won't really matter as much of the time, folks will be sitting in them and you can't see the seats until you sit down. You make bows that drape down the back so you can't see the seat unless you're pulling out the chair to sit down on it. The plastic tablecloth is inexpensive and if you have the right person doing this - it will look like cloth. You could even use floral picks as a part of it.
