Q:i have these wooden chairs that have dried peeling paint i need to get off so i can stain them. there is no varnish or stain i can see, just old paint. Is sanding it off the best way to go? are there sanders small enough to get into the corners and grooves? i am pregnant, so chemicals are not an option. thank you!

For the corners and grooves just fold the sand paper and rub into the corners. They do have citrus based strippers that you can use afetr most of the sanding is done. Just apply and scrub with an old toothbrush. Use steel wool to remove and wipe the piece down with isoproyl alcohol before refinishing.

Q:So I bought a Gaming Chair and I have a all the cords but Power Cord. It is a Audio Responce Technology chair but one of the older ones and the part where you control the sound from chair is a 52000 Sound Rocker and if you could tell me what type of power cord that would be great and Thanks in Advance.

You mean you brought a gaming chair WITHOUT the Power cord? There should be a label on the chair (probably under the seat) that tells you what make it is - if its a older model, they may not make power cords for it any more - especially if its a discontinued model and there is two, three or more models that have come after it. A quick look around Ebay shows that there is nothing there - so you're best bet would probably be to go to an indepent game store (NOT A CHAIN). Independent Game stores are a great source of information (as well as deals) and whilst they may not be able to source you one directly, they may have a regular customer, who has a friend who has a spare one. Certainly my experiences in my local independent game store - is that information is traded freely between owner and regular customers - if the shop itself can't help you directly - they ask their regular customers if they have/can source a certain item and if they'd be willing to sell it to them for resell.

How much are you willing to spend? To get a quality set that will last for years, I would check out Pier 1 Imports, Crate and Barrel, or Pottery Barn. Most of these stores are now marking off patio furniture, as the season is ending. Even so, the shipping prices can get ya if you have to shop online at these stores. If you're a bit strapped for cash, check Wal-Mart (though they might be short in the outdoor furniture department past the month of July). If you're lucky, you may be able to find a set at an estate or garage sale (where my family was able to find an outdoor table and chair set). Also, there's a secondhand furniture store in my area, so if there is a similar outfit near you, I'd give it a look; you never know what you might be able to find.

Q:So I'm only in middle school, but I'm already studying college work from my private teacher. I skipped a whole wad of grades in music. I'm studying some serious stuff. Whenever I perform in front of people, I mess up. I practice about four hours everyday, and EVERY SINGLE TIME it's perfect. But I perform just once in front of people and I mess up. I don't think I'm scared about performing in front of people; I'm just worried about my placement. Anyway, my teacher told me I'm part of the 1/10 of the people he's ever taught, and that 1/10 is all the extremely gifted kids. I also play the piano, longer than I have than being a percussionist, and I have also skipped grades. Recently because of me being nervous, I got second chair. I am a complete music freak, so second chair is extremely horrible for me. And I’m even more depressed now. I’m already depressed about other things, and this is making it even worse. So now I feel extremely stupid for getting second chair…so…what should I do??!

Meico: Is it possible your musical ability has outpaced your public performance skills, which may be more typical for your age? When I was your age I was talented beyond my years, but in certain situations my body showed signs of nervousness. I had trouble playing guitar standing up because my knees would shake. This would only happen when the audience was very attentive. I guess I felt a bit under the microscope. In more casual situations my nervousness was mostly excitement, and I could deal with it. Here are two suggestions that might prove useful. When you're preparing for an audition, sit back in a comfortable chair in a quiet room. Close your eyes and imagine yourself performing. Pay attention to your muscles. Don't allow yourself to tense up. You're performing at your best, the listeners are hearing your best, and, although you may be a bit nervous, it is only impacting your performance in a positive way. Practice your pieces in your mind this way and - very important - accept that you are indeed this kind of performer, one who does well under pressure. If possible, find a critical audience or listener to perform for as a preparation for an audition. Think about it: it's easy to practice the music, but how do you practice being in front of an adjudicator? You might just have to carry on until you've auditioned enough times and gained enough experience to overcome the problem. Good luck.

Number choices 2 and 4 should not be used because hygienically they are not easy to clean because of the texture. If choice number 3 was a decent width and heavier legs to accomidate all body types/sizes then I would go with that one just because personally I like the look of it and it would probably be comfortable. Repairs would not be easy...would have to be reupholstered. Number choice 1 is smooth (great for cleaning), seems to have a wide enough seat to accomidate most, looks sturdy enough and probably would stack for extra storage convenience. This one could be repaired easily/less expensive. This chair looks great (style), but does not have the comfort of number choice 3. Your choices will depend on the type of restaurant it is being placed in. None of these might be appropriate. They are varied quite a bit for choices.
