Which one of these would be the best?: Hi there, I work as a technician on vacuum cleaners and of the ones you have selected I would definately pick the bissell. It will cost less to maintain when compared to the hoovers and is much better quality than the shark one. You will also find it will need less tlc than other competitors. The dyson is a slightly lighter machine to use but in all honesty it's not that much better than the bissell. Hope this helps :)

Q: Who makes the best vacuum cleaner - DYSON or ORECK? and why?: Dyson! I work with a cleaning company they use Oreck. My boss swears by it but I hate it! It's loud annoying. But my Dyson is great. it never loses suction it picks up everything. Oh when it is running it's so quiet that you can still hear the radio or TV! I would never buy anything else.

Q: How can I fix a vacuum that will not turn off. I vacuumed up a piece of clothing and pulled it out of the bottom, ever since the only way to turn the vacuum off is via the plug. Any suggestions?: Adam is correct to an extent, however, you shouldn't need a soldering iron to replace the switch on any vacuum made in the last 30 years, they all have push on terminals. Depending on where and how the switch is located in the unit, it could be a fairly simple take the handle apart with a couple of screws, swap out the switch and be done, or you may find that you have to disassemble the main body to get to the actual switch. Many models now use an actuating rod that moves the actual switch located further down in the body of the machine. Unforturnately you've given us no information whatsoever, concerning a make, model or type of vacuum, so it's going to be very difficult to help much more.

I bought one for $250 (plus tax) and it is amazing! I have two cats, one medium and one long haired. You would not believe how much hair it picks up each time I vacuum. I vacuumed my apartments popcorn ceiling because it catches the cat's hair and it was like I pulled 4 live cats of the the ceiliing. The hose is nice and long and there are a minimal amount of attachments. The best thing of all is that it is half the price of the Dyson. It also has a HEPA filtration system. It's fantastic and does just a good of a job as a Dyson, maybe better. If you search for Bissell Healthy Home you should find sites that sell it and there should be reviews about it as well. It's great and I love it.
