Q: We are ordering office chairs but our desk height is 33 3/4 in. from floor to counter top. Which is too high for our current chairs. I have pain in my elbows and wrists from typing with my arms bent up to the desk. I don't know how chair height is measured so I can't tell what height to order for proper height. Thanks for any help.

Q: i was sitting in my chair checking my email and the chair jerked to the right and now the seat is cooked and its weird becuase when i straightened it out by hand i sat back down and then ittilted to the otherside and now it tilts so bad it almost dumps me out what broke and what can i do to fix it? no i dont weigh much just 150 and the chair is old. so can i save it or just buy a new one, becuase this one is leather and i like it T_T
Check around the chair as there are parts that have become loose and have fallen to the floor. Some are just screws and others are screws with a handle attached. If that is not the problem wait till morning and go have a look at a store for a new chair. Without looking at it. It is going to be a problem to fix.
Q: I wanted to rent chair covers and sashes, but at $4.50 a chair for 200 people I think it's just ridiculous for the cost! These are the chairs my hall provides, any cheaper ways to decorate it so that is still looks nice? The chairs provided are gray...but my colors are Black and light pink.Pictures would be great if you have them! Thanks.
You could buy a big spool of light pink fabric or tulle and make your own sashes. the sashes could just go on the chairs as they are.. I'd hold off on the chair cover if the hall won't provide them, you could do a lot more with a thousand dollars that would have much more of an impact!
Q: I have a channel-back chair that I got from my grandmother a few years ago. It belonged to my great grandmother. I love the chair. It's comfortable and has a great shape.Trouble is, it's a hideous shade of goldish pea soup green in a gross scratchy fabric. I want to reupholster it.
Is there an upholstery class in adult ed or through the extension office near you? You might also look up Singer's Simply Upholstery book for some basic information.
Q: I have 4 chairs I would like to reupholster with microfiber material. They have upholstery on their seats and backs. Is it expensive to do it? How can I do it? PLease help me out.
Go okorder and get a book, it is complex.
Q: There seems to be a lingering perception that old folks prefer to relax comfortably in wood rocking chairs, a perception that is perhaps reinforced in films and television shows that depict the characters of older people enjoying their wood rocking chairs. All four of my grandparents and both of my parents prefer the comfort of overstuffed reclining chairs during the final decades of their lives. My siblings and I (we're in our 60's and 70's) also enjoy the comfort of reclining chairs.
When I was in my 20s, I really liked wood rocking chairs, just seemed to make me relax (sort of like those colicky kids who finally fall asleep if you drive them around in the car). But since then, I prefer my leather office chair (no arms) that swivels and rolls around, not that there's much of anywhere to roll to inside the apartment. I actually get a little dizzy rocking in a rocking chair now, something about my sinuses is way off and the rocking seems to imbalance things in my head. And I notice it's the younger adults who seek out the rocking chair in my sister's house, but maybe that's because they pile all their lap blankets/throws on that chair. Do you think that the slight muscle contraction needed to keep the chair rocking actually helps people's leg circulation and such?
Q: My grandma passed away and she had these chairs. She only bought 4 and I would like to buy two more to use with my dining room table. She never mentioned where she bought them and there is only a warranty
if I were you, I'd get two matching armed chairs for the 'king and queen' at the ends of the table and use these on the side of the table..... and I'd make the two chairs be along simpler lines, but still beautiful on their own... like maybe in leather on wingbacks... or a lovely damask on parson's chairs skirted to the floor....
Q: It still hurts in the spot where I hit the chair. Wondered if this has happened to anyone else? I am hoping it didn't harm the baby. Don't want to rush and call the doc or anything just yet, but what signs should I look for? Obviously if I start bleeding or something crazy I will go straight to the er, but I am just concerned that I might have just hurt my little one!
If the pain continues in the morning, I'd consult your doctor. I don't think the baby is harmed, but I am no doctor.
Q: I'm not really good at physics and if someone can explain me this with easy words, would be great. As you sit on a chair, does the chair an upward force against your butt? how much force does it exert? In what direction?
Quite Simply: Yes, the chair exerts a reactive force. Reactive forces 'react' to other forces being exerted on an object. In this case, gravity. If there was no gravity, there would be no force exerted by the chair. The reactive force the chair exerts is known as a normal force, normal meaning the direction of the force is perpendicular to the surface. With a chair parallel to the ground, yes, the force exerted by the chair would be upward, and equal to your weight.
Q: how can u make a cardboard chair. its for my physics class and i havent really given any thought into how to make one! and my teacher cant help us! so im just asking to see if anyone has some great ideas! thanks :]
Try oberving other chairs and their designs * Metal chairs work because part of the back feet hold the back * Plactic chairs have L shapes Legs, kinds balancing the weight * Other plastic chairs have 2 L shapes in the legs....I can't explain without a picture. * Another method is instead of using four legs, it only uses two sides. From side view, they look like rectangles kinda leaning to the back. From the front, they look like a square being pressed down ( Big down, small up) My advice - Observe other designs.
