- Hi, the George works, but the grill mark things can really dent your sandwiches - depending on the bread and fillings, plus you may want to shore it up to make it level... It is best for thin sandwiches since it doesn't close like a panini press - it closes on an angle instead of flatly on top (look at pictures of each online or at the store to see what I mean if that is unclear). Try your non-stick skillet with whatever fat (butter, oil, etc...) and use a weight on top - a small cutting board or small pan or plate on top of the sandwich with some weight on it - cans are handy, just watch the heating of the cans. - Q:I was just wondering [roughly] how many mugs of coffee an 8-cup French press would make. I would only be needing it for myself in the morning but I fear a 3-cup might be cutting it close and even lack versatility.
- A french press is measured in espresso-sized (2oz) shots. If you have a 12-16oz mug, a 8-cup press will be perfect. I use a 12-cup press since my mug is 20oz. You can always fill it with less coffee water, so getting a bigger pot isn't bad.

- to hit the glutes with the leg press you want to use a shoulder width stance and use a full range of motion. basically you want to lower the weight as far down as possible.

- No. Bench press uses your chest and triceps. Biceps are not used. The best way to improve your bench press is by doing bench presses. Do 3 sets, 4 to 6 reps per set. If you can do more than 6 reps, increase the weight. If you can't do 4 reps, lower the weight. Do this 3 days a week, each time trying to do 1 extra rep than the last time, or 5 extra pounds than the last time.

- Q:Hi!I have started a strength training routine in the mornings. Unfortunately it is hard to find anyone I know to come with and spot me that early in the morning. So what is a good replacement exercise for the bench press to work the chest in case I have no one to spot me. I guess preferably something using a machine that I won't need that spotter for.I know that pushups with the hands out wide work the chest, but I have no idea if they are effective enough to replace the bench press. - The bench press is the most effective chest exercise there is. I strongly recommend you stick to it. I do it without a spot. When you do the reps, on the rep where your upward momentum slows then this is the rep on which you stop. In my expereince for example, if I do five reps at roughly the same pace for each then on the way up on the sixth I slow down then I won't attempt a seventh.
- Q:I just want to know if I can cause unconsciousness by pressing common carotid arteries. If it is possible (I heard it is), where should I press it, how much and how long? Is it dangerous?Than I do martial arts and our instructor says that there is a chop headed to the neck, which causes unconsciousness in a moment. Do it cause nerves, or common carotid artery? - Pressing on the Carotid arteries is dangerous because it can stop, or fatally slow someones pulse. As an emergency department worker, I have seen nurses and doctors push on the Carotid arteries of patients whose pulse was in the 200+, causing their pulse to drop to 100 or 90 sometimes lower. I would not recommend doing it!
