- Are you talking about ... Cyclohexane ? There is the more stable Chair, and less stable, Boat configuration. You need to see a diagram; there is one on the website The 6 vertexed ring does not conform to the shape of a perfect hexagon. The conformation of a flat 2D planar hexagon has considerable angle strain because its bonds are not 109.5 degrees; the torsional strain would also be considerable due to all eclipsed bonds. Therefore, to reduce torsional strain, cyclohexane adopts a three-dimensional structure known as the chair conformation. The new conformation puts the carbons at an angle of 109.5°. Half of the hydrogens are in the plane of the ring (equatorial) while the other half are perpendicular to the plane (axial). This conformation allows for the most stable structure of cyclohexane. Another conformation of cyclohexane exists, known as boat conformation, but it interconverts to the slightly more stable chair formation.
- Q: Okay, so I need to find a high chair that I can buy two of that won't take up much room (my dining space is small). They don't need to be foldable because we are doing foster care and we'll have a couple babies. So they will be used very often. I need them to be tough and hold up. - I have used my booster seat from walmart since my kids have been able to eat in a high chair. Its blue, red and green. It straps onto a chair and its plastic and comes apart to clean easily. It has the buckle so they cant get out too. I love it and it doesn't take up alot of space.

- The term 'chair' regarding a fireplace is new to me, and I don't know where you are from. In the US, look up 'fireplaces' (or possibly chimneys) in the yellow pages. Real fireplaces--made of firebrick, not an insert--are a lost art, so a typical bricklayer (mason) may not know how to do them.
- Q: I've been looking for one of these chairs for a few weeks now. My grandmother had one, but she sold it. I was afraid of it at the time so I didn't do anything to convince her otherwise, but I have come to realize how much I want one of these strange pieces for myself. I have been un able to find one any information would be helpful. The chairs were made between 1880 and 1910. They usually have a mahogany finish and are hard to miss. Please help me.

- I can't help but want to test and see if it would break or not. Personally, I don't think it could be done by most people unless they were insanely angry at their target of furniturey smackdown. And even then, the chair would probably win against someone's head.

- Very interesting but misplaced question Prouduction of Steel means Steel is the output, iron ore and Coking coal are inputs. So, Production function of a senate Committee Chairman would mean A senate Committee Chairman as the ouput. Inputs are selectors/ voters who selct the Chair and the number and nature of Committes. These determine how many chairs would there be and who whould be chairing each of them. But if you think the brain and activity of Chair in the Committee as inputs along withtheir burecratic assistants and computer time and the output is in terms of their findings/ reports/ recommendations. Mostly garbage in, garbage output. The retuns to scale are dectreasing if we consider large number of Committes, but increasin returns as the senators get to understand better as they go through the deliberations.

- That's a kool old rolling chair . . probably used for someone who worked at a table most of the time, or like a doctor's or dentist chair . .that the doctor sat in as it swiveled and reclined as well and rolled. . . .in any event . . unless you come up with an answer as to exactly what it's use was . . I'd say $150 for any old utility piece of furniture in nice condition. You could probably do better if you were to sell it as a modern or industrialist piece. Have you looked around underneath for any labels or markings?
