- Hard and almost impossible to say. Places like that will buy pallet loads of sometimes discontinued tiles , factory over runs and slower sellers. Some times its factory 2nds or ( builders grades) . Any brand name they might buy is often private labeled just for them . Sometimes looking at the tile I can tell or sometimes the box style can give it away . There are on occasion markings or initials on tile backing that will give away the tile manufacturer. - Q:Having done some work in the bathroom we would like to reuse some of the tiles we took of which arent broken, does anybody have any suggestions as to how we remove the adhesive and grout so that they can be reused?
- Just get new tile, its worth it in the long run!!! Your time is worth something

- Using TSP (trisodiumphosphate), thoroughly clean the tile surface. The TSP will clean and degrease the tiles. At Home Depot there is paint that you can buy that is designed specifically for painting over ceramic tile. I've used it and it does work, but make sure you open some windows and have some cross ventilation going as it smells very strong and the fumes can cause problems. It is supposed to be self leveling, but being as you are working on a vertical surface, it's best to use thin coats of the paint. If you use any other type of paint, it will come off when you go to clean it.

- If you can get one tile to carry as your sample, then check stores that sell tiles. Doubt you will find them. Best bet is take sample to store that specializes in tile; they MAY have outdated tiles in their warehouse. Dig out some from area that could use contrast colors. Use pulled up ones (extra work to 'clean' back of old tiles) and replace the cracked/broken tiles. Use contrasting tiles around visible outside wall border or center of area. Now have 2 different colors but not replacing entire floor.

- This sounds kinda strange as tiles are normally made of ceramics, but if it is a vinly tile you can glue them back on with a vinly glue like Kwik grip. The area just needs to be dry before appling the glue and the glue must be applied on both the wall and tile. Let the glue become tacky ( normally takes around 5 minutes) then just stick it back on. You could use the shower about an hour later.
