Q: Are there any health risks associated with solar panels?
Overall, solar panels do not pose significant health risks. They are a safe and environmentally friendly source of energy. However, some minor risks can include potential electrical hazards during installation or maintenance, such as electric shock or fire. Additionally, the production and disposal of solar panels may involve certain toxic materials, although efforts are made to minimize their impact. Nonetheless, these risks are generally well-managed and can be mitigated through proper installation, maintenance, and adherence to safety guidelines.
Q: what are solar panels?
Solar Panels collect solar energy from the sun and then solar energy is used to produce electricity.
Q: . Does it really only cost $200 in contrast to $5000 or more?2. How much would it cost to build panels that would energize an entire average household? (washer, dryer, water heater, lights, fans, a/c)3. Is there a place to get the info on how to make them for free instead of paying E4E?4. Are the professional solar panels better? more efficient? 5. Will the electric company in So. Cal. really pay you?6. Do you have to be certified to do this professionally? or an electrician? If so what schools teach it?7. Would wind generators be of any use in So. Cal.? I mean don't you really need to get the fan spinning to get energy?8. Are there any extra unseen costs? (tools, energy converter, ect)9. How much is it to get an electrician to hook you to the grid?0. Is it better to hook to batteries or the grid? Pros, cons, why?
Question# 5: Any state in the USA is entitle to a Federal Tax credit on their Income tax returns. Click on the source for details.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on parking lots or garages?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on parking lots or garages. In fact, these areas are often ideal for solar panel installations due to the large open spaces and unobstructed sunlight exposure. Installing solar panels on parking lots or garages can help generate clean and renewable energy, reduce electricity costs, and provide shade for parked vehicles.
Q: Can solar panels be used for powering a museum or cultural institution?
Yes, solar panels can certainly be used to power a museum or cultural institution. Solar panels are a sustainable and renewable energy source that can generate electricity by converting sunlight into usable power. By installing solar panels on the rooftops or surrounding areas of a museum or cultural institution, it is possible to produce clean energy that can be used to power the building's lighting, heating, cooling systems, and other electrical needs. This not only reduces the institution's carbon footprint but also helps save on energy costs in the long run. Additionally, solar panels can serve as a visible symbol of the institution's commitment to environmental sustainability, inspiring visitors and the community to embrace renewable energy solutions.
Q: im trying to run my house with with solar panels, is it possible? if so please let me know how....i have a 6000 w inverter
I ve been researching this myself! I need appr 6000w per year. I live in MN which a zone 5 on a solar map (4.4 hrs of sunlight per day). I would need 56 panels at 300w each!!! pffft - I d be dead before I recouped my cost, plus my roof isn t even that big! Sure, I can reduce my bill, but then again the $ to reduce it..... I m now looking into wind turbine since it always seems windy here.
Q: solar panels are way too expensive to buy, can they be homemade cheaply? i want at least 500 watts. everyone on the web sells these instructions, but i'd like a link to free info, if it is really possible for a non-sciencey person to make. thank you
we can walk you threw the process. Materials you will need… A sheet of copper flashing from the hardware store. This normally costs about $5.00 per square foot. We will need about half a square foot. Two alligator clip leads. A sensitive micro-ammeter that can read currents between 0 50 microamperes. Radio Shack sells small LCD multimeters that will do, but I used a small surplus meter with a needle. An electric stove.
Q: i am working on a project which requires small solar panels. i am looking for ones about 3X4. is there any way i could get these? and where?
Thin-film solar panels are a great way to go if you're looking for small solar panels. Thin-film have the advantage of being lighter while a traditional crystalline panel is more efficient so it can produce more power with the same area. With the increasing efficiency of thin-film solar panels, however, they are quickly becoming an excellent option for portable power solutions. If you want crystalline panels instead of thin-film, the DURAlite line is a good example of a portable solar panel that uses regular polycrystalline solar cells. DURAlite panels come in 5, 0, or 20 Watts and they have a 0' cable with a 2-volt car-style socket plug.
Q: I'm going to this camp and the instructors asked us to be prepared tomorrow to build a sun tracker for a solar panel. Does any one have any ideas, tips, or advice?
Since the sun moves in the sky on a very predicatable course you don't need a closed loop control system to track it. All you need is a clock-drive motor and the proper gearing for your latitude. The clock drive motor will move at a constant rotational velocity based on time, and when it is geared down properly the angle of the shaft will follow the sun. Make sure the clock motor is powerful enough to move the solar panel, etc. That's a start, anyway. .
Q: I want to know how many solar panels to use to power my AC and Water heater
you cant use solar panels to power your house, it would take more than you can afford, and space to mount them and all the equip required to hook it up. what they don,t tell you is you need a Battery bank [24 to 48 batteries], deep cycle a inverter ,[one that will convert 2 volts to 0, at the wattage you need ] a transfer switch, rated at 00 amps wiring, a 45 watt panel is around $300
