Q:I bought Nexxtech Evolution series 16 gauge 30' wire to be able to bring my rear speakers farther back in my room. I have an Altec Lansing 5.1 speaker system with remote and all the speakers connect to the back of the sub. (front are red wire, center is blue, and rear is gray) they are all have the black wire and the colored wire. The wire I just bought are brown, and have a stripe of gray on the second wire (polarized wires) but the ones I bought are much thicker wire... will it still work to just strip/twist/tape the wires to extend the rear speakers? or did I buy the wrong wire? and also, how do I know which to twist with which? (the ones I bought aren't really that clear on which is which... which end is positive and which is negative).Answer quickly please!
First of all, wires really don't make a difference at all - not for speakers anyway. Any cheap wire from home depot will work fine. The stuff they use for lamps works very well. Secondly, the colors, stripes, etc. don't make a difference either. Here's the only thing that matters - make sure you connect the (+) or RED wire from your amp to the (+) or RED terminal on your speaker. Likewise with the other wire. That's all you need to keep track of. If you don't do this, then your bass will suck.
Q:i would like to hook up a cd player in my dakota but i need a wire color diagram, anyboby no where or no the colors

Q:In the picture there is a blue wire that is loose, also i just had the starter and wiring changed a month a go. Thanks.
on the big wire connector on the starter.look at it close and you will see the other part. strip the wire and but a new connector on it and put it back on the big terminal on the starter your problem of it not starting will be gone
Q:What exactly is 6 AWG stranded grounding wire usually used for?
In a nutshell: a) Verify that your service drop has the capacity for the additional load - verify this with your utility. b) If you are planning to install a 200A service in the barn, and you are planning to bury the wire, you will need to use 3-0 wire in a conduit. Use separate conductors. Check with your local electrical inspector, but I do not believe you will need to run a separate ground within the conduit for this application. The code may have changed, however. c) You will need to install a 200A fused safety-switch at the pole, and a new 200A panel in the barn. d) The barn panel will also have a 200A main disconnect breaker in it. e) You will need to install an additional ground-rod (or rods) at the barn panel. 1. DO NOT use old/used wire. 2. Consider running triplex wire overhead as it will be less expensive and equally effective. 3. Get the work inspected by an underwriter - your fire insurance will be voided if you do not. Lastly, it is not rocket science, but the codes and standards that apply are there for a reason - follow them carefully and fully and you will be fine.
Q:There are 3 wires where the old floodlight used to be and only 2 wires attached to the floodlight I want to install. How can I tell which wires connect to which... and what is the third wire?
Am guessing that the third wire is a ground wire. check the instructions that came with it to be sure.
Q:when we connect the amp wire to the car battery we first remove the negative side then connect the amp wire to the negative side and reconnect the negative battery wire thing. is this correct?
This Site Might Help You. RE: connect amp wire to car battery? when we connect the amp wire to the car battery we first remove the negative side then connect the amp wire to the negative side and reconnect the negative battery wire thing. is this correct?
Q:i am going to be installing a flood light outside, i am running the wire on the outside of the house. i have down some small electrical work light outlets and switches but not sure on running wire. i was looking at lowes at outdoor wire and there are different size gauges. just wondering what size or gauge is best to use for an outdoor flood light?
Important! You need to check the breaker size. If it is a 20Amp circuit you must use #12 or greater. If it is a 15Amp circuit #14 or greater. Wire capacity should ALWAYS be equal to or greater than the circuit breaker.
Q:Ok. so i wired my cd deck into my 92 buick, but everytime i start the car i have to manually turn on the cd deck. i also have to change the settings everytime! and once i turn off the car the setting will not save and the setting will be lost. Now everytime i turn my car on i have to manually put the settings again! this did not happen in my old car! and i think it might be the wiring! Because the last cd deck i had did save the settings! and would turn thge cd player on everytime i turned on my car!! and it would play the track back, right where i left off. please help! i did attach the yellow cable wire the red cable to the battery current.? is there a problem!
You should have the yellow power wire connected to constant power and the red wired to ACC. You don't and this is why it's bahiving the way it is.
Q:how to wire the alternator for a 77 mustang
the big black wire is you charging wire should go in the battery side of the starter relay the STA post in the alternator goes to terminal S on the voltage regulator the FLD post goes to terminal F on the voltage regulator and there might be a ground wire next to the FLD post on the voltage regulator wire A+ goes to the battery side of the starter relay and wire I goes to the charging indicator light I'm not sure were the voltage regulator is in a mustang but its a square metal box i think it might be on the radiator support or inner finder
Q:What would the wire size be for a 3 phase 4 wire - 480/277V - 400A panelboard. Would it be (3) 600mcm w/ (1) 1/0 ground?
Well not quite: 1. The panelboard is 4 wire therefore the (3) in the description would be (4). The 4th wire is for the neutral and required if you are using the 277. Otherwise the panelboard is a 3 wire board and no 277 2. 600 kcmil copper with 75°C insulation is able to carry 420 A as long as the ambient temperature < 86°F (30°C) and are installed by themselves (not in a raceway/cable tray with other power conductors). If the conductors are aluminum, the temperature is hot, the installation has multiple conductors in the same raceway/cable tray, or the distance is of sufficient length resulting in unacceptable voltage drop, the cable must be derated -- read you must increase the size to 750 kcmil or increase the insulation rating to 90°C The ground conductor should be of sufficient size
