Q:Question:What is the point of new wires? Everyone keeps saying thicker wire. What does that thicker wire do? Does it carry a different force? I thought the ligature bands is what gives the wire the force? I'm kind of confused! Also, do you get a thicker wire everytime? Is this thicker wire visibly thicker and noticable?Does the thicker wire cause a drastic diff in pain?Thank you for your help and answering my question about my previous question.
No, you can't physically see the difference in the thicker wire, but you can feel the difference when they first put it in. It will feel kind of heavier and tighter. It won't last long though...maybe 2 or 3 days and you'll get used to it. No, you won't get a thicker wire at every visit.
Q:Green (ground), got it.Black (positive), got it.White (common), got it.Gray wire with like a black fiber in it, what is this? This is a pendant light so my guess is its just a filler wire to bulk up the cord it hangs from, am I right?
The gray wire is used as a physical support for the light fixture. You tie each end to the light fixture and to the box where the power wires are connected. This is so that you don't use the power wires as a physical support (hanger) to hold the light in place. Think of a swag lamp from years ago. The lamp hung from a chain connected between the lamp and the ceiling. The power cord never supported the weight of the lamp fixture. The black fiber in the gray wire is a strong cord.
Q:having a difficult time finding a wire for my remoter starter
The white wire to the coil is the tach wire. If you have the 4.3L,there is a white wire with a black tracer from the ignition control module to the coil. If that doesn't help,on the PCM,in the red connector, terminal 10 is the tach wire from the PCM to the Instrument cluster, this wire is also white.
Q:cat chewed two wires computer speaker wireand wii sensor bar wire well i can't just buy new ones or replace the wire so i need to reconnect them some how using insulated ferrules and electric tape and wire strippers any suggestions how to do this properly do i crimp them together with insulated ferrules or solder them together?what else can i do?i'm clueless how this worksneed help
The wire nut option would work but wouldn't look the best. I would go to your local hardware store and get a butt connector and some shrink tubing. Slide the shrink tube over the wire. Then place each end of your wire into the butt connector(be sure to remove appr. 3/8 of insulation). Crimp the connector onto the wire. Slide the shrink tubing to cover the connector and heat with lighter. This will give a smooth, finished look. Much cleaner than tape.
Q:And how can you not get them in hair straightener wires? Thanks!
Short in a wire is when two wires either don't connect cuz they're not long enough, OR when the wires start to smoke or burn or catch on fire.
Q:The wire is to the box
Hi There, Here is the proper way to wire a receptacle: Before starting the very first thing to do before wiring is to make sure the power is turned off at the breaker box. First: The bare (or green) ground wire goes to the green screw terminal on the receptacle. Second: The white (neutral) wire goes to the bright metal screw terminal on the receptacle . Third: The black (hot) wire goes to the brass screw terminal on the receptacle. Finally after the wires are connected and are tight; carefully position the receptacle back inside the box and tighten the two receptacle screws. Then replace the cover plate and turn the circuit breaker back on and plug a lamp or something in to test your work. Hope this helps, Al
Q:A wire has resistance 56.8 ohms. If another wire consists of the same material but has twice the length and half the diameter of the first, what is the resistance of the 2nd wire?
The two wires are composed of the same material, so we can concern ourselves solely with their respective dimensions. The second wire has half the diameter of the first, which means a cross section of the second wire has only 1/4th the cross-sectional area of the first wire (the area of a circle being proportional to the square of the diameter). The second wire is also twice as long as the first wire. Since electrical resistance is inversely proportional to the cross-sectional area of the wire and directly proportional to the length of the wire, we must have the resistance of the second wire to be 1/(1/4)*2*56.8 = 4*2*56.8 = 8*56.8 = 454.4 ohms
Q:Connecting a Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD to a 2008 Kia Sorento. I have connected the wire harness to the back of the stereo by matching each color. My issue is I have 2 wires left on each side.I have a blue wire on the wire harness, and on the stereo side I have a blue/white wire that says system remote start. Do these 2 need to go together, even though they are different color scheme, yet both are blue?Same thing with the orange wire on the harness, and I have an orange/white on the stereo, do these two need to be connected? Thanks!
The blue wire is a power antenna wire. If your car does not have a power antenna you do not need to connect this wire. If you do have one, the blue/ white wire from the stereo will work if it does not have a solid blue wire. The orange wires should be connected together. That wire dims the display on your stereo at night when you turn on the headlights.
Q:why do screen filters have wires with them?
The wire should connect to the monitor framing. Just find a screw and connect the wire to there. Google for Faraday shield - your wire drains the current from RF energy radiating from the monitor but absorbed by your screen - a concept that doesn't apply to LCD monitors, which don't radiate RF - just to the CRT models. Most CRT monitors have such a shield built-in, so you've wasted your money - IMHO - unless it also provides antiglare. Good luck.
Q:1 green wire, 1 black with red stripe wire
Green wire = positive Black with red tracer = negative
