They get to sue people who cause them problems (like an accident that damages their equipment, which then damaged your equipment). You should contact your local utility to see if they will voluntarily replace your losses, and if not, then contact your state power utility regulators to see if they can be compelled to. You, as a public utilities customer, should not be not required to foresee all of the possible power problems that might occur -- that's the utility's job. You probably ought to get a copy of any police or fire report of the incident that led to the fireman knocking on your door. That would probably help your case when you file a claim with the utility or state regulators.

Q:I bought a used printer but it did not have the power cable with it, but I have an old power cable from another printer. The only visble difference in the cables is that the colorful end that goes into the printer has a plastic notch on it that is in a different spot. My old one has the notch in the middle where is I need it off to the left. Can't I just shave the notch off and have it fit?: It's hard to say. Electrical equipment and parts are made for a specific reasons. Now, if you modify the power cable, it's possible that it may work. But, then again, there is also the possibility that it could do more damage than good. It will totally be your call.

From searching on google all I could manage to find was that they were sturdy, safe cars that cost a lot to repair, which I figured since it's a mercedes. Thanks!: C Class had a lot of problems on electrical equipments, but most of them were correct by 2003. I'm having a C 230 2.5 V6, it's not Kompressor. I've been driving it for more than a year already and there isn't any problem. I put in both 95 octane and sometimes E10 and it doesn't have any problem except sometimes the ! sign shows up on the metre. But, I was told before by Mercedes engineer that the car might get confused on different octane or mixture of the petrol. I stop the engine and start again and the sign disappear. C class from 2007 onward has the sensor to measure the octane of the petrol you put in. It takes from 91 to 98 without problem. It's a good car, I haven't paid more than engine oil and some filters for the first year. Each time cost me less than 200 dollars. I have the AMG version, the car is lower and suspensions are very stiff. It grips the road very well, and I can do more than 200 KMH.

Q:1 artificial permanent 2 electromagnetic3 natural: I suppose they all do; Electromagnets are probably the most useful as they can be switched on and off instantaneously. They are used in motors, loudspeakers, relays, televisions etc. artificial permanent magnets can also be found in electric motors, loudspeakers, reed switches etc. As far as i can think natural magnets don't have many applications. but they could be used to make loudspeakers, motors and to operate reed switches for sure. So in short, they all have several applications in electrical equipment. Sorry not to be of more help.
