Q: My house is aligned exactly North-South, so I have no roof facing South. Is it worth installing solar panels? Are there any good options for dealing with this situation?
The trouble is that it is so expensive to have installed and as you say it will take many years before you actually start saving above what the installation cost was, I personally would not go ahead and make that sort of investment, it would be more profitable to keep the money in a building society, get the interest from it and use that to pay for your electricity but the main thing that I have against solar Panels is that unless you stay in that house for at least twenty five years you will not reach the point where you are saving and to capitalise on it you would have to stay there for many years more, so you will not have the option of moving house without losing your investment and at the moment having solar panels does not increase the value of the property, it is just a good selling point, when you buy your new house, you would probably have to start all over again and then because of the years will never live long enough to reap any benefit from it.
Q: I don't know anything about where to buy solar panels. I just want to save on the electric bills.
Solar panels could supply an air conditioning unit but it would be SUPER expensive to do. Air conditioners are power hogs.
Q: Can solar panels be connected directly to motor?
Power supply must be a number of individual battery strings, connected in parallel and tightly packaged into components.
Q: I have a panel that quot;deep breatheproduces at 4% efficiency, what can it power, It's about 4ft by 2ft
Area is 4' * 2' * (0.3048m/ft)^2 = 0.743m^2. Incoming solar (assuming optimally oriented panel) averages about kW/m^2, so 743W max gross. 4% efficiency yields 300W. Most panels are about 0% - 5% efficient, which is about W. In either case, figure about /2 the theoretical efficiency for about 2 hrs per day. so, you can run something from 50 to 50W about 2hrs per day. Too small for any appliance except maybe a laptop or light bulb. Panels typically make about 2V, not enough to run household stuff anyway. Normally panels are used to charge batteries, then an inverter takes power from the battery to run your appliances. Good luck!
Q: Can solar panels be used in areas with high winds?
Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with high winds. However, it is important to ensure that the solar panel installations are properly designed and anchored to withstand the wind speeds typical for the area. Additionally, selecting durable and wind-resistant panel models can help mitigate any potential damage caused by strong winds.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on a data center or server room?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a data center or server room. In fact, many organizations are increasingly adopting renewable energy sources, including solar power, to meet their energy needs and reduce their carbon footprint. Installing solar panels on a data center or server room can help offset energy consumption, lower electricity costs, and contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly operation.
Q: I am starting to think about solar panels as an option for my home. I have done some research on panels, to be honest its all very confusing. There are many different panels some with 60 watts some all the way up to 20 watts. My household currently uses about 2700 to 3400 kWh every two months. So based off of my power usage maybe you can answer some of the following questions:What kind of panels should I be looking at?Which panel manufacturers give the best bang for the buck (reliable/affordable)?Anything else I should be concerned about?I am just starting out in educating myself on solar power so please excuse me if I sound very naive. Any information that you may have will be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately, I can't give you a lot of specifics on what you should use. However, I can tell you that the very best system for you simply might not be available to you, in which case it really doesn't matter how good it is. Your best bet would be to talk to a supplier in your area and see what is available, THEN start looking at the differences between those. Unfortunately, solar panels aren't quite to the point of being a common-place product...yet. Another thing to consider would be how old your roof is. You might want to look into the possibility of building-integrated materials if you are in need of a new roof. Talking with somebody who sells the panels in your area will help you understand a lot more than just doing raw research. Get their take on it, then fact check and research what they tell you so you know you're not getting ripped off.
Q: How do you make solar panels and do you need a lot of them to make electricity?
it takes a ton of them to power a home most only put out 45 watts, [cheaper ones] solar is not cheap its more expensive than electricity
Q: Can solar panels be installed on historical landmarks or monuments?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on historical landmarks or monuments. However, it requires careful planning and consideration to ensure that the installation does not compromise the integrity or aesthetics of the site.
Q: How do solar panels withstand hail and other extreme weather conditions?
Solar panels are designed to withstand various weather conditions, including hail and extreme weather. They are typically made with durable materials such as tempered glass, which is highly resistant to hail damage. Additionally, the panels undergo rigorous testing to ensure their ability to withstand high winds, snow loads, and extreme temperatures. The frames and mounting systems used to secure the panels also contribute to their resilience against severe weather. Overall, solar panels are built to be robust and reliable, enabling them to endure hail and other extreme weather conditions.
