- Q: I have been doing research online and have found replacement power cables from Kimber, Nordost, PS Audio, Cardas, Monster and Audioquest. While Kimber did win an award in Audiophile magazine, the write up for PS Audio's SC statement cable appears to be very good as well. Nordost makes a great product too, but have read some complaints that it actually cheats the bass. So I am basically looking to see if anyone owns any of the replacement cables from these companies or what they could recommend as a good replacement power cord.
- This question does not make sense. Power cord for what equipment? Most audio and video equipment comes with the power cord attached or uses a standard 3 prong 110v power cable that you see on computers. A power cord should not affect quality. To improve quality, you should have a power conditioner or line conditioner to clean the power going to your equipment. Please elaborate on what you are trying to do.
- Q: Hi,I have this Corsair TX 750W PSU and one of the cable have 3 x4pins connectors on it. i use one of the 4pins connector on this cable to power 6 fans on my case and the other two 4pins connectors i use one to connect to two ssd drives and other connector to the IDE 1.5TB hdd. do you think that this single cable is under stress to power up all 9 items? is there rule about psu cable? i am asking this because i thought maybe the psu is affecting my gtx 670 sli performance. i get P11000 score and X5006 using 3dmark 11. so it is a bit low. i should get arouynd P16000+.i have i7 2600k @ 4.5ghz w HT and pc3200 16GB. i hope someone can point out the low score issue and power supply cable question.. i am currently running drivers 320.49
- A computer power supply is really several supplies in the same box. The specs will tell you if those 4-pin connectors all go to the same place. The outputs for the graphics card come from a different source than those 4-pin Molex connectors so those aren't going to affect performance. You would have to add up the current draw for all of the fans and the drives to know if the power supply is being overloaded. The fans have the current draw printed on them so write them down and add them up. But if you are paranoid, open the case and disconnect the case fans. Also disconnect the drives you aren't using. SSD's don't draw nearly as much power as a HDD so try to disconnect the hard drive if you can. Then run the test again and it should be exactly the same.
- Q: I want to turn on my PC but my power cable was missing so i got a new one. A small sheet on the PC's power cable input hole says quot;230 V Rated voltagebut the new power cable fork has some characteristics written on it like EL - 202 / 10-16 / 250 quot;. So I'm afraid that 250 stands for Voltage so the power cable voltage is different from pc's rated voltage. I live in europe and we have 220V here from the power supply. Can I use this power cable or will it mess up my pc ? It's quite a quick issue that I need help with. Many thanks to everyone who can reply quickly. Cheers ;)
- The cable seems to be rated higher than your input voltage so you should be okay.
- Q: Opened the inside. Next to fuse, it says 8A 125VPower cable says it is 7A 125Vdevice doesn't not work. Could this be the problem? Not sure if the power cable is the original.
- No this is not the problem. Your equipment probably only draws a few amps, well below the rating on both the power cord and the fuse. Power cord and fuse rating do not have to match.
- Q: I am currently travelling in Europe and my power cable crapped out. I need a website which offers next-day international shipping. I am currently in Prague and am going to Krakow next; so if you know of a store in either city which would save me the shipping costs, that works, too.

- Q: When I went to go set it up, everything is ps3 except the power cable. You know on the side where it connects to the ps3? Well its supposed to be round on both sides. Well ours is round and square. Can i shave the square one or will it not work?
- No, you can use the power cable for a computer on the PS3. It is a standard shape and can be purchased from any good computer shop. The PS2 uses a transformer and the pin alignment is different. Just get a proper cable, they are really cheap anyway.
- Q: I would like to buy a replacement. What AC/DC adaptor should I buy? Should I buy the exact same model (FSP150-AAA)? I assume any AC/DC adaptor that has the same spec is ok but I am not sure what is the key for the spec. Any advice would be appreciated.
- There appear to be various manufacturers of FSP150-AAA power supplies. You must have a substantial laptop or whatever that is powering. Most laptops have 65 to 90 watt PSU, my gaming laptop is 120 watt, and FSP150-AAA is 150 watt. Or is that an all-in-one PC where the computer is built into a screen? The one you link to is one of the ones I found in a web search.
- Q: Were can i buy a replacement power cable ?
- FOR WHAT??????????
- Q: I have a simple 400watt amp going to a single 10inch kicker sub, nothing crazy. I need to know what gauge of power cable would be safe. An 8 gauge for example...
- 8 awg would be fine for 400w rms
- Q: I'm putting in my new power supply and gotta take out the old. But there isnt any clips to slide the cables out. I don't want to pull to hard and damage anything. How do you get it out. Do you pull hard? Help me.
- Usually the power cables going to the hard drive or CDROM have 2-3 wires that go into a white connector on the back of the device. Sometimes they have a clip to press down, but usually not. What you have to do is use your thumb and index finger and place them on each side of the white connector. (There is usually a couple of ridges sticking out on each side.) Simply tug outwards gradually but firmly, and rocking it from side to side until it finally detaches. When installing the new power supply, take a look on the connectors and you should see that they can only be inserted in one direction, as it usually has a angled corner that will not allow installation if it is upside-down. I would also suggest you make sure that the PC is not still plugged in. Some power supplies operate in standby mode and if you use pliers or a screwdirver to try and get the power supply out, you could fry the boards. (Just be sure to touch something metal to discharge any static electricity buildup on you before handling the PC.)
