- Q: Hey guys, I noticed that with heavy use of the power cord to my laptop, a part of the rubber surrounding the cord is open near the insertion part and you can see the wires. I'm just curious how dangerous it is. I don't have another power cord for my laptop, so do any of you have a recommendation for what I can do?
- very dangerous
- Q: Hi, my computer power supply does not have a PCI-E 6 pin power cable for my graphics card, so therefore I found a 2 (4 pin molex) to 1 PCI-E power cable Y adapter.
- Motherboard doesn't provide that connector for the video card. the power supply does. Take the side panel off and see if it has one. Can always use a 4/6pin adaptor. Most retail cards come with one. Just make sure you have enough watts and +12V amps on the PSU to run the new card. A lot of video card upgrades require an upgrade for the power supply as well.
- Q: I purchased a LCD TV the other day and ran a cable line to it (via crawl space). I had to use a splitter to connect the new TV. I connected the cable directly to the TV and then the power cable to the outlet which “popped” and the power went out (breaker trips). I connect the TV power cable to a surge protector and the power goes out again (surge protector wasn’t even on). So I disconnect the cable from the tv and connect the power. Everything is fine until I try and connect the cable...let’s just say the spark was bright and hot enough to melt part of the connector on the TV! So I return the TV and get a different brand and the same thing happens when I plug it into a surge protector. To begin narrowing out possible problems I connect the cable to a regular 10 year old TV with no problems. It is a brand new cable with no cuts or fraying. Any suggestions?
- Something is seriously wrong, and you may need to get an electrician on the problem. You need to check the voltage between your set and the cable with a meter. There should be little or no measurable voltage. If you are getting a reading like 115 volts, then I suspect that the wall outlet into which your TV is plugged has been wired backwards, i.e. the black wire is on the white terminal, and vice-versa. The cable is (or should be) grounded where it comes into the house, but if the outlet has the hot wire on the wrong side, this might cause the problem you described. The wrong connection could have occurred anywhere along the line between your main panel and the outlet, so this may involve checking the connections at several outlets and light fixtures - whatever is on the same circuit as your TV's outlet.
- Q: Need advice from tech guys. Can I use laptop charger (20v 3.5A) as adapter with IDE/SATA to USB cable to power 3.5HDD in place of (12v 0.8 A) cheap adapter which just got faulty.
- Essentially you could, but why would you when ypu can buy one for cheap? The whole idea f a laptop is so its portable (just my two cents)
- Q: if we provide power through power cable will there be need of extra capacitor near load?
- Yes, if you are talking about a bypass capacitor. Electronics always requires a bypass capacitor near the circuit/IC. Having one at the end of a cable means the cable inductance is in series, and the impedance seen by the IC power supply leads is inductive and high instead of the needed low impedance that a local bypass cap provides.
- Q: What is the parallel use of the power cable
- Do not know what you want to ask? What about your situation? Normal or pregnant? Normal this radiation does not affect what, if it is pregnant, this is far away from the best. Pregnancy is most needed to stay away from the microwave!
- Q: Cable 3 (4 × 185 + 1 × 95) What does it mean?
- With a straight pipe with a matching pipe (commonly known as the hoop), in order to prevent the joints at the slippery, PVC glue can be used after the smear. If the trouble, then use the electrical cloth cloth to the two tube package can also be strict.
- Q: What cable am I supposed to use for power?
- That kind, it's kind of hard to see on the OKorder pic. Usually your switch should come with a console cable and the power cord, unless you bought it used. The person probably kept it.
- Q: I have lost the Power cable and couldn't find it anywhere but i have tried using my Printer's cable (HP) and it worked but i am wondering if there is any risk from using it? could it affect the ps4 in any way?
- If it works, I wouldn't think there would be any risk in my opinion. Its probably the same kind of cord.
- Q: I want to order a small 100 watt amp and needed to know if it can get powered by the head unit by connecting it with the rca cables.. thanks..
- The wattage of the amplifier makes no difference. A new amp will have a specification for the input sensitivity. This is how many volts from the source will drive it. The line level output from your head and line level inputs on the amp should work. Line level outputs will probably not drive speaker level inputs on an amp very well.
