Q:i know i put this in the maintenance and repairs section, but im hoping for someone who know cars well that may be able to help. anyways i plan on lifting up a car and pulling a truck for a couple miles for my schools charity. i already know what im going to do to pull the truck, but i don‘t know where on the back of a small car is the easiest and sturdiest to use as my hand hold. i don‘t want to break anything and i don‘t wast to dent anything. i know this is weird but my friends gave the school clubs ideas and i couldn‘t say no to them. so i could really use someones help.thank you
hopefully you will also get help to lift the car; are you renting a car dolly or trailer from someplace like Uhaul ? might not be a bad idea :)
Q:(Town Car 97) I went to drive my car this morning but I seen that the back tire went flat. I lifted the car and took off the tire and seen that it was smushed by the weight of the car and that the actual rotar was closer to the ground making it so that even when I raised the car the tire didn‘t come off the ground. Can this mean the air bag suspension completely went out?
Tires go flat from a shortage of air pressure. It has nothing to do with your air suspension. The tire has the same amount of weight to support regardless of the functionality of your cars suspension. You are supposed to turn the air suspension off by the way before you jack up the car or you will break it.
Q:where would you lift the car up on any lift especialy those V shaped lifts that are hydraulic?
Q:If i have two cars and i get a 6 suspension lift on one, and a 6 body lift on the other will they look the exact same. Because it looks like body lifts are higher. Oh and how much would a body lift cost, thanks.
like sea foam. check your catalytic converter when your exhaust is cold hit the converter or listen for a rattle remove o2 sensor before cat and see if that helps, if it rattles it is bad.
Q:I‘m going to be doing some work and was wondering if the factory equipped jack could hold up one wheel.
Only if you are doing something minor like changing a tire. Anything more serious like brake work, the vehicle needs to be supported better. Reason is if the vehicle gets pushed while it's on a single jack it will topple off, and potentially kill you. When I was young and broke I didn't have any axle stands, but used some large wooden rounds of un-split firewood. Jack car up, slide those under the suspension or axle, and let the jack down. Now safe to work on.
Q:i‘m thinking lift.
Q:In a hydraulic lift, the radii of the pistons are 2.02 cm and 9.6 cm. A car weighing W 11.5 kN is to be lifted by the force of the large piston. (a) What force Fa must be applied to the small piston?answer in N(b) When the small piston is pushed in by 9.8 cm, how far is the car lifted?answer in mmplease help me out i dont get it.it would be greatly appreciated if anyone can answer this for me thanks :)(c) Find the mechanical advantage of the lift, which is the ratio W / Fa.
You can BUT I really do NOT suggest it. there is different technologies and grips and etc. involved that is different and special for each and every sport
Q:It‘s a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis. It has a wheelchair lift on the rear and I was wondering if it is ok to take it through an automatic car wash? Thanks.
Nope. You'll tear up the car wash and they are quite expensive to repair. If an attendant is there they probably won't even let you go through. Find a 'touchless' one and you should be OK but they do a real poor job.
Q:At point A when the angle of elevation is 31 degrees, the lift cars will travel at 5.0 mph. Each degree of increase of elecation decreases the speed by .2 mph. Point A and point B are 600 feet away from each other (Point B is 600 feet right, closer to the mountain). We may be able to situate the base station at points other than points A and B. What base station location minimizes the time needed to reach the top? Also assume each degree of decrease in the angle of elevation increases the speed by .2 mph. Work please? Thanks!
We need a diagram, or a better setup. Is A at the same elevation as B? Is there some third point on the mountain to which the cars must travel? If so, what is its elevation and distance? (I guess if from A Θ 31?, we need the elevation OR the distance -- we can calculate the other.) If we put the station at B, how do we get to B? And what is the travel time to get to B? Does it matter?
Q:How much does it cost to get a old school box/bubble caprice lifted for rims and a 2000-05 monte Carlo lifted for rims?
why would you want to waste your money on something like that in such a poor economy? go spend your money on an education instead.
