- In my opinion, Tmobile is a great cellular service provider and I've been using them for years without problems. So I think you should be fine with them. Meanwhile, all I can say about the t-mobile phone selection is RAZR-Ville! and it's also that way for a good reason. T-mobile doesn't offer very many decent phones in my opinion aside from the reliable RAZR and Sidekicks. But, the problem with this is the fact that RAZRs are becoming all to common and the sidekick has an apalling screen resolution, camera, and portability rating (at least for me). T-mobile also has a tragically small amount of smartphones in their line up. This is because T-mobile is relying on the blackberry/crackberry to hold their smartphones sector. So unless you love blackberries, look somewhere else. Finally, the low-end phones are mainly clamshells with decent functionality for those who just want a phone. Though one exception to the low-end phones would be the samsung slide phone that they have get it if you wan t a nice looking and quite capable basic phone. Thus, unless you absolutely love the RAZR, text message to the point or needing a sidekick, need a blackberry(I found the phone boring), or want a basic phone which you can mostly get elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend getting a phone from t-mobile directly. Which brings me to a simple conclusion, buy an unlocked GSM phone that works with where you live and T-mobile from OKorder or something and stick your sim card in it. Well hope that helps.

- I think u have to get a smart phone, and then there something u can add onto your plan that lets u do that. You should either call up costumer service ans ask them or go to a t-mobile store.

- No, it cannot. Even if you completely flash and reprogram it to Virgin Mobile, Virgin Mobile will not allow you to activate it. I have tried using non-Virgin Mobile phones on Virgin Mobile, and they always tell me that they simply cannot activate an ESN that their system does not recognize as a Virgin Mobile phone. There are ways to change your ESN to that of a Virgin Mobile phone, but they are illegal. Don't do it. Just buy a Virgin Mobile phone, they're not very expensive. Maybe you can post on craigslist that you need a Virgin Mobile phone and someone will trade you phones. Sorry for the bad news!

- I absolutely think it is too much -- a 4th grader should never be alone long enough to need a cell phone even for an emergency. I can see when they get old enough to take off for a bike ride or something like that. but otherwise it's ridiculous. - Honestly I would wait for a different one. I am a best bu mobile employee and i had the phone for about 4 months and just thought it could of been better. 1. The battery is so dreadful, i got maybe 4hrs out of it. 2. The signal strength on the phone was absolutely terrible. I never got more than 3 bars in places i would normally get full strength and that was on other virgin mobile phones. 3. The camera on the back would be really funky sometimes. It would show any picture i took with a blue color and i had no effects on it. 4. It got really dirty really quickly and the back cover never really fits on there correctly. I would say wait, i believe they should be getting some new phones to virgin sometime late feb.-mid march.
