- Q:And then you use a hair dryer on it and it shrinks the plastic?Does that work for all plastic? Will all plastic shrink? Or are the ones in the store a 'special' type of plastic?
- Not all plastic shrink. The window kits you refer to are specially designed to shrink. There are also craft plastic designed to shrink suck as shrink a dinks a crafty kit for making all kinds of interesting toys and gadgets.

- the shrink plastic works well, but you need super clean, smooth and grease free woodwork to adhere the double sided tape. it does not stick well to bare wood, so you might first have to paint a line of varnish or poly where the tape will go (and let it dry, of course). My 20's bungalow has Original windows, and until I can get some outside storms made, I'm using the shrink wrap. You're only trying to trap a layer of still air between the the outside glass and the room. Caulking around all the window and floor wood work will go a long way to improve the Comfort level of rooms, too.

- It does help. If it covers the whole frame then it should eliminate draughts. If it only covers glass then it will work better with an air gap since air is an insulator
- Q:Have very little budget to work with, paid Marshall Construction of Kalamazoo to do the roof, haven't seen him since (Even with the contract), windows are in really poor condition and need to be replaced but don't have the funds to do it (Lost job like everyone else in Michigan). - I have found using a product called Mean Green does a lovely job on the new vinyl windows. I use it on mine and found it great. I smoke and the place we live leaves road crud on them on the outside. This handles it great. Any good department store carries it, spray it on use warm water to wash off and rinse. Good to go.
- Q:out of envelopes before you put it in your paper recycles or do you leave it in? This bugs me EVERY week, lol. Who does this and who doesn't . Anyone know how they deal with the plastic. ?
- If your recycler says they take Mixed paper or mail, then don't worry about the windows. They are prepared to deal with the windows.

- because they are plastic. wow, that should be obvious. .
- Q:Do I have to replace the entire convertible or can the plastic be replaced?
- you can have the plastic replaced - i had it happen to me, it faded to yellow and was just plain ugly. either take it to the benz store and have them take care of it - or go to a good upholstery shop and have them replace it. so, yes it is very easily done.
