- Q: I recently purchased some plastic tubes that have a spelling mistake. The print can be removed using some alcohol and some serious elbow grease. Does anyone know a better way to remove the print? Is there something better to use other than alcohol that won't damage the plastic bottle?Any help would be appreciated!Mike
- use goo gone. You can find it at most walmarts
- Q: Is the silk friction of plastic pipe near the salt is the attraction or repulsion, why
- Suction. After the friction, the plastic pipe is charged and the salt is not charged. Due to electrostatic induction, the charged object will attract the uncharged object.
- Q: ...placing them in a humidor? Seems to me that they won't achieve proper humidification if they're wrapped in plastic or stored in a sealed metal tube. What say you?
- Cigars in a sealed glass or metal tube should already be humidified. For storing, you could open the tube and place the opened tube in your humi As for the cellophane, its a matter of personal preference - leaving them on will protect them if you decide to carry them later. Cellophane is porous and will alllow humidity to pass thru.
- Q: I have a little bit of a project. I'm trying to figure a way to cool a pair of water filled tubing lines. I was thinking to wrap it with some type of cooling device but not quite sure what to use. Can you guys give me some ideas? I want to cool the lines as cool as refrigerator temps. Thanks.
- You have not said how much heat you need to disperse - whether it needs to be a continuous process or not. You have not mentioned whether the lines are flexible or what length they are! However, without making things too complicated, if you use a longish length of plastic tubing, you could coil them and run them through a bucket full of an ice/salt/water mixture. Depending on how fast the water is moving through the tubes, if you had a strong mixture of salt and ice - with just enough water in the bucket to allow conduction - you might be able to freeze the water in the tubes - which is probably NOT what you want to do. So experiment before the performance.
- Q: Can plastic tubes be used for ventilation systems?
- Yes, plastic tubes can be used for ventilation systems. They are commonly used in various applications such as HVAC systems, air conditioning units, and even in industrial ventilation systems. Plastic tubes offer several advantages such as being lightweight, durable, and resistant to corrosion, making them a suitable choice for ventilation purposes.
- Q: Are plastic tubes resistant to bacterial growth?
- Yes, plastic tubes can be resistant to bacterial growth, depending on the type of plastic used. Some plastics have antimicrobial properties or can be treated with antimicrobial agents to prevent bacterial growth. However, it is important to note that if the plastic tubes are not properly cleaned and maintained, bacteria can still grow on their surfaces.
- Q: I have a stainless steel side-by-side fridge. It is a Frigidaire that is less than a year old. Yesterday, the water dispenser started leaking water from other orifices in the plastic around where it is supposed to come out when you push the lever to release water.I think it means that the tubing has come loose inside, and so spills out because it doesn't have a water-tight seal anymore.
- the PN you have listed is the part number of the manual. Look inside the refrigerator for a sticker. What you need is the model number. I think you will need to pull of the water catch try and under it are the screws to start disassembling the fountain.
- Q: I need to find a round, plastic jar that is 4 1/2 inches in diameter and 4 3/4 high. Does anyone know where I can find something like this?
- Peanut butter comes in a container about that size....
- Q: I have a tube thats plastic and after i peeled the sticker off it was all sticky. Any help?
- Old fashioned liquid cigarette lighter fluid will dissolve the adhesive and you can wipe it off with a soft cloth or paper towel.
- Q: I have recently upgraded my fishtank. The new one has 3 under-gravel filters and I am using my old charcoal and wool filter as well. I am using a Sonic 9905 pump that has 2 air connections. When I first set it up 2 days ago, all three gravel tubes, connected by T pieces, flowed with no problems and the other filter had it's own tube. Now, either the 2 tubes closest to the pump work, or the further one. They seem to change randomly. How can I get all three to flow constantly?
- If the T piece do not have a regulator on it, replace it with one that has. This is usually called an air regulator. It has a knob on it that you can use to regulate the flow of the air in the tube. Or you can buy a piece of valve that can pinch the plastic air tube so that you can regulate the air that goes into one tube or the other. These are available in your LFS. Ask them and let them show you how they do it.
