Q: information place phoneweb site
YA Sawsan, Every Saudi Embassy has a commercial section
Q: My dad asked the question why are grain storage silos the shape that they are tall and round. Plz help me so I can impress him with some educated answer. thanks
Curved un-stiffened structures can take higher pressure than ones made out of flat plates, hence the needed thickness of plating would be thinner. Thus silos are made round. Grains have very high angle of repose which means that the inverted cone at the bottom of the silo should be steep in order that the grain would drain properly. A wide silo would therefore require a deeper cone and thicker materials to make it. So instead of building silos wider and bigger in diameter they are just built taller and more slender to reduce the construction cost. Also taller silos would occupy less ground area than fatter and shorter ones of the same volume.
Q: I dare you to press Ctrl + Shift + W at the same time. What happens?
I dont know.... What happens when you press Ctrl + Alt + Side Arrow?
Q: what is the reason behind painting a flag on a silo?
If it's an American Flag it called patriotism.
Q: I read that there are several Titan missile silos for sale in Tucson Arizona. Where can I find one currently for sale?
You really want to live in something that is likely to have several ICBMs targeted to within centimeters of it? With the US' propensity for getting on the wrong side of foreign military lately I would reconsider.
Q: A grain silo has a cylindrical shape. Its diameter is 18 ft, and its height is 47 ft . What is the volume of grain that can be stored in the silo?(Use the value 3.14 for (pie), and round your answer to the nearest cubic foot. Be sure to include the correct unit in your answer.)
Use volume formula for a cylinder: V = pi r? h You know r = d/2 = 18/2 = 9 ft. You know h = 47 ft. So, using 3.14 for pi as your question requests, you get the following: V = 3.14 * (9 ft.) ? * 47 ft. = 3.14 * 9 * 9 * 47 ft ? = 11,954 ft ? (rounded) Hope that helped! .
Q: A silo is to be constructed in the form of a cylinder surmounted by a hemisphere. The cost of construction per square foot surface area is twice as much for the hemisphere as for the cylinder. Determine the dimensions to be used if the volume is fixed (100m^3) and the cost is to be minimum.plz show stepsthanks in advance-lara
Let V = volume of silo V = volume of hemisphere + volume of cylinder Volume of hemisphere = (2/3)(pi)r^3 Volume of cylinder = (pi)r^2h where r = radius of cylinder = radius of hemisphere h = height of the cylinder Since V = 100, 100 = (2/3)(pi)r^3 + pi(r^2)h and solving for h h = (100/(pi*r^2)) - (2r/3) S = Surface area of silo = surface area of hemisphere + surface area of cylinder Surface area of hemisphere = 2(pi)r^2 Surface area of cylinder = pi(r^2) + 2(pi)rh Therefore, S = 2(pi)r^2 + pi(r^2) + 2(pi)rh since h = (100/(pi*r^2)) - (2r/3) and substituting it in the above equation, S = 2(pi)r^2 + pi(r^2) + 2(pi)r[100/(pi*r^2)) - (2r/3)] Simplifying the above, S = 2(pi)r^2 + [(pi)r^2 + 200/r - 2(pi)r^2/3] S = 2(pi)r^2 + [(1/3)(pi)r^2 + 200/r] Since cost of hemisphere is twice that of the cylinder, then C = cost = 2*2(pi)r^2 + 1*[(1/3)(pi)r^2 + 200/r] C = 4(pi)r^2 + (1/3(pi)r^2 + 200/r C = (13/3)(pi)r^2 + 200/r Differentiating C with respec to r, (dC/dr) = (26/3)(pi)r - 200/r^2 and setting (dC/dr) = 0 and solving for r, (26/3)(pi)r - 200/r^2 = 0 Simplifying the above, 26(pi)r^3 = 600 Solving for r, r = 1.94 meters Now, that r is known, h can be determined by using the above derived formula of h = (100/(pi*r^2)) - (2r/3) Substituting r = 1.94. h = 7.16 meters Dimensions of the silo are: r = 1.94 m h = 7.16 m CHECK: First check: V = (2/3)(pi)(1.94)^3 + pi(1.94)^2(7.16) V = 15.3 + 84.7 = 100 m (this checks with the original condition of the problem that the volume of the silo is fixed at 100 m^3). Second check: Take the second derivative of the original function, i.e., (d^2C/d^2r) = 400/r^3 and since the second derivative is positive (greater than zero), then it confirms that the calculated dimensions for r and h will indeed yield the minimum cost.
Q: The silo can hold 1152(pie) cubic feet of grain. The diameter of the silo is 12ft.1. Given that the volume of a cylinder is V=pie(r^2)h and the volume of a sphere is V=4/3(PIE)r^3, write a formula for the volume of the silo2. What is the height of the silo.Could you please help because I do not understand. I would go to tutoring but my bus gets late to school. Also if you could explain the best you can please and thank you.
The radius of cylinder and hemisphere is 6 ft. Total combined volume is V = 1152π ft? If the volume of a sphere is 4πr?
Q: A proposed new grain silo consists of a cylinder of height h and radius r, capped by a hemisphere. Express its volume as a function of h and r.
Cylinder = π r^2 h Half a sphere = 1/2 (4/3 π r^3) = 2/3 π r^3 so V = π r^2 h + 2/3 π r^3
Q: Roy never paired up with a female, similar to how his daughter apparently never paired up with a male. Anyway,I'm pretty sure that means Silo was bisexual. But,does that necessarily mean that Roy is homosexual? Or,he just isn't interested in romance?
yeah, i think silo's bi, roy's gay (or just really in love with silo), and tango is a lesbian, kupo. and they're all so cute! <3
