Q:I am doing a Solar Panel DIY?
Sounds like fun. A -watt panel doesn't need a charge controller, though. In fact, it may take more than watt to power the charge controller. With a low-wattage panel, you can just connect the panel directly to the battery. A 7 amp-hour gel cell (the kind used in burglar alarms) would be good for this purpose. The panel is too small to charge a car battery. The gel cell should power that inverter, but only for a few minutes. If you want to be more impressive, look for a low power, 2-volt device. An iPod plus a 2-volt car adapter would be an example.
Q:Solar panels for car fans?
The solar panel doesn't output enough power to run the fan directly, your best bet would be to just hook the fan back up to the battery, and then rig the solar panels up to help charge the battery and remove some of the load from the alternator. If you're trying to reduce your emissions/increase fuel economy then you'd be better of setting up a switch to disconnect your alternator when its not necessary to have it on. The alternator runs off a belt from the engine which requires some of the power output from the engine. Having this connected all the time increases the amount of gas used (marginally) but you'd be saving more gas doing that and using the solar panels to keep the battery topped up.
Q:Anybody install solar panels themselves?
i have always been interested in it but the storage (batteries) and power grid tie in (to get paid for excess) technicalities made me shy away. since your getting it installed im sure labor is a huge part of that -OKorder has tons of the equipment. I think wind may be a good home renewable source depending on where you live (cheaper than solar if you got the wind and space) I would doubly check any goverment offerings - I know they used to and maybe still do offer sizable credits if you are within the bureacratic standards so make sure the installers work with you on that. good luck -its new - and going to be a hassle to get right but the world needs more like you. willing to pay more now for a better tommorow (and not just $ wise) you should come out ahead as interest rates and market provides little value on that cash and saving any equipment falure you sound good. does the price include the batteries for all your produce kwh's? panels and labor aside batteries are the next big one
Q:where to buy solar panels?
You need to be more specific about what type of solar panel. ) PhotoVoltaic (produces electricity) 2) Fluid (Glycol) (heats water or air using a heat exchange tank) 3) Fluid (Water) for pool water heating
Q:how much is one solar panel?
no one has answered because you asked a question that cannot be answered. It is exactly the same question as how much is a car?. Do you want a passive solar heating panel, a solar electric panel, .5 Volts, ,000,000 BTUs, do you want just the panel or the panel installed and functioning, or what? the answer is between $5 and $5,000,000.
Q:what is the cost of getting km sq of solar panels?
As okorder.com/ They are working on a reactor that makes diesel and electricity concurrently out of coal, biomass or possibly garbage in a non-polluting process.
Q:how many solar panels do I need for my house if in average i consume 880 kwh?
First, okorder.com/... Second, as a general rule of thumb, you can generate at most 00 watts of power (.Kwh) per 2 square feet of roof space. I have had to revise my own estimates after building a solar array in my yard using high grade solar panels. Solar panels do not put out their peak rating all the time. NOTE: I am not paid nor given any compensation by solar interests.
Q:Solar panels for a netbook?
That strikes me as completely impractical for most circumstances. The power output of your mains adapter is 30W and to do that you are looking at at least five or six square feet of solar panels costing in the region of $600 even from a surplus supplier I know. You could do it cheaper (maybe $50 on panels) but then you would be looking a more primitive panels and need perhaps thirty square feet of solar panels. This is a completely different exercise to creating a solar powered USB charger - the power requirement is a lot higher. Astronomy and space?
Q:What is the best solar panel?
You have to decide which is more important to you, cost or efficiency. The most efficient solar panels that are commercially available cost more than twice as much per square foot than the cheapest ones. Ultimately, I believe that the cost per watt was actually better on the cheaper, least efficient panels, but then you need a lot of square footage in order to generate any substantial power. So it comes down to what you have more of, space or money. The new panels that collect a wider range of light are not currently available commercially, and when they are I am sure that they will be expensive. I have read the research but have not heard of anyone mass producing them yet.
Q:What is the anatomy of a solar panel?
You've probably seen calculators that have solar cells -- calculators that never need batteries, and in some cases don't even have an off button. As long as you have enough light, they seem to work forever. You may have seen larger solar panels -- on emergency road signs or call boxes, on buoys, even in parking lots to power lights. Although these larger panels aren't as common as solar powered calculators, they're out there, and not that hard to spot if you know where to look. There are solar cell arrays on satellites, where they are used to power the electrical systems. You have probably also been hearing about the solar revolution for the last 20 years -- the idea that one day we will all use free electricity from the sun. This is a seductive promise: On a bright, sunny day, the sun shines approximately ,000 watts of energy per square meter of the planet's surface, and if we could collect all of that energy we could easily power our homes and offices for free.
