- Q: My washer is 20 volts 60 gz,9.6 amps. The solar panels I am looking at are: Sharp ND-208U Solar Panels (208 Watt) List Price $,479.99 Only $,049.99 Sharp Solar Panels (208 Watt) List Price $,352.99 Only $,040.99 If I buy that will it be enough to run my washer?
- Can't answer your questions but you can find those panels for $984.50, which is signficant if you are buying more than one. An uneducated guess would be that one panel would be enough to power the clothes washer, but maybe not the clothes dryer. The washer is just a motor and a spinning device.
- Q: I have a 500 watt inverter and battery but need solar panels to run my need. I want to have enough juice to run a computer and monitor and sometimes a 5w amp. I am not sure how much power is needed to run the computer (standard desktop with 5flat screen with an additional surround sound system) though on the side of the computer it says 5 amp but I know I used to run it and monitor and surround sound with a heating blanket on the same circuit which was rated at 20 amps. My question is that I would like to go and buy some panels (cheaply as I'm unemployed) from somewhere like Harbor Freight that would meet the need of the converter to supply enough amperage. So what size panel(s) or panels would I need to run this setup? If I am correct I think 500 watts is equal to 5 amps. Would this even work? Could I run a partial system where I could run some of the stuff to take a load off? I need to lower my electric bill somehow. Thanks!
- Solar okorder in their survival discussion in the archive, this exact project was discussed at length.
- Q: I want to know that if I put solar panels in space if Pluto can recieve energy for iPods and television
- Two problems: ) solar flux. Around Earth, we receive solar energy to the tune of 370 W/m^2 (watts per square metre). In theory, if you have a solar panel of metre by one metre and place it (in space) directly perpendicular to the rays of the sun (meaning = the panel is facing the sun perfectly), you should get 370 watts of power. In practice, the panels are never 00% efficient so that you get less. The flux (just like the intensity of light) drops as the square of the distance increases. Pluto is -- on average -- 39 times further from the Sun, therefore the flux there will be reduced by a fraction of 39^2 = 52 times 370 / 57 = 0.9 W Even with 00% efficiency, you square metre panel will produce less than one watt, once you get it out to Pluto. 2) temperature It is very difficult to built a solar panel (with all the required wire connections) that remains flexible enough at Pluto's temperatures. Temperature drops as the 4th root of the flux (or, to make it easier, the square root of the distance). sqrt(39) = 6.25 Temperature at Pluto = Temperature at Earth / 6.25 (in degrees Kelvin -- also known as Absolute Temperature) At best, temperature around here is 300 K (it is less than that, but 300 makes the calculation easier) 300 / 6.25 = 48 48 K = -225 C = -373 F wires and insulation become very brittle at these temperatures... and one watt of power flowing through the wires will NEVER be enough to warm them up (never mind running the iPod).
- Q: How much space is required for solar panel installation?
- The amount of space required for solar panel installation varies depending on factors such as the size and type of panels used, as well as the energy needs of the property. On average, a residential solar panel system typically requires about 100-400 square feet of roof space per kilowatt of installed solar capacity. Additionally, ground-mounted systems may require larger areas, typically ranging from a few hundred to several thousand square feet depending on the system size. However, it is important to consult with a professional solar installer to determine the specific space requirements for your individual project.
- Q: If a solar panel is a .5kW system, what length of time is it putting out that much power? Every hour?
- Power = work done/time taken In other words, Watts=Joules/second. In this respect, power is a little like speed (m/s). Your question is looking at a car with a 50mph top speed, and asking how long is it going that fast? The solar panel will produce .5KW for as long as you require it. Enough to boil a kettle, run a modest electric heater etc,
- Q: I have:4- 5v 200ma solar panels5- 3v ,000ma solar panels- 7amp charge controller- 400watt inverterNow I have all my solar panels linked in series which in theory should give me 35v, 5.8 amps at 203 watts. Is this correct? The main question is, what kind of battery should I get so I can run my miscellaneous electronics off of it?I may not have explained it so well so if you need more information, feel free to ask.
- I okorder and they have deep cycle batteries exclusively made for solar panels. but in theory you should get more than one because it only takes around 4-5 volts to charge the battery and you do not want to have it that high even with a charge controller which i would also recommend getting which is like $50 on OKorder but a charge controller is used so you do not overcharge the batteries and fry them or undercharge the batteries and weaken its life it gets it just perfect. it lets the current go in and when it is charged fully nothing goes in an nothing comes out.... for a inverter the one i was going to get was $70 500 watt inverter but changes it from dc to ac...hope i helped
- Q: first of all, to be honest i have totally no idea on how a solar panel works.my task is to design something like a solar powered street lamp which store sun energy during day time and convert it into electrical energy then light energy so that the lamp can work during night time.any ideas on how to design the solar panel? which can store enough or more enegry in case there is no sunlight another day. and low cost as well :D
- image voltaic panels do no longer shop capability, they basically generate it. in case you opt to shop capability you like a battery economic enterprise of a few sort to get you for the time of the night and each time the sunlight isn't shining. in case you have somewhat extra in the fee selection you would be able to desire to look at a geothermal equipment to your place's heating and cooling needs. they are distinctly useful structures and you'd be able to supplement notwithstanding you like. notwithstanding you do, in spite of the indisputable fact that i'm hoping you have a sturdy construction envelope in place already. image voltaic panels are cool, yet once you have a leaky homestead, you're nevertheless no longer getting the final out of your panels. Do the extra mundane stuff first. Insulation, homestead windows, and climate-tight doorways.
- Q: i took some solar yard lights apart and put them together in a series. i was told if you take AMPS times VOLTS = WATTS. do you test it with ac volt or dc volts? I tested mine with dc volts and got 4 volts in good sun and had my meter set on Ma or milliamps and got .83 which i am asuming that is .83 of one amp now i took those and multiplied .83 times 4 volts to = 34.03 watts. Is this large enough to charge a car battery in a day? And doese it make a difference for amps on how fast it charges or watts. i also was looking around and found 30 watt panels but had higher amps. I am very interested in building solar panels but i realize i dont know what i need to do to make shur they are big enough. my panel is only 9inch by 0 inch. It seems weird that i am putting out 4 volts
- If a car battery contains 50 amp hours of charge at 2 volts, that's 600 watt hours of energy. divided by 34.03 watts, 7.63 hours to charge completely in direct sunlight. You don't want to connect them all in series. You want about 4 or 5 volts to charge a 2 v battery, so you should connect groups in parallel, and connect those groups in series to make your voltage. You'll end up with the same amount of power, lower volts and higher amps. It will work for trickle charging your battery if it's not too far run down.
- Q: I am doing research for a project.Please reply soon! :)
- Yes or one could say that Solar Panel is a simple and easy way to say photovoltaic array.
- Q: That one costs money but looks like it might work. I don't really have the money for it but if it works then it would probably be worth it. Do homemade solar panels really work or is it just a gimmick? I'm really interested to see if anyone has actually tried this and to see what they say about it.Thanks
- Yes there are plans and testimonials all over the internet and dozens of vids on youtube for homemade panels
