- Q: Can solar panels be installed on a residential community or housing development?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on a residential community or housing development. In fact, many residential communities and housing developments are incorporating solar panels as a sustainable and cost-effective energy solution. Installing solar panels on rooftops or open spaces within the community can generate clean energy, reduce electricity bills, and contribute to a greener environment.
- Q: Is it really possible for me living in Denver to build and install and setup my own solar panel to help make electricity for my home?
- Sure you can build your own solar panels, people do it all the time, especially with the efficiency of PV technology accelerating. How much you spend on a system depends on how much work you are willing to do for yourself, and how much and how efficiently you consume power. You can go all the way from high-end prefab installs that will run about $50 grand to fill the energy needs for an average 3/2 suburban home. You can buy kits and install them yourself, that cuts your price down quite a lot. You can purchase the components and put together a system yourself really cheaply. You can save even more money if you buy stuff used. You could actually build solar photovoltaic panels yourself, but it is a serious pain in the behind, you will need to use copper sheets and some highschool chemistry and do a lot of experimenting, and even if you do it right you definitly won't be able to replicate the power output available in manufactured silicone photovoltaic cells. So I say don't even bother. To get an idea of what a PV system for your local area might put out, use the PV-WATTS calculator at the government Renewable Resource Data Center. To learn how to build home solar energy systems, there's a lot of good free information online.
- Q: this solar panel i saw was for 500 dollars(i get a 25% discount)and i was curious will they produce electricity? or just heat?what do they do?is it a good investment?here is a link to the one i would like, no reviews but it looks new to the site.
- Solar panels produce electricity. This one isn't very good. $500 for only 80W with such a large panel? It doesn't even come with a battery (car battery) If you're thinking of something to try and run your house off of, you'll need somewhere between 2 to 24 of these panels, plus a voltage converter and other equipment to connect it into the electrical system in your house. If you want something to help charge a cellphone, I guess this would work - if you could get the electrical connections set up properly - but it's still awfully expensive and won't give you a return on investment for somewhere between 5 to 20 years - by which time the panel will need to be replaced, and we'll (hopefully!) have more efficient panels available.
- Q: ok im going off grid and will have my fridge and stove running on propane but im trying to figure out that at night i want to be able to run my 32 inch lcd tv a internet modem a playstation 3 and 2 laptops and a light or 2 and maybe a floor fan through solar power and i would like to be able run my tv and stuff up to 8 hours in to the night and so i just want to know how many batterys and solar panels i need or how many watts system do i need im running all this on one outlet now at home so i know its under 20 amps and i think i use about 000 watts an hour im not sure so thats why im asking i really need help with this i hope i dont need a $5,000 system thats crazy im only wanting to spend like a $000 please dont explain math figures or a bunch of complicated garbage to me i just want a straight answer on what i need to do to be able to do this thank you!

- Q: Can solar panels be used to power a concert venue?
- Yes, solar panels can be used to power a concert venue. Solar panels can generate electricity from sunlight, which can then be used to power various electrical systems in a concert venue, including lighting, sound systems, and other equipment. Additionally, the excess electricity generated by solar panels can be stored in batteries for use during periods of low sunlight or high energy demand. By utilizing solar panels, concert venues can reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly energy source.
- Q: What would these solar panels power? For instance, my energy bill shows 2035kWh for last month. How much would this remove from that if it outputted full power? Thanks!
- A solar panel that is rated at 60 watts would produce that amount under the most favorable conditions of direct sunlight at noon in a good location. This would taper off to nothing at the beginning and ends of the daylight. A 60 watt Panel operating at full output for hour would produce 60 watt hours. If we assumed a straight line of output from zero to 60 watts and back to 0 again over 6 hours the average output would be 30 watts x 6 hours = 80 watt hours / day x 365 days = 65700 watt hours in a year / 2 = 5475 watt hours in a month. You lose about 0% converting from DC to AC. This reduces this to about 4927.5 watt hours. Your bill is measured in KW hr which are 000 times bigger. This is 4.9275 KW hr or .24% of your last month's bill. At a national average of about $.2 per KW hr the energy out put for one month would be equal to about 60 cents.
- Q: Are solar panels suitable for all climates?
- Solar panels can be suitable for a wide range of climates, but their efficiency may vary depending on factors such as sunlight intensity, temperature, and cloud cover. While solar panels can still generate electricity in cloudy or cold climates, they tend to perform best in regions with abundant sunlight. Advances in technology have made solar panels more adaptable and efficient in various conditions, making them a viable option for many different climates.
- Q: My solar panel is 24long..It is set at 45deg..the arms are 8quot;long to achieve that angle for winter. I need to get to 7deg for summer..how long will the new arms need to be?..in layman's terms please...thx
- You did not give the details of how the legs are attached to the panel. I did some calculations on my right triangle analysis application. Based on an assumption that the legs are vertical and attached to the bottom of the panel top, i calculated the legs must be 6.97 inches long. This compares favorably with the 8 inches you quoted. t If my assumption is true, the leg length for a 7 degree angle is 2.925 inches. The configuration, if my assumption is correct, will be a right triangle. The hypotenuse (longest leg of the triangle) is the panel length and the vertical legs are the supports. If my assumption is incorrect, edit your question to detail the support /panel configuration. TexMav
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on drones?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on drones.
- Q: what kind of degree do i need to get in order to know everythin about installing solar panels for houses?
- I want to warn you that very few people will need your service. Solar panels look horrible, and do very little. If it was me and i was interested in greener solutions, i would pursue a degree in environmental engineering. I think that in 0 years time that you will see roofers installing solar panels and your local contractor will be installing personal electric windmills. For this reason i do not believe that there will be much of a future in installing solar panels as a low barrier to entry will mean not much profit or job security.
