- Q: What is the best bathroom cabinet in Chengdu? Chengdu bathroom cabinet manufacturers which one of the cheap? Please tell me if you know.
- New to many ah,,, there are many such manufacturers
- Q: My husband & I are adding a bathroom to our basement. We don't have TONS of space, but have found the shower & toilet that will work (both are white). We like some of the modern styled vanities but are finding them to be ridiculously expensive $2200 - $2800 for the sink & vanity. We don't need to go dirt cheap, but we think more than $1,500 is just nuts.We actually need to keep the vanity to no more than 31 inches wide so we aren't looking for anything too big.Does anyone know of websites or brands we could check out that have bathroom sinks & vanities that are nicer than the off the shelf Home Depot & OKorders products but aren't $2grand plus?
- Check around for a place that sells Diamond brand. They are sold as Thomasville at HD, but you're paying more for the fancy name. As Diamond they are rather inexpensive, but still a decent cabinet. I would suggest asking for all plywood construction in a bathroom.
- Q: So a little help on how to disconnect pipes and whatnot
- just shut off water supplys, undo large nut on drain,,unscrew from supplys,,,and start reefing!..when you go to hook back up get new braided supply lines and pvc drain pipe, save you lots of headaches
- Q: Need some help with placement. How far from the back wall do you place recessed lights? I think I have them spaced right just unsure of how far back. My vanity counter will be 73.5" long. Installing (3) 3" 50 watt lights over the vanity. I pretty much decided to put one light on center 36.75" from side wall and the other two 18" to each side. Does that sound good? But, how far from the back wall? I would like the light to wash down the wall and reflect the light as well. I know I will need to find some other wall sconce lights for around the mirror but would like to make correct decision on the recessed for now
- Above a vanity we usually go 12' out from mirror most vanity's average 24' or so this will give you an even coverag of surface and wall. Also as other poster said if you purchase the can lights that can be positioned and moved you can always adjust slightly later if a bit unhappy.
- Q: how to make a dresser into a bathroom vanity?
- Simple, buy a sink, take the drawers out, cut a hole in the top of the dresser, put the dresser in place, install the sink, alter the drawers to fit around the plumbing. Hope this helps, good luck.
- Q: I am trying to remove a 'generic' type of dual sink vanity installed when the home was built. I see no screws securing it to the wall. Could it just be sitting there, caulked in place? I was hoping to keep it intact to use as a workbench, but if I have to start breaking it up, that's okay too :)
- It could be caulked up. I have even seen people use a kind of tape along with caulking to keep things in place. Keep looking, caulking doesn't last long.
- Q: I saw a bathroom vanity cabinet on a show about new products for kitchen and bath that was all drawers with U-shape drawers made around the sink pipes. This company had started carrying it as a stock option in their bath/kitchen cabinet line. I was wondering if anyone knows who the vendor/manufacturer is and where I could buy their products.
- Jeffrey Alexander by Hardware resources make three of them, they are called Normandy and Colonial (looks like dresser). Both are all drawers, top two are U shaped.
- Q: Previous owners left a ton of these and using vinegar + baking soda paste and Barkeeper's Friend hasn't helped lift the stains. Is there a way to bleach them out or cover them up? The vanity is white.
- If you have already tried other methods, I use 'Comet' cleanser. Dampen the area and your fingertip, apply a little of product, make a paste, rub the area carefully, rinse thoroughly. You may need to repeat a few times. If burn marks are deep, try the fine side of an emery board, gently 'sand' the area to lessen the 'burn'.
- Q: The furniture in my room is all finished, polished wood. I leave my hair & make up products on my vanity and my mom does not want the wood to be ruined so she wants me to put some kind of protective material on it to cover the wood surface. I've already tried this sticky, holey cover up but that didn't work because product would seep through. I think I may try to put a clear, book cover type material and pretty much just cover my whole vanity surface with it like I'm wrapping a present up. Any suggestions?
- Most bathroom vanities are wood and while this versatile material is commonly used in the bathroom, it's important to learn how to take care of it properly. By taking the necessary steps to protect your bathroom wood vanities, you can ensure that your vanity will last for years. When weather is very dry, moisture will evaporate from your hard wood and the furniture will shrink a bit as a result. Your bathroom wood vanities will have the opposite reaction and expand a bit due to the humidity in your bathroom. These natural changes should not affect the quality of your bathroom wood as long as you make sure your bathroom is properly ventilated to allow the wood to dry. Tips for cleaning your vanity include: Mild non-alkaline soap and water solution is fine to clean your hard wood furniture. Pretest the solution on an out of sight section to make sure it doesn't damage the finish before you proceed. Dry immediately after you clean with a soft cloth. * Wood cleaner and wax can benefit your bathroom wood vanities if they are not urethane-finished. Wax on urethane-finished surfaces will only collect dust, not repel it. * Water spots are common on bathroom wood vanities. You can remove these spots by covering the stain with a clean blotter and pressing a warm iron to the blotter. Home remedies for water spots include buffing the stain with salad oil, mayonnaise or white toothpaste. Wipe your vanity dry and then wax or polish. Protect the finish of your vanity by testing an out of sight section of your vanity before you apply any cleaner to the outside. Chances are that you'll use your bathroom wood vanity every day. Whether you have an antique, rustic, or modern vanity, taking care of your vanity will ensure that it continues to be a lovely addition to your home despite daily use.
- Q: Most retail prices for small vanities are extremely expensive. I am looking for furniture with maple finish. Thanks.
- Twenty two years ago, before it was even popular like it is today, I used an antique piece of furniture, cut a hole in the top, dropped in a scalloped porcelain sink , and transformed it into a working sink/vanity in my downstairs bathroom. And, the oak furniture piece cost only $165.00. Yes, I had to retrofit the drawers so they could still be used, but the end result is well worth my efforts. The style of the furniture is curved in front with a harp on the back for hanging towels, like an old fashioned wash sink to match my victorian bath. But you can use any other style to fit your decor. I refinished the vanity with Minwax Antique Oil Rub. The oil absorbs into the wood and is waterproof. You may be tempted to finish the wood with polyurethane and although it is waterproof, it will eventually end up getting scratched and begin to lift which will result in more maintenance that you may want to dedicate to the vanity. Whereas the oil soaks into the wood, not coating the surface like the poly. And the finish is hand rubbed, leaving a wonderful patina look to the wood. May I suggest that you skip the bathroom showrooms and go directly to the flea markets, consignment shops, antique shops and the like? You may be surprised what you can find if you have the time to shop, because if you have more time than money, you are sure to find something that will work for your application. This may not be the answer you were looking for, however, please at least consider the possibilities.
