Q:Run a air conditioner off solar panel?
This Site Might Help You. RE: Run a air conditioner off solar panel? Can someone tell me if I can run a air conditioner off solar panel? I have a ET-P65420 20Wp solar panel. What do I need to make it work? I am told I will need a Enphase Energy Microinverter M20. Is that true? I am looking to run a 5000 to 8000btu air conditioner to a max of 0000btu air...
Q:Solar Energy - What would these solar panels power?
note breath on the winds excellent answer is one quarter of one percent. See why houses aren't covered in solar panels? it's just not a real answer right now,. the rough rule of thumb is $0 per kWh ( for just the panels) you want to produce. You'd need $20,000 in panels and another 0,000 in controllers and inverters and batteries and who knows how much in installation.
Q:Solar panels and your opinion?
Solar power is still an expensive way to purchase power, as of 2007, it was 38 cents per kwh while the cost of power from coal is 0.6 cents per kwh. Of course regulations have prevented new coal power stations from being built so it's really natural gas power stations at 5 cents a kwh that solar has to compete with. Solar is dropping in price but the best you can hope for is for it to reach parity with natural gas someday soon and it hasn't yet. The other issue is that you pay up front for solar power which as any economist will tell you is even more expensive and involves greater risks. However, as part of a strategy to become as self reliant as possible when you retire and have a fixed income, it's a reasonable prospect, not only will the technology become less expensive by then but at that point, fixing the price of the energy costs is more valuable than the cost of the energy. Focusing on personal finance and learning how to invest which very few people know how to do is more important right now. When you retire, hopefully you can afford to build a passive solar home with photovoltaic solar panels and wind turbines but still on the grid for efficient net metering and with a greenhouse where you can grow the staples that you need and perhaps even some biodiesel for your google driven car. Having a reasonable portfolio is really the only way to achieve that goal.
Q:any one know about electricity solar panels?
The charger will accept whatever current is necessary from the solar panel up to 7A. It's not like the solar panel will force 2amps into the charger/battery -- the charger will control the current going to the battery. I question whether or not the 2V panel will actually charge the battery, though, because in order to charge a standard lead-acid 2V battery you need to have about 4.5 volts applied to the terminals. Perhaps the charger has a boost circuit -- I don't know without looking at it or knowing the brand/model number, etc. The timer must be 2VDC, but, if you only have a timer that is rated for 20VAC, you can buy a small inverter that will take 2V and supply the necessary 20VAC. An inverter rated for 20 to 50 Watts should be sufficient. These usually cost under US$25. .
Q:Maintenance of Solar Panel?
New solar panels are clean and shiny and they look cool. Then they get dirty with dust and debris caught on the wind and residues left behind by rain and birds. Solar panels must be regularly cleaned and maintained in order to keep them operating efficiently and maximize the amount of sunlight they convert into electricity. Unlike windows your solar system needs to have a clean and clear surface to ensure they are working at their maximum efficiency. If they are not at their optimum performance it means they are not producing the amount of electricity that they could be. Solar panels will attract dirt, dust, soot, pollen, tree sap and salt crystals in coastal regions creating a fine layer of grime. This layer reduces the amount of light reaching the silicon cells under the glass surface and reduces the panel's effectiveness. A solar panel that has never been cleaned could be producing almost a third less power than it otherwise could be. Some have reported a ten to fifteen percent loss of solar output due to dirty panels. From the ground the panels may appear to be clean, just like your windows. Up close however you can see the grime that has built up from the dirt and pollution in the air. A more noticeable deposit that can be left on panels is bird droppings. These tend to completely block the light from areas of the photovoltaic panel and can considerable reduce its effectiveness. See much more about solar panels maintenance below link
Q:solar panels and calculations?
The okorder.com The reference section has all the formulas you are looking for and there is a list of dealers by state, plus various state rebate information. Yes, you can hook up different panels to the same system. There are special controllers that regulate the voltage. I'm more of a hands on nuts and bolts guy so I can't help you with the formulas and engineering explanations. Another great place to get information is Home Power Magazine. You can get the issues online or in print. Thanks for going solar!
Q:How does a solar panel turn sunlight into electricity?
my theory is that when sunlight hits the panel it excites the electrons from the rays there by making them move more quckly and attract them to a source with less elctrons making the panel positiveli charge and the electron collector negatively charged thereby connecting the negatively charged particles to which ever body it wishes to donate it too thereby causing electric charges
Q:How do I get a grant passed for my school for solar panels?
You might do better looking at a more economical environmental project. In most parts of the US, solar panels simply don't pay for themselves over their equipment life. Schools won't be eligible for tax credits (since they don't pay taxes) and so solar panels will likely take more than 40 years to pay for themselves. The life of a solar panel is expected to be 25 years. You should, however, try to talk to the school board about things like solar water heating (which can have a very attractive payback) and light fixtures that have sockets such that they will only take compact flourescent bulbs and skylights to allow for less lighting use in classrooms and perhaps even ground source heat pumps for space heating. All of these can be quite economical, and will make more sense when installed during construction. Good luck.
Q:What is the principle of solar panels to convert solar energy into electricity?
Solar cells are a pair of light response and can convert light energy into electrical devices. There are many kinds of materials to produce photovoltaic effects, such as: monocrystalline silicon, polycrystalline silicon, amorphous silicon, gallium arsenide, selenium and other copper. Their power generation principle is basically the same, now the crystal as an example to describe the process of photovoltaic power generation.P-type crystalline silicon doped with phosphorus can be N-type silicon, the formation of P-N junction.
Q:Do grid-tied solar panel systems have to be installed professionally?
For safety purposes and liability, I do suggest that you should hire a professional solar panel installer. The solar panels has a lot of engineered like work, So better hire someone who has a fully aware for this work.
