Q: The wheel stud of rear tire of my Pontiac Sunfire 1995 broke. The wheel has 5 wheel stud and the tire is being hold with the other 4 wheel stud.I was wondering if it is ok to drive the car with 4 wheel stud?If I should change it, what else can I change since that part is being opened? Please feel free to provide feed back and suggestions in this regards. Thanks,Amr
It can be driven with 4 wheel studs but I would suggested very short distances. The stud Replacement shouldn't be that bad and it is a press fit so you may be able to do some of the work yourself if you know someone with a press. If you don't, the cost shouldn't be that bad. I do like your thinking about what to look at while having your wheel apart. The only major things you might consider is brakes or wheel bearings. breaks have to be done a s a set, and while wheel bearings don't, I high recommend they be done as a set.
Q: How is a urethane wheel made and what do they use to make a urethane wheel?
This Site Might Help You. RE: What are urethane wheels made of and how are they made? How is a urethane wheel made and what do they use to make a urethane wheel?
Q: Want to change the frame, my car is 24-inch wheel 24-inch mountain bike wheel with the size of the frame
24 inch wheels with 13 or 14 inch racks
Q: Hamster Wheel: Is this okay?
Not until the blanket suddenly bursts into flames (which it will eventually), the oil heater explodes as a result, and you burn the house down! Why would you even want to DO something so (obviously) stupid dangerous?
Q: Suppose that a belt drives two wheels of radii r and R. Assuming r 3 cm, R 6 cm, and the angular speed of the larger wheel is 1600 rpm, determine each of the following.1. the angular speed of the smaller wheel in radians per minute2. the angular speed of the smaller wheel in rpmThank you, all help appreciated.
A wheel of diameter 0.7m rolls without slipping.A point at the top of the wheel moves with a tangential speed 2m/s.At what speed is axis of the wheel moving ? What is the angular speed of the wheel?
Q: I want some Ricta wheels. Are they worth the money?
they are bomb like almost every other wheel. most wheels are made by utherane and so is ricta. good wheels though. defintly worth the money
Q: does rear wheel drive vehicles like the mr2 turn with their front wheels or the back wheels?
Front wheel drive for me. OK you can do some serious drifting in a rear wheel drive car but apparently can go into a spin fairly easily if pushed a bit too much on normal roads. Also,in this snowy weather I would prefer front wheel as the weight is at the front with the steering wheels. BUT, this is just an opinion.
Q: I want to know why are bigger wheels better in a mousetrap car?I heard that like if the wheel‘s radius is 5 times bigger than the axle it goes 5 times more the distance or something. Please explain why
The short answer is that the circumference of the wheel scales as the radius and the distance traveled is determined by the circumference. The idea goes something like this: 1) Locomotion is driven by pulling on a string that is wound around the axle. 2) When 2*pi*(radius_axle) length of string is pulled, the axle undergoes 1 rotation. 3) The number of rotations undergone by the axle the number of rotations undergone by the wheel since the wheel is mounted to the axle. 4) When the wheel undergoes 1 rotation, the distance it turns through is 2*pi*(radius_wheel) 5) conclusion: pulling on 2*pi*(radius_axle) length of string results in 2*pi*(radius_wheel) distance traversed (assuming the wheels do not slip.) Caveat: Too large a wheel is not good either. The spring pulling the string supplies a limited amount of force. This force produces (force * radius_axle) amount of torque to spin the axle. Again, because the wheel is mounted to the axle, (force available to move car) * radius_wheel (force_supplied by spring) * radius_axle. (force available to accelerate car) (force spring) * (radius_axle / radius_wheel) So the same radius ratio that provides the distance advantage via circumference also provides a force disadvantage via torque. This creates a natural limit on how big to make the wheels. Make the wheels too small and you lose the distance advantage. Make the wheels too big, and the force disadvantage will prevent your car from accelerating at all. The objective is to use as large a wheel that you can to still have enough force provided by the spring to create the torque necessary to accelerate the car.
Q: My boyfriend has recently brought a r33 skyline and its his birthday coming up and i was thinking about getting him a new steering wheel for it (one of those deep dish drifting ones) but i have no idea what im looking for haha whats the coolest one??
he should wait for the oil companies to come knocking on his door and then wait to get bought out
Q: Ok so im making a science project and ferris wheels and im making a motor powered ferris wheel.Im going to connect a fishing line to one side of the ferris wheel and the other will be attached to a motor. The motor will wind up all the string and it will stop. How do i make it go the other way?Or if you know any other way to make it.Please and Thanks
Dont tie it directly to motor or ferris wheel. The ferris wheel should be tied right in the middle for starters with the motor directly below it. Make an O out of the fishing line and hook it around the motor and ferris wheel. If it slips you could wrap the motor part and ferris wheel part that come in contact with the string with a rubber band for traction. Make sure the string is tight around the ferris wheel connection and motor connection. The string should act like a belt the just continually spins the wheel by the motor. Hope this helps!
