I had the same situation occur when I got my scaffold/industrial done. I wouldn't be too concerned. The lumps are called hypertrophic scars, and supposedly they are pretty common and are caused by overcleaning, harsh products, or (as I think was my case) general irritation from the jewelry moving repeatedly back and forth through the piercing or being bumped around or rubbed/touched. Mine lasted quite a long time. Try leaving your piercing alone for a couple of days. Then salt water solutions or compresses are supposed to help the lumps to heal, and I also used tea tree oil and neosporine intermittently. Hot compresses like a heated washcloth applied to the area help to reduce the lumps, as well. Sometimes it's recommended to try another type of jewelry, like titanium, or switch temporarily to two separate bars. You might also try finding a really gentle cleanser/soap. I just kept my original piercing, using the above techniques off and on, and after months of the lumps remaining red and sore, they just went away totally. Just keep your eye out for any pussing (hypertrophic scars ooze, but they don't usually pus), increased swelling, and the area feeling very hot- these are signs of infectiona nd you should see your doc right away. Well of course it depends on the person. Some people say the piercing isn't bad at all, while some say it is really painful. Some people say the healing process is absolute hell, but for some people it's a breeze. I got an industrial 3 months ago, and i would rate the actual piercing process as a 8/10 (10 being the most painful). It was pretty painful in my opinion, but the good thing is that the pain doesn't last long at all. Most people i know who have industrials say that the healing process is more painful than getting the piercing, but for me it was the complete opposite. Immediately after the piercing it throbbed and was a tiny bit sore for about an hour, then for the next 2 days it was completely painless. But after that, it was pretty sore for about 2-3 weeks, but it wasn't that bad. Now after having it 3 months, it still feels a bit uncomfortable when i sleep on it, sometimes it's a tad bit sore, but no big deal at all :)

Q:i have an interview tomorrow but have a scafold piercing in , its been in there for about 2/3 months nearly healed competely , how ling can i leave it out for , maybe 30-45 minutes? thanks

They take around 6-9 months to heal completely...you shouldn't be taking it out at all. I stupidly took mine out after 3 months to clean a bit behind the bar and the bar would never go back through the top hole. It hurt like crap and bled profusely if I tried to push it through.

Q:I know the ivy sort of glues itself to whatever surface with little sticky pads so that will take care of itself on the back of my house but can I use the existing Ivy for the wisteria to grab onto and climb up or will the wisteria be too heavy and pull the ivy down? I'd rather avoid having to build something for the wisteria to wrap itself around. Any suggestions? Thanks! : )

No, ivy isn't that strong. One can easily unzip it from the walls. Wisteria is way too heavy for ivy. Plus you have the root competition down below. Ivy creates an incredible dense mat of roots , little grows with it. Wisteria would have quite a battle on its hands for root space and nutrients.

You sound like you have a low tolerance for pain if you say you're a wimp haha, which means yeah it'll probably hurt you. It'll hurt more than the lobes because it's cartilage, and for the same reason you'll hear a popping noise as the hole is made. You won't be taken over by deathly pain or anything like that, it'll probably be sensitive for a few days after too so careful not to knock it against anyone/ anything. But if you want it bad enough, the pain will be bearable.
