One of the main things that effects carpet price is the composition. The 2 main compositions are polyester and nylon. Polyester is the kind that seems to clog up my vaccum with thread residue. Polyester is inferior to nylon. It will not last as long as nylon, but you will pay less. All types of carpet, berber, cut piles, cutloops come in all price ranges. I, personally, don't prefer berber as I have cats that will take up the loops and it's super casual. If you go to one of the big box stores, you will be safe with a nylon in a $2.50/sqft range. It won't be top quality, but it won't be contractor-quality either. When you're searching for carpet (what a task!) you'll want to pay attention to the face weight as well. That is, essentially, how much a carpet weighs per sqft or sqyd (or, how much thread is it composed of). The higher the face weight, ordinarily the more resilient the carpet will be in the long haul. The best carpets have a face weight over 70 or so. The commerical or contractor grade carpets are usually in the 30's. Best of luck!

I haven t used it yet, but has anyone ever used it in their carpet cleaner or know if it ll mess it up? Thanks!: Don't use it in your carpet cleaner. The sales associate is clueless. Nature's Best is an enzyme destroyer. It's used to pull animal urine out of carpets and underlay. To work properly, the product is applied LIBERALLY to the area, using enough to completely soak the carpet and underlay all the way down to the subfloor. As it dries, it pulls the ammonia from the urine out of the carpet and carpet pad. Most carpet cleaners do not spray enough liquid to totally soak through the carpet AND underlay. And the enzymes work as they dry.. It's a waste of money to suck up all of the product you just put on the carpet to clean out the odor. I'd suggest using Nature's Miracle first. After a few days, when the product has finished working and there is no more odor, steam clean your carpets as you normally would to clean them.

You need to make sure that the carpet runs the exact same way or you will notice it. To see the difference take a peice of carpet and lay it next to your other carpet and see if it is noticeable. if so you have it running the opposite way. turn it and see if it runs the same way. then you need some carpet tape that you need use carpet iron with to seem the carpets together. If your not experienced in carpet laying I would suggest you get a carpet professional to lay the new peice in so that you won't be able to tell. or for a quick fix, you can buy carpet neutralizer for the urine smell but you would have to peel the carpet up and the padding and treat the sub floor with it and the padding and the carpet. It will neurtalize the urine and stop the smell.
