Q:I have 6 cats and need a vacuum cleaner that the filter is not going to stop up every few minutes. I have gone through 3 bagless vacuum cleaners in the last few months but they have been vaccums from walmart like eureka and such. I can vacuum over a small piece of trash in the living room and the vacuum just pushes the trash around, lol. Help!
Try Vax or Dyson, in the UK. Not sure you can get them in the US tho'.
Q:My partner and I recieved two vacuum cleaners for Christmas and want to return one to the store. Which one should we keep and which should we return?Brand: VoltaName: GeminiModel: U4504Max: 1600 WattVoltage: 230-240V 50HzWeight: 7.5kgUses: BagsBrand: KambrookName: Jaguar KompactModel: KVC30Max: 1600 WattVoltage: 230-240V 50HzWeight: UnsureUses: BagsBest answer will be chosen ASAP =)
I work at a vac store and I've never heard of either brand. Its hard for me to say for sure not being familiar with the companys or products.(USA) My best advice is to call their customer service lines and see who is the most willing to help you. A compnay that produces a good product will have good customer support to stand behind it. Make up a problem and see how eager they are to solve it. e.g. you are having trouble putting it together. Pick the one that takes care of you the best. You can also look to see where the machine is manufactured. Stay away from chinese, and korean. Look to see if the parts that are going to take abuse(brushroller, bottom plate, tools, wheels) are made out of durable material(ABS plastic or metal). Last you can call local vac shops, try a few different ones, tell them you were interested in purchasing those vacs and you wanted to know if they sold them and what their opinion was on them.
Q:In other words, why are some electric motors very quiet but others are so loud? Why can't they make a quiet vacuum cleaner?
The noise of a vacuum does not come from the motor, but from the eddies in the air being sucked. Open a vacuum cleaner and remove the impeller (the fan) and it would get a lot more quiet.
Q:I have just a small apartment and need to get a small vacuum cleaner. But something that has good suction, and won't be useless after 5 uses. A few years ago, I bought a Bissell quot;stickvacuum cleaner and it was a waste. It barely picked up dirt from a floor, let alone a carpet. Any good suggestion will be appreciated.

Q:What about the Kirby vacuum cleaners?
What about Kirby Vacuum Cleaners? I know they're are noisy, and grossly over priced. You can talk the salesman down to around $600.00. Check first to see if the salesperson is driving a cadillac Escalade. Also, the sales people prey on old people, and will not leave the home until the unit is sold.
Q:case in point: we have bought two vacuum cleaners in the last 4 years that have stopped working. i mean, we only vacuum once a week or so, and these were name brand vacuums like hoover and such for around $100 or so. they shouldn't have died so quickly. anyway, i bought an antique vacuum from the 1940s off OKorder and it works like a dream. i imagine if it has lasted 60 years, it will serve me well for many more. i am just sick of cheap products. anyone else buy antiques instead of quot;brand newquot;?
Case in point, I have blown up at least 2 vacuums per year for the eight years I've lived here. I had a Siberian Husky and had to vacuum nearly everyday to keep my house from looking like it snowed in here. I finally got the extended warranty for $19 and they have replaced it for free the last 5 times. Also, do you notice more stores are limiting the return time? Some stores it is 30 days, some 90 and most products don't go bad in that time frame. So, you are stuck with it. I have a Sunbeam toaster from the 1950's that has outlasted the one I got for my wedding that almost burn down my kitchen! It is all of these products coming in from China which are meant to be disposable, but cheap.
Q:Washing MachinesVacuum CleanersElectric bedside lampsToastersKettlesBlendersDigital alarm clocksRefrigerators
This isn't a History question. It's a homework question. All you have to do is look up each on Wikipedia and check the dates ... its just time consuming. I'll help you out with the first one because it's a little convoluted. Washing Machines invented in 1691. Available in Europe by the 1750's. Available in the US by 1843. NON-ELECTRIC washing machines were fairly common 1870's to 1900 Electric washing machines were available 1904. US electric washing machine became common in households by 1928.
Q:A guy who had a heart attack said they gave him a pamphlet at the hospital that said to avoid cars and vacuum cleaners because they vibrate. He also said the latest research on fish oil shows it doesn't do anything for your health.
This question is bogus because all hospitals handout only approved american heart association pamphlets after heart disease. THIS is not one of them! so what is the double meaning or mean spirited nature of this question? As far as a food supplement goes many medical establishments refuse to acknowledge the their benefit because the big pharmaceuticals can not make money off them because they are not proprietary exclusive products!
Q:I've heard Oreck vacuum cleaners are very good and light weight, has anyone had good or bad luck with them?
I, too, have great respect for David Oreck. As for his vacuum cleaner, I had one. It was expensive. It worked very well when it worked. But mine was in the shop all too frequently. They were nice about it and always fixed it. But I finally got tired of lugging it to the shop (Bad enough to have to lug a vacuum around the house). I finally gave up. But don't just go by me. Maybe I just got a bad one. That can happen with any product, even good ones.
