Q: When I try to start my car, the engine doesn't even rev, the car just makes kind of an electrical noise and the Theft System light comes on. Does anyone know of a way to fix this?: Does your car has an after market alarm or auto start? Your ignition cyl switch could be worn out. Also is your battery full charged reading 12.9 volts?.

Q: Both having the same engine size (4Cyl) 2.5 and autotrans. difference between S and LS is the premium sound system, automatic roll up windows on both the driver and passenger side, auto lights, foglamps, and in some cases with Navigation system instead of 6CD changer BOSE. Q: First it said o2 front sensor and shift sensor problem fixed o2 light went out. After driving for 20 minutes engine light on again this time it said shift sensor and ets off. the car still runs and drives ok except for it will hesitate when taking off al most like it is not getting gas if you pump the pedal it will be fine. had the engine light reset. now the o2 rear is not working right got part but haven‘t fixed it yet. Now I can put the car in first and it moves second and it ok 3rd it‘s ok this is an auto transmission the car drive fine till the ets off and engine light come on again then it will hesitate taking off can some one help I hope this makes sense: First change the O2 sensor rear. The engine has to be running as new before anymore transmission symptoms are diagnosed. Engine turns the transmission which pumps transmission fluid, and fluid pressure shifts the gears. If the engine runs bad then the shift will be bad.

Q: continues to come on and the diagnostic test at Auto Zone said that an error has occurred due to the gas cap being left off. the only problem is that the gas cap is on so the diagnostic test is wrong. what is really causing the check engine light to come on??: If that is the case then the gas cap is not sealing, or holding pressure like it should. So unfortunately it would need to be replaced.

Q: It came on early in the morning. My plan was to stop by my auto shop on the way home from work and get it checked out. On the way there, the car started to shut down (first the radio display, then the headlights, then the airbag light came on) until it finally died all together. I had the old battery and alternator checked out, both tested good but I swapped out the battery after cleaning the terminals on the old one and the car dying again soon after. After the new battery was installed, it is still giving me the Charging System Failure message, although everything in the car (headlights, cluster, dome light) are all on and significantly brighter. I‘ve looked at the electrical system fuses and none of them appear blown. The only thing I can think of is it is still the alternator or I have a short somewhere that is draining my battery. Any help would be appreciated.: Sounds like an alternator issue. You can take it off and have it tested at most auto parts stores.

Q: 2003 Ford Expedition 5.4L The overdrive light begins to flash only at low rpms (less then 1000) or at a stop. Once the rpms go above 1000 or so the light turns off. Its also not consistent. Sometimes its after it warms up, other times it turns on almost immediately. The transmission doesn‘t slip, it doesn‘t jerk or clunk. Other then the light turning on now you would never know there is an issue The mechanic that we took it to, said it was a fluid sensor, but we couldn‘t afford to fix it at the time. But now we no longer know exactly which sensor to change. I know its in the pan, because they suggested changing the filter at the same time, since they had to remove the pan anyways. I‘ve looked for any and all sensors, but none that i have seen seem to fit the description of a fluid sensor. Which sensor is the likely culprit? Any help would be appreciated.: Find a better mechanic. You need to get codes scanned or don't bother firing the parts cannon at that transmission. AutoZone's scanners may not be good enough to pull codes for you, though, so just find a better shop.

Q: This is a great little SUV. I‘ve been the only owner since I bought it Jan 2000. The only major problem I‘ve had in 7 years is the dealer changed out the cam shafts in 2005. Now the battery light is coming on. Does anyone know what a battery light on the dash indicator could mean? I‘ve looked on automotive forums and many have said to check the ground for the alternator or the alternator is going bad. I hope it‘s just the grounding. HELP!! Q: My 04 Jeep Cherokee check engine light came on this morning. I was warming up the car for about 15 minutes, and upon my getting into the car to leave, noticed the light.It has 69,000 miles on it as of today, and I had the oil changed about 3 weeks ago. I checked the gas cap and it was on properly.Is this a ploy by the manufacturer to get me to the dealer around 70,000 miles? Or is there an actual problem?: It is probably the gas cap. It may have a crack in the rubber seal. If its not the gas cap there is probably an EVAP leak. It happens to Jeeps all the time
