Q:I have a 2000 GMC Sierra with the 5.3 and 4x4. Sometimes the ABS and Brake lights come on at the same time and sometimes they don‘t. I had it scanned at AutoZone and no codes showed up. It stops just fine and I can‘t seem to find any issues with the brakes. Anyone know what could be wrong?

Q:My husband got an 01 s10 4.3 automatic. The check engine light is on and we took it to auto zone, and they said it‘s the secondary air injection system fault. Does anyone know what this could be? Probable causes could be circuit relay or fuse open, check connection and wiring or air pump defective or hose blocked. They did one of those check engine scans. My husband has already changed the air filter and a pcv vowel, but it keeps coming back on. We have to have it MD inspected within 30 days before the tags expire and my husband is leaving for the military in less than two weeks.

cle's advice is WRONG. The state inspectors will immediately determine that a trouble code is stored in the computer and they will fail your inspection. The secondary air injection system is a series of hoses and an air pump. It blows outside air into the exhaust manifold to help complete combustion of the exhaust before it reaches the catalytic converter. There's a mess of issues with this system from something as minor as a blown fuse to water that's gotten inside the pump and corroded it. This really isn't a do it yourself repair, unless you want to start throwing parts at the problem. I know money is tight, but you really will be money ahead if you find a good shop that has knowledge about this particular problem. Call around and ask them specifically if they've worked on the S-10 secondary air injection system. Also ask them if they are familiar with the 2 GM Technical Service Bulletins on this issue. If they are, tell them your husband is in the service and ask if they offer a service discount.

Q:did it . now driving it in to word the windshield wipers were very slow making me think it not charging. any ideas???? already cleaned posts. already put new battery.

DUH? OK. If you have a brand new battery and it's not charging, and If you're smarter than the people at Auto Zone who already told you what the problem is. what do YOU think is wrong with it?

Q:I recently had my check engine light come on, but then after a few days it went off, now it is back on. So, I took it to Advance Auto Parts and used their diagnostic testing machine and it came back as Emissions Control System Leak EVAP(Large).Does that mean I possibly might just have to replace the gas cap or is it somewhere in the hoses or the vacuum itself? If anyone could help, please do so thanks!

Most common is the gas cap leak. I would replace that fist if that doesn't help it could be a leak in a line.

Q:I just purchased a 2007 Subaru Legacy GT with about 140k miles on it. It has been driving just fine for 2 days, but I decided to fuel up with mid grade gas instead of the recommended premium, and now the check engine light is of with the flashing green cruise light. Could the mid grade gas cause this? The engine still sounds fine and I don‘t see any other problems.

First off will someone else report Sean so they will throw him off answers. The grade of fuel will not make a big difference and will not turn the engine light on nor would the light come on if you need a oil change. It will come on if you didn't put the fuel cap on tight. It would be best to have the code read at a auto parts store that does that for free, then you will at least know what the code is for.

Q:m airbag and service light are stck on even tho i hav checked and tried everythi to get them off

Well if it's a 1995 or newer,there's a plug under the dash that you can go to any auto zone or place like it and their analyzer can shut the lights off but if there's a problem,they will come back on fairly quick.I bought a analyzer for $69.I have used it 100's of times!! ps.SOMETIMES,disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes or so will reset the system.Good Luck. Try the battery disconnect.But if theirs A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR BAG SYSTEM,It wont go off.But I think the battery diss. is best right now.But it sounds like there's a problem with the airbag system.

It's only about 15% over the bulb's rating. It will probably be extremely bright and will burn out sooner than otherwise. but should work OK.

Q:My "Service Engine Soon" light has been on and off for a couple weeks. I really don't know squat about cars and have always just taken them to get their oil changed and all that. What could be wrong?

There is a problem with the vehicles emission system. Go to Autozone or Advance Auto and they can tell what the error code is and direct you to someone that can fix it, if you do not want to do it yourself.
