- it could be ok at a few inches however i personally had experience where it had to be a few feet but only with power going to a florecent light... whenever light was turned on i lost net yet cat5 could be run right next to light itself or other power lines no problem.. fyi, no one could figure it out, even qwest dsl service people ( 3 in all) - ended up having to be 3 feet from just that certain power line

- Normally, when I do systems, I run it through the hole in the firewall, that was factory drilled for the antenna wire. Unfortunately, I dont think the antenna in this car is located up front, so. People run wires through the door. I personally don't like this, because you can see.. My personal opinion, would be to drill a hole on the passenger side, underneath the dash,and fill the gaps with silicone and run your wires down the side of the door, pushed under the plastic.

You know how it supposed to have a positive and a negative pins? well they are both the same. I know that the wall outlet has the little whole and the bigger one. I've seen some AC power cables that only have the little flat pins so they fit on the wall outlet. My cable has two of the big flat pins... so I can't plug it in the outlet. - The hot side of outlets has a smaller socket dimension, and that's supposed to prevent a plug that has an assigned neutral from being plugged in with the neutral (wider blade) side connected to the hot side. If your plug has two of the wider blades, then that does sound like a manufacturing defect. I'd complain to the manufacturer or vendor. Hopefully the power cord is removable, so you don't have to return the whole unit.
- Q:I'm installing aftermarket amp and subwoofers in the trunk. I currently as a temporary fix ran the cable outside and in through the passenger door on the car, then under the carpet to the trunk. Is there a break in the firewall anywhere that I can put it through instead? Thanks for your help!
- well honestly im not familiar with preludes but what you do is pull the carpet down a little under the gas and brake pedel the should be a clearing spot in the fire wall from steering colum speedo cable or electrical. it wont look like much of hole but there will be a rubber plug take a flathead and scoot it out then run your power cable through that-wraping it with protective cover where it will lie in the firewall(so it dont cut the plastic and short something out) then tuck all the wires under the carpet along the runningboards. be patient it takes a while but in the end when you can see no wires it looks great

- An internal drive would be powered by your power supply. If you don't have any additional SATA power cords in your PC, I believe you can by a 4 prong to SATA converter. Otherwise you may have to look at getting a new power supply for your PC that has more SATA power adapters

- It could also be the power supply, at one point I had to upgrade to a higher wattage power supply in order to support it running another piece of hardware (video card). All of the above options are possible, but if you have a low wattage power supply that could be something to check on also.
- Q:I just bought a new motherboard and it had a 24 pin power thingy, my power supply was only a 20 pin. After looking at my manual it said I was able to do that if I aligned them a specific way. After that PC turns on, the lights turn on, hard drives turn on, and everything else. the thing is the screen stays black and says no signal.I was looking on the motherboard and there is a 4 pin ATX12V1, but there is no such cable that comes out of my power supply. I think the reason the screen stays blank is because it said that was used to power the CPU. What can I do since I do not have a ATX12V1 cable that connects to my motherboard?The only cables that come out of my pwr supply are for the IDE and floppy.
- Buy okorder for little to nothing depending on what you are looking for. Gaming and lighted ones are going to cost a little more but you should be able to pick one up cheap!!! Hopefully you bought the correct motherboard! But you are definitely going to have to have the correct power supply to feed the proper amount of power to your CPU! ;-)
