- Q:Why is my 2 Gage power cable from the battery to my amp is to hot and makes a big spark and burns the wire when you meet one end to the other end?
- Too hot means the current is very high. Probably in excess of 200 amps. I suspect there is a short in the amp, specially if you tried to connect it hot and drew a spark. That will kill a lot of electronics. .

- Flexible cables for use at low voltage e.g. for mains adaptors and speakers, are probably good for at least 100 volts. They are usually rated for current, and are well over-engineered, so anything rated from 1 amp up will work fine. I wouldn't use a cable rated for more than, say 3 amps because there will be more chance of a thicker cable shorting out in the plug - there isn't a lot of space between the terminals.

- NO!! Don't do that - I got a hard drive in for repair recently where someone did that - she said it fitted so I thought it would be ok, it's got loads of data I need on that drive can you recover it? I was like - not any more I can't. 20v will blow the hard drive. If the PSU has gone on your external drive your best solution is to take the screws out of the external hard drive casing and open it up. You will find inside you have just a standard SATA hard drive.

- Yes sometimes you gotta pull or gently wiggle these power cords off. I have trouble with some systems and i dont know what it is but I will gently take a pair of pliers and pull it off if i can't wiggle them out. Be careful not to squeeze, i just use it for grip because i have fat fingers....Good luck.

- Look for a grommet around the steering column or brake pedal. Using a screwdriver from inside the car, poke a hole and with a piece of coat hanger, tape your wire to it and pull it through towards the engine side. If you can't find a grommet, drill a hole and put a grommet in.The center of the grommet should slide easily over the wire and drill the hole the same size as the grommets outer diameter in the groove. The fuse should be no more tha 18 from the battery. _______ (sigh) Technically, running your RCA wires and power wires shouldn't cause any problems and can be dubbed a myth.
