Q: My ets light and check engine light are on, on a 1999 chevy cavalier. My car also shifts hard, I have had someone tell me that it could be the tps sensor. Does anyone know if this is the case ??? Thank you: ETS stands for Enhanced Traction System. The Check Engine light means the emissions system has a problem. Have the computer scanned for the codes at an auto parts store and let us know what the codes are. Then we can try to help you.

Q: I have a 1992 Geo Prizm (same as a Toyota Corolla). The battery and alternator were replaced last March. The problem is that since then the battery and brake indicator light flashes on the dashboard intermittently. Sometimes it will come on for 2 minutes and not come on again for a month. Other times it flickers for half an hour every time I am driving. It seems a lot worse in the cold weather or when the car has been sitting for days without running. I noticed that when it does flicker on, the headlights dim slightly. What is going on? Any ideas?: My automobile did a similar ingredient. Had the alernater examined and the guy reported it may could get replaced in a twelve months or so yet OS sturdy interior the propose time. It wasn't. Q: I have a 2000 Mustang (V6) and the check engine light is on. I took it do Advance auto to have it checked and they told me the code is P0411 and it says Secondary Air Injection System Incorrect Flow.I called a Ford dealer and they of course told me to bring it up there for them to charge me 200.00 just to look at the thing. They said it could be one of several different problems. The car seems to be driving just fine but the light is bothersome. Could someone please tell me what might be wrong with the car.Thank you!: it could be a few things ! it might be one of the wheel sensors !

Q: I have no idea what that means.my check engine light has been on for forever and I never had it checked because my car wasnt acting wierd (yea i know i know big mistake) but anyways, I went to Auto Zone because my air conditioning quit getting cold. Q: The goal here is just having cars see us, not headlights etc. battery operated Christmas lights might work, but i am afraid because of the cold weather, the AA batteries would run out quickly, and may not be bright enough so cars can really see us. Q: The engine idles and runs rough and I smell gas when I start it.: There's about 500 things that can turn the light on. You have to get the trouble code from the computer then go from there.

Q: I have a 96 Ford Explorter and the 4WD light sstart flashing at around 30 MPH. this is on going and no one can give me an answer. They actually shut off totally but it seems I still am in 4WD.: Obviously, there's a problem in your A4WD system that is being detected by the GEM (generic electronic module, the module that controls your A4WD system). The problems CAN be either the 4X4 electric shift motor or wiring open or short in the system, the switch (as Dodgeman posted), mechanical internal problem with the transfer case (4X4 doesn't engage or disengage due to stuck or broken parts), and last but not least a failed GEM module (highly unlikely). As you can see, it's not a cut and dry problem that can easily be answered here. I can only say that it will become needlessly expensive if you start throwing parts at it in hopes of fixing the problem, instead of having it diagnosed properly by either the dealership (best choice), or someone familiar with the workings of your 4X4 system.

Q: my bmw 1988 528e is dying my battery. I have replaced my battery as well as my alternator?: The electrical system in this vehicle is not that complex. But you wil need external amp probe to monitor the amp draw in the vehicle. Gaining acsess to the fuse pannel. Remove fuse one by one until draw no longer is present. This way you find what circut the draw is on. From there you find a wirring diagram and unplug the diffrent things on the circut. Clamp on amp probe availible at auto parts store cheap. Since this is a older vehicle anything over 100ma is to much.

Q: 2001 Chevy Cavalier, bi-fuel.: First of all, you cant just get the light turned off and pass emmissions. The monitors will not be ready and you will fail. Secondly, replacing the battery wont reset the memory. You did what you could do, replacing the cap which was the correct thing to do (and cheapest). Now what you need to do is go to a shop and pay to have the system smoked. This will identify the source of the leak. Most of the time the actual repair is very inexpensive however most reputable places will charge one hours labor 100 dollars for the diag fee.

Q: I went to Auto Zone and got codes. Yikes I have 5 different ones. Guy said all but the first could be linked to transmission. So here‘s the codes: PO171system to lean, bank ox; PO743torque converter, circuit electrical; PO1401Manf. control auxiliary, emissions controls; PO1507Manf. control veh. speed, Idle speed control, auxiliary inputs; PO1744Manf. Control, transmission. I had the transmission replaced with used one last year. It seems OK, but after I drive it a while the OD light starts flashing. But the real rough idle when car is stopped is really bothering me. It is worse when it is in drive, but still bad when in nuetral or park, so it may be related to transmission. It reminds me of the way a stock car idles, but my car is far from being race car. PLEASE help! Also, if you know where I can get suggested parts at a good price please let me know.: Possibly a blown fuse?
