- Keyboards will eventually go bye bye. Unfortunately you will have to either live with it or buy a new keyboard. Otherwise you could try air-dusting the keys.

- I wouldn't know how competitive Dvorak is to the Qwerty keyboard but since it is rarely used, a big disadvantage to using Dvorak is that it is hard to use any other computer without your layout. Some other cons would be that it takes awhile to learn a new keyboard layout and most laptops only come equipped with Qwerty. And I would know from experience that Dvorak does allow you to type faster, since your most commonly used keys are the eight buttons you rest your fingers on. It really helped me to touch type, because I was able to memorize the keyboard since I couldn't constantly look at the keys since I was using a Qwerty board.

- You could type Chinese on your keyboard if you wish to. Chinese keyboards are exactly the same size as ours. There are various methods of typing Chinese. You can type by entering pinyin, or you can type phonetically (Chinese is made up from monosyllables) - there are various methods of typing. Only difference is that Chinese keyboards may have small characters next to each letter.

- Have you tried plugging the keyboard directly to the PC keyboard port and not thru the adapter?I'm assuming the desktop has a P/S2 port. If yes, then it is possible the keyboard is drawing much more power than the USB ports can provide. Try the following: 1. Check to see that all pins in the keyboard connector are straight and none broken 2. Use a different USB adapter If none of these works, you probably have a dead keyboard.

- yes although, it can be tricky look for a USB keyboard or full sized keyboard specifically made to be used for a laptop. as many laptops will not have the ps/2 port that a traditional/old keyboard utilizes. there are tiny gizmos that are convertors. ps/2 to USB that often come with keyboards. but make sure it does, if you're getting a keyboard of that type. as far as how it'd exactly work once connected to your laptop i'm sure it's a simple matter of going to control panel/keyboard and making sure the new keyboard is there and or switching to it. Or it may just naturally recognize itand you do nothing. would depend on the laptop.

- A gaming keyboard won't make your K/D better, don't worry. If you don't care about gimmicks just about any keyboard will do. I'd advise not getting a REALLY cheap one though, they tends to break fairly quickly. Logitech make good stuff, and not to expensive either.

- I play all three, Guitar, Piano and Violin. I learned Piano and Violin when I was young. I like the Violin also but it will never give you the satisfaction that playing piano will. Piano also teached music theory that will help you with the Guitar. It may be easy to pick up the Violin since you already are used to fingerings and having one hand move opposite to the other. Violin is OK if you are going to use it somewhere, otherwise I hardly ever play it . I can sit at the piano and amuse myself for a long time. However, playing Guitar is the best, how cool is that?
