I was having this same problem, but fixed it by disabling something. I hope this will work for you too. Follow these instructions: StartControl PanelNetwork Connectionsright click on your wireless cardPropertiesWireless Networks tabclick on the wireless router connection you havePropertiesmake sure the Data Encryption is disabled, and the Network Authentication is set to Open. Like I said, this worked for me, but it might not work for you. If no one else's suggestions help, I would contact your ISP or whoever made your computer/router. ie: Dell. Good luck to you!

Sounds like overheating!!! When you have a laptop, and you put it on your lap, the vents are blocked and the air flow isnt very good. So much for laptop huh?

Dell for sure. There is no way i would buy acer over dell. Dell laptops use very high quality parts and do not break near as fast/often as other brands. While Acer is not the worst brand, they are below average. The Dell Inspiron 1525 is a great laptop. I only recommend Dell HP.

Er no. You laptop is a laptop and a router is a router. Each is built for a specific job. If you have a router, just connect the Ethernet cable to that and connect it to your Xbox. You shouldn't need to use the cable to connect the router to your laptop anyway if you have a wireless-enabled laptop.
