Q:crane jumper?
I googled crane jumper and came up with nothing. Not to say there isn't such a creature, that could be a regional name for it, it might be called something else.
Q:What is the most amount of weight lifted by any crane?
Buffalo Hydraulic built a crane for NASA to lift their launch pads. The heavy one weighed about 5.4 million pounds, but the crane could handle 9 million if it had to.
Q:How to subdue an injured crane?
If you have a pillow case then put it over it's head. then wrap say a towel round it's body to prevent any damage to it's wings and you. Then get it off to a rescue centre or vet/ Wildlife Warden
Q:a question about ichabod crane? ten points!?
Here is a simpler way to describe how he looked. tall but exceedingly lank Narrow shoulders long arms and legs hands that dangled a mile out of his sleeves feet that might have served as shovels whole frame loosely hung together head small, flat at top huge ears large green glassy eyes long snipe nose spindle neck (later compared to a grasshopper because of his posture on horseback trying to get away from the headless horseman.) He wasn't exactly ugly. He was full of himself. He thought he was the smartest person in town. He took advantage of people. (all but Katrina, who took advantage of him.) He also believes in all the myths, legends, and tall tales to be taken literally. He is frightened by anything that reminds him of ghosts or demons. That is why he is so frightened by the headless horseman. Hope I helped. I am also reading the legend of sleepy hollow at the moment for school. I have to do an essay on what he looks like and acts like. So I looked it up and found this. Hope it helps you.
Q:The most dangerous among crane accidents are:?
Dangerous to whom and exactly what does overturns mean? Operators are most likely to be killed when a tower crane breaks (is this an overturn?) because the operator is several hundred feet up in the air in the cab. Hitting power lines can be risky to the operator if dumb but staying in the cab is likely to be safe (stepping out may kill in touching ground) Overturning a ground based crane is going to hurt someone in the area much of the time.
Q:Looking for printable information on safety about having a dog w/u while operating a crane?
Every city and every state has their own set of rules, where there are any. Also, the federal government has rules also. and the contractor has a set of rules also. And if you are in a union, they have a set too. So it depends on the country, state, city you are in. Do a search for Philadelphia Crane operator rules on google, for example. But i doubt any of them will say dogs are allowed. However, probably none of them will mention a dog at all, the assumption being that common sense will tell any competent operator that dogs and cranes do not mix. And I doubt any of them say pet snakes not allowed either. .
Q:what is with the rash of crane accidents this year?
Accident Reports Received for year 2007: 347 Deaths for 2007: 176 Accident Reports Received for year 2006: 314 Deaths for 2006: 109 Accident Reports Received for year 2005: 231 Deaths for 2005: 127 Accident Reports Received for year 2004: 287 Deaths for 2004: 142 Accident Reports Received for year 2003: 269 Deaths for 2003: 138 Accident Reports Received for year 2002: 171 Deaths for 2002: 96 Accident Reports Received for year 2001: 161 Deaths for 2001: 107 Accident Reports Received for year 2000: 184 Deaths for 2000: 74 (It gets really scary when you look at the increase of deaths in just a few short years.)
Q:The Open Boat by Stephen Crane-setting and relationship to the theme?
I can't tell you what to write or what you see as the theme but one of the themes in the book is man versus nature. Maybe you could discuss the setting as part of nature and what Crane seems to be saying about it. One thing that might help is a poem Crane wrote which explains how he sees things. Maybe you already know it. It's titled A man said to the universe A man said to the universe, Sir, I exist! However, replied the universe the fact has not created in me a sense of obligation. An indifferent universe. Not unlike how Thomas Hardy saw things.
Q:Are there crane flies in Lyon, France?
I have lived and worked in Lyon and have never seen a crane fly in the built up area of the city, even when they are at their most active, which is in June. There are some that fly about in gardens but in any case they are harmless even though some people are freaked out by the way they fly. It is their grubs, the Leather Jackets, which are hated by gardeners as they are detrimental to lawns.
Q:Is the Stephen Crane Short Story The Bride Comes To Yellow Sky a Big Fat Parody?
I have to say no. Your question erred in a significant way. Hollywood didn't create this false image of the West. The false image was created a long time before by people living in the age of the incidents. It didn't take publishers long to notice that people living back East enjoyed these gritty depictions of the West. Dime novels were a big seller in the 18th and 19th centuries. Look at Stephen Crane. He died in 1900. Hollywood was non-existent as the facet of American life that it holds now. Crane would have been writing this story with the idea that he was depicting a real slice of the wild West that was becoming more civilized.
