Q:my sister would like to know this for some strange and bizzar reasion
It depends on how many people are making them. Depending on skill it takes about 2-5 minutes to make a crane. If you dedicate 5 hours a day that makes 7-50 days if one person is making them. Cranes are often made for memorial. It is a Japanese tradition, especially for Hiroshima. You make 1000 cranes as a memorial for the lost lives. She should definitely get her friends to help.
Q:Iv done some research and I cant seem to find a place that might sell jibs locally here in Phoenix. Iv been considering the ProAm DVC 200 crane but I would also like to see others in like a store. If anyone has any info it would be appreciated!
I went down that path last year in the SF Bay Area in California. I could not find a store that carried any cranes or jibs - so I just started asking around. Stay away from any that use cables to keep the stage steady - we used one at a shoot - setting up is an interesting challenge. I thought I wanted the same unit you are looking at - and decided I needed to trust the crane a bit more with my HDR-FX1... I had to wait longer to save more $, but I really like the crane and tripod kit I ended up with... from Kessler Crane... I never got to see it before I bought it and I was, um... nervous... but I am glad I made the investment - and Eric Kessler is REALLY helpful and great to work with. One of the other cranes I looked at uses a heavy duty PA speaker stand as its tripod base. After watching light trees and PA speakers fall over because of leg failure, I could not bring myself to trust them to hold my camcorder. I can STAND or JUMP on the Kessler tripod and it does not budge. It is rock-steady and really strong. The Hercules head is silk-smooth and the crane-arm and camera stage are steady and easy to manipulate. After a little practice, it now takes me about 10-15 minutes from the time I start unpacking until I am ready to start shooting. That includes mounting the camcorder, setting the counterweights, mounting a portable DVD player with AV-in as the monitor mounted to the tripod-head so I can see what the camcorder is shooting and running the AV, headphone and LANC cables and making the whole thing pretty with velcro strips.
Q:I was looking at the glidecam hd1000 for my canon vixia hv40, but now I think I'm more interested in a crane (jib).I was thinking of the advance digital 6 ft. crane. I would replace some of the plastic parts for metal.I'll be using it to film sketches and short films. (my budget is 350 dollars, but id like it to be under that)the crane is 200 dollarsthe glidecam is 370 dollars (on amazon)Thanks,Mike
It depends on the shots you want to get. The $370 HD-1000 Glidecam handheld stabilizer works fine for short sequences when walking or even running. But for the most part, if the camera is going to stay in one place, then a tripod is better. Back to the Glidecam handheld stabilizer... it is small and once set up (counter weights) you can leave it as-is and easily/quickly mount/dismount the camera as needed. Generally, it will be used at eye level so the camera's LCD panel can be used for framing shots. The Advanced Digital Crane stand ($60) and Crane ($150) will take a while to set up assuming it is taken apart after each work-day. It is fairly large and can get to heights the handheld Glidecam cannot get to. When the camera is mounted to the crane stage, you will not be able to see what the camera sees very well, assuming you are at the side of the crane where the counterweights are. You will want to use a monitor. I use a Sony portable DVD player with AV-out connected to the camcorder's AV-out. The rechargeable battery life on the portable DVD player is quite long when the DVD motor/player mechanism is not used. An RCA-ended extension cable will be needed. (for what it is worth, I have a Kessler 8 foot crane and use their heavy-duty tripod with their Hercules head). My cameras have a LANC port (I don't think the HV40 does). This allows start/stop recording, focus and zoom control from when I am standing back at the counterweights. Since the HV40's wireless remote sensor is at the front of the camcorder, controlling the camcorder with the wireless remote behind the camera is challenging. So... which would I recommend? It is relatively easy to get eye-level type shots (just use a tripod). Even with motion/movement, use of a wagon/dolly/chair/back-end of a truck/etc... is fairly simple. But getting the high level extended crane shots... that makes things interesting because it is a perspective most people don't see every day...
Q:What is the wall radius of a qtz50 tower crane?
The working radius is usually 50 meters. There are also 48, 49 meters. For example, 4810, 4910, and 5010, belong to 50 tons of tower cranes.Qtz50 resolves to:Q: crane;T: Tower type;Z: Jack up;50: lifting torque of 50 tons meters.
Q:I would like to get some advice from Martial artists of the training that Crane style Kung Fu go trough especially the balance. I would like to learn how they learn to balance without difficulty and the training they go trough.
I don't train in Crane style Kung Fu but I can give you some balance training tips. 1. Stand on one leg whenever possible (doing the dishes, waiting in line, etc.) 2. Walk on a Balance Beam (a wall, a line on the floor, a large long block, etc. can all be used as a balance beam), just walk heel to toe and work on staying balanced. When walking becomes too easy try practicing kicks on the beam, then spinning kicks, then jumping kicks (NOTE: if your balance beam is off the floor make sure you have a spotter when you do any jumping or spinning) 3. Practice, practice, practice Ask your instructor for more exersizes internet videos can be good but are unreliable and dangerous in the hands of people who don't know what they are doing.
Q:Why do tower cranes need to be fabricated?
The fatigue test data show that the fatigue life of the phosphating coating of steel wire rope is about 3-4 times the same structure light steel wire rope (laboratory comparable conditions) with the research on the wear resistance of phosphating, and greatly enhance the possibility of. Manganese phosphating is bonderizing, can solve the wear problems of wire rope used in the process, according to the current market situation of wire rope, manganese phosphating coating of steel wire rope price is higher than that of plain steel wire rope, and prolonging the service life of much higher than the rate of price increase, so the phosphating coating steel wire rope daily use fee is only plain steel wire 30-45% rope, the use of lower cost, higher cost, smooth steel wire rope is eliminated. For reference only
Q:I was wondering if anyone knows what period this book is set in? I know that it's set in the slums of New York and the story was published in 1893. But what time period does the story actually take place?
hah ha i'm in your class too :) This project sucks... and I still haven't done it! I have to tonight..
Q:I wanna get my gf this nice necklace but I suck at the crane games. Is there a way to cheat?
a partial cheat that i use is 1st looking to see which items are at least open enough to get 2nd when i start up i get to the item then to go the left and right of item and adjust which way i go then try to aim for the middle of the item wanted then there is an 80 % chance that i will get the item i am aiming for but some of those crane games are rigged to the point you have to go at least 2 or 3 times depending on what type items are on there because the crane arm looses strength especially if it is far away from the exit hole
Q:are parts availble for shop crane? Hydraulic ram plunger o rings has split....need part?
You okorder / and buy a whole new jack. I replace one with Northern about two years ago. I got one that pumps on the up, and down stroke. Works better than the original!
Q:I'm talking about the movie, for those of you who have seen it. If you have seen it, you can probably recall one of the final scenes where head Gamemaker Seneca Crane is being walked to his death by two Peacekeepers. I really want a picture of this! Why? Because the Peacekeeper on the right is my dad! I think it would be awesome if I could get him a picture of this since he is so proud of it! So if anyone knows where I can find a clip of this scene, or knows where I could get a picture, could you please tell me? I'd really appreciate it! Thank you!
I don't think it would be out there yet, as the movie just came out. I would try searching Seneca Crane and then your dad's name. You also might be able to find it on YouTube. It's really cool that your dad was in the movie!! Good luck finding the picture!
