Q:Ok, so I have a 1997 3.8 liter ford mustang. I was driving home from work the other day, when temp gauge started to go up. I brought it to mechanic, and he said it was a bad water pump, due to bad antifreeze. So I am getting a new pump, and an antifreeze flush. My question is that since it overheated, will there be any damage to the engine? The temperature gauge never hit the red, and smoke never came out. I had to drive it for approx 15-20 miles when it started to overheat, and the temp gauge was bouncing from hot to normal.
Overheating your engine is never good , but are you certain it was actually overheated or just a loose wire, faulty thermostat or other giving erratic readings.. If the Engine did not SMELL hot, if the engine performance did not change, if it did not overheat to the extreme...and quickly, it was probably NOT the water pump. Too, it probably did not damage the engine if it was overheated only to the degree that you say. I would wonder about the water pump scenario. Is it possible that you were in extended stop and go traffic in hot weather, and/or your radiator fluid was low and basically getting air in the system.? I hope your mechanic is competent and honest, and the problem was as he said. Usually there is NO Question in the symptoms that the Engine is overheated (regardless of gauge reading). The OIL would get very thin and HOT as well. Just wondering. Good luck.. P.S. I just read Avatar Country Boy's response after I submitted mine. He has some good advice too. I would add that if the engine ever overheats and loses water (or needs water) DONT EVER POUR WATER INTO A HOT OVERHEATED ENGINE !!!!! If you got the radiator cap off in the first place without getting scalded or WORSE, if you try to add water it WILL essentially EXPLODE back in your face as it hits super heated cooling system parts, and most likely crack your engine block, and/or warp your engine heads...serious engine damage. Instead, let it cool completely Again...Good luck..
Q:My well is 58 meters deep, the water level is 20 meters, the water level has not been measured. What's the maximum water pump I should choose?
First, determine the size of the electrical well and then the depth. Is it water injection or pumping? The pressure of water injection pump is much higher. If you pump water, it depends on how much water you need every hour Plus you enter the water depth of +10 meters, you can basically a good selection.
Q:How large is the starting current for a 1.5 kW submersible pump?
The starting current is 2-7 times the power
Q:Domestic pump does not use water, or turn, I do not know why?
Your home should be the pipeline booster pump, a pressure switch outlet of the pump, if no water will switch off, open the water tap water pump will work ~ ~ should be the pressure spring on this switch is broken, with 4 years of spring rust, not the original so good toughness. Another reason is that when the water pressure is not enough, the pump will work, but this can be ruled out.
Q:i have changed water pump, radiator and thermotast and it still overheat
head gasket bad? engine timming off?
Q:I have a 1998 pontiac grand prix yesterday I started leaking anti-freeze so we ( me, dad, bf) checked and came up w/ h2o pump, all the classic signs. so $51 latter started her up and wouldnt you know the same thing. anyone have any tips????
have you ever checked the radiator to make sure if that's utilising anti freeze? if so and you notice white smoke that's time for head gaskets. If not yet you nonetheless scent it then you fairly are very close to to blowing a hose or heater middle out. might have a small leak interior the radiator it is getting blown lower back into the cab.
Q:I have a 94 Mazda b2300 it was working great last week then all the sudden it started making a knocking sound and started to overheat! Its still drivable but it overheats if i go far! A friend told me it can be the Water Pump so i put a new one, I was told it can be the Thermostat so i had a new one put in. It worked for awhile but began overheating again. My truck is my livelihood so its important i get it fixed! I cant afford a mechanic but just asking to see if anyone knows what it could possibly be? It catches good and the engine sounds strong but it keeps overheating!
Have the radiator wiped clean out. My Mazda truck radiator did a similar ingredient, and that i trust that you've a similar difficulty. in the experience that they could't clean it on the radiator shop, you're able to replace it.
Q:How does a pump get water from a low low elevation to a higher elevation.
To understand the working of a hand pump, you have to understand the working of a basic pump. Pumps work by creating a difference in pressure ( in this case of water). A sort of vacuum is created at the top of the pipe while water is present at the lower end. There is a difference in pressure hence water rushes to the top-end of the pump from where we get water. This vacuum is created by the mechanics in the electrical pump. Regards -M.S P.S : Please select as 'best answer' if you like my answer...
Q:I just had my water pump/timing belt replaced and oil change. When the pump failed, white smoke was coming out, which I figured out to be coolant from the smell. Now there is smoke coming out from under the engine, which I believe to smell like oil. Also, the temperature gauge goes up to the halfway point when I am at a stoplight or idling. The highest I have ever seen it is at 1/3.I had my car serviced by the dealership and I asked them. The man said its burning oil residue from the oil change and that it will burn away in a few days. Is this true? I have had my car worked on and oil changed for the past year at this dealership and have never had any smoke or other problems. What else could be going on? Worse case scenarios. Thanks everyone.
Almost every time i have seen this in my 35 years of exp.its turned out to be a cracked block or head.
Q:Hi, I own a 2004 chev. venture and the water pump is getting noisy (most likely the bearings) I priced a refurbished one online at $18 and am wandering if this is a task I could handle myself, or if I'd most likely screw it up
i okorder i also have yahoo im
