Structure and operating principles of Portable Self-priming Single Suction Centrifugal Pump

Diesel engine driven self-priming pump is composed of diesel engine, coupling, pump body, impeller, rear cover, mechanicalseal, pump spindle, bearing block, imported pump, gas-liquid separator tube, water valve and drain connection. The structure of the pump is shown in the following figure.

Principle of operation: The pump body with fluid reservoir inside and the working chamber of the pump, being connected with each other through the reflowingvalve on the upper side and circulation valve beneath it, form the axial-flow outer recirculation system of the pump. When the pump stops working, it already has a volume of liquid reserve inside its fluid reservoir, when the pump runs, the liquid inside is ejected upward with the air flow under the function of impeller, then it reflows into the working cavity through the gas-liquid separator tube, at the same time, the gas is exhausted out of the pump, which makes the pump vacuumed inside so as to get self-priming realized.

Preparations of Portable Self-priming Single Suction Centrifugal Pump

  • Check the fasteners of the joint parts, such as the pump seat, the coupling and the bearing carrier, and make sure that they would not loosen. If any of them get loose, you should fasten them.

  • Check the connecting pipes and make sure that there is no gas leakage.

  • Switch on the water valve on the top of the pump, add a volume of water, which is no less than 2/3 of the pump volume. Then switch off the water valve. The next time you start the pump, you never need to do water-injection anymore.

  • Get the power line of the storage battery routed to the power source , when the diesel engine is power-on, press down the starting button of the meter panel,  give it a test run to see if it rotates clockwise (counterclockwise rotation is prohibited).

  • Starting up: Add antifreezingsolution to the water tank of the diesel engine, and fill the fuel tank with diesel oil, then add some lubricating oil (labeled 10w-40)to the engine. Route the power line of the starter to the storage battery and pay attention to the positive and negative poles.

Q:I posted this earlier but nobody really answered my question . if my water pump is clearly on the serpentine belt I t need to replace the timing chain to get to it correct? The bolts holding the pump in are around it near the timing chain cover but they don't look like they are inside it. the pump is clearly driven by the serpentine so should I be fine not removing my timing belt to fix the pump? its leaking. Also I know you should replace the timing chain+tensioner but I inspected the chain 400 miles ago its properly tensioned the belt is in good condition its a chain it will last the life of the car its not the cheap belts.
Are you forgetting to mention something? Ah! Year, Make and Model. Engine size is a plus ... only a fool who knows nothing will answer your question without knowing the at least needed to know information ... What do you mean: if my water pump is clearly on the serpentine belt I t need to replace the timing chain to get to it correct? You've said: Timing chain and yet, the first answer by You may be right said: If you can change the pump without removing the timing belt then go for it, you are lucky. See what has happened when the needed to know information were not specified? .. and how do you expect any of us to know the question you have mentioned before and could not read your history in YA? I've rest my case ...
Q:Even when all water is shut off in the camper, my water pump keeps running. Even when the tank is completely empty. Does anyone know what is causing this?
Camper Water Pump
Q:A 0.13hp electric motor on a water well pumps water from 30.23m below the surface. The density of water is 1.0 kg/liter. How many kg of water does the motor pump in 2.20hr?
It is known that 1 hp = 746 watts, so 0.13 hp = 97 watts = 97 Joules/s The amount of work to lift 1 kg water a vertical distance = 30.23 m = mgh mgh = (1)(9.81)(30.23) = 296.6 J no. of seconds in 2.20 hr = (2.2)(3600) = 7920 s total work output of a 0.13 hp pump in 2.2 hr if 100% efficient = (7920)(97) = 768,240 J no of kg lifted by 100% efficient pump/motor in 2.2 hr = 768,240/296.6 = 2590 kg ANS
Q:A circular swimming pool has a diameter of 12 meters. The sides are 3 meters high and the depth of the water is 2.5 meters. How much work is required to pump all of the water over the side?
Let the x-axis point upward, with x=0 at ground level. Consider a thin horizontal increment of water, of thickness dx, located at some x (0 ≤ x ≤ 2.5). This water has mass dm given by dm = ρA dx where ρ is the mass density of water (in kg/m?) and A is the area of this increment (A = 36π for all increments here). This increment must be lifted (3-x) meters. The increment of work dW is given by dW = gh dm where g is the acceleration due to gravity and h is the distance that the increment of mass must be lifted (which we've seen is equal to 3-x meters). The total work W is given by 2.5 ?∫ g (3-x) 36π ρ dx 0
Q:Could someone tell me the procedure for removing & installing a water pump on 97 buick skylark 3.1L 3100 SFI?
Get the Chilton manual.
Q:Stop the engine immediately and stop the circulating pump and the condensate pump. What's the harm to the turbine?
Then look at what is the circulating water pump and condensate pump users, circulating water with oil in the oil cooler then, condensed water supply pump seal water, water pump can't pump up, how will you know.
Q:I have a slight idea but I would like to see what steps other people have taken. I have a 1992 ford escort that needs a new water pump, what steps have you taken to replace it?
if you're going to do it yourself first I recommend getting the book for the car sometimes the library will have them..you also want to be careful when changing the water pump because your timing belt is hooked up to the water pump. If you misalign the camshaft or the crankshaft pulleys or turn them independently when the belt is off you can cause damage to the head of the engine (very important: your timing will be off..you don't want that). To start with though, you will have to take off your accessory belt and the accessory crank pulley, then take off the timing belt cover and use the crank shaft pulley to line up the marks that are on the pulley and the engine (on both the crankshaft pulley and the cam shaft pulley) carefully take the timing belt off (replace the timing belt and the timing belt tensioner..trust me it'll be worth it). You're going to have to drain the antifreeze before you take the water pump off. (I would also replace the thermostat because its cheap and you already have the fluid out) The install is pretty much the opposite. (again make sure the marks line up on the cam and crank pulleys and don't turn them independently when you're putting the belt back on) (short answer: get the book and/or have someone that's done it before help) when your done you can say you did it :)
Q:My 2000 Chevy Cavalier (2.4L) has been overheating pretty majorly (within a 10 minute drive!) when it's been super cold out, about 5F. I took it to the shop and they told me it was my water pump. Right after getting out of the shop, the problem went away for an entire week and the car's temperature has been at exactly what it's been for years - never past 195. It seems to be back now, though not as severe. It's about 20F now.Could the weather have to do with this??Why would the problem go away like that?I'm female and definitely do not seem educated walking into a shop so they can really tell me anything and I'll buy it. I just wanna see if the problem going away like that makes any sense, or if I should just wait out long trips until it warms up outside. It doesn't look like I'm losing coolant, though my low coolant light goes in and out.I have no idea. Thoughts?Thank you!!
When the water pump goes you usually see obvious signs of leakage and a grinding metallic sound coming from it as well. Plus they usually go pretty fast, within a day or 2 of symptoms presenting, and then coolant is often gushing out. The thermostat is the more likely culprit. The thermostats on the '00-'02 Cavs are pretty bad. I've replaced (2) of them in 6 years on my car. Take it to another shop and let them look at it, point out that you think it might be the thermostat or water pump but you're not sure, at least you will sound like you have a clue what the problem might be.
Q:Domestic pump automatic shut off the water, but also turn around, stop what happened?
Absolutely at the pressure switch, just under pressure. The shell open pressure switch, will see there is a spring, the screw is to adjust the pressure of the ~ ~ ~ try, and I've done a lot.
Q:i just moved into a house that has a small (about 40 gal) pond. i wanted to put fish in it. i have everything but the water pump. i've been looking around and i've found many solar fountain heads (about $30) that are pretty cheap and then i found a solar oxygenator for $100. which one would help the fish more? flowing water or just oxygen?
Flowing water adds oxygen into the water... So Id go with that one.
