I have looked at Ikea's products and I'm considering the Karlstad loveseat or the new Sater sofa, which is a 2.5 seat leather sofa. Is Ikea furniture comfortable and durable. How good is the leather? How well does the furniture age? I don't want it looking shabby after a short while. - I have the Karlstad sofa, and I love it. It's very durable and was super easy to put together - and I am definitely NOT a handy-woman! - so you won't have to worry if it fits through the door. My place is really small but since it's so streamlined, it doesn't overwhelm the room. Sorry, I don't know anything about the Sater sofa, and my sofa is fabric and not leather. But I can recommend the design/construction. Good luck!

- Q:Hi everyone,I'm looking to make some extra money as my current job doesn't pay enough and I'm unable to leave currently. I recently found an old antique sofa on eBay which I am thinking of bidding on and hopefully win. It's a large Victorian Three-Seater Chesterfield Settee with good frame, mahogany legs and original horse hair.
- Expensive! I don't think there's a good chance of making much with the work it needs. If no one is bidding on it now there may be no real interest in it when it's refurbished. Why leather? That's the single most expensive thing you can cover it in and not what people would expect (or want?) on an old piece of furniture. You'd have to re-sell it direct to make anything at all. In a shop they'll want their cut and more profits go out the window. If you can't do the work yourself you're looking at an expensive proposition. Here in the states it would likely cost several hundred dollars to have the work done and that's not including the cost of the leather/fabric which would also cost several hundred.
- Q:I have two bage color swade fabric sofas and they are very dirty. They have stains from like everything. I would just get rid of them but my hubb dosent want to because they are so comfortable and they were really expensive and he feel bad to get rid of em. - Cornmeal.I have owned suede coats for years and the sleeves always get gunky. Go to the grocery store and buy a box of the cheapest cornmeal you can find, yellow or white, doesn't matter. Spread a towel under the part of the sofa you will be working on to keep the cornmeal from going everywhere and pour a handful of cornmeal on the sofa. Grind and scrub it into the suede with your hands or a DRY sponge, brushing it to one side to check your progress. Add more as needed until you finish the entire sofa. The cornmeal will bring up the nap, absorb grease and scrub dirt out of the nap. Once you have it clean vacuum with an apolstery brush to remove any cornmeal residue. It sounds weird but it works!

- You two need to establish just who is boss in your house. As for the jumping on the sofa..why does this bother the husband? My dogs do it all the time. I expect that. They are welcome to the furniture if they want. Except our bed at night. We tell them to Go night night and they'll sleep on the floor. If you two don't want him on the couch, teach him the command of get down or something like that. When he obeys, get down and play with him.
