Q:Laying tile in a shower stall...?
There are a lot of steps to getting set up to lay tile, and considering that there must be a hundred websites out there that describe the process, with maybe a dozen of them doing a superb job of that, I'd suggest letting your fingers do the walking and skimming over a few of them until you find one you like.
Q:Can I tile an interior wall with granite tile?
Yes you can. However, to simply apply tile to the wall as it is now will not work. You will need to install a cement backer board in place of the drywall. This backer backer board will need to be screwed into the wall studs with 2 1/2 - 3 screws. The seams will need to be taped as similar to drywall. There are many other options available to you other than tile to achieve the look you are wanting. For instance, a plaster compound can be applied to the wall and made to look like a block or stone wall. Stucco or Faux finishes may be a cheaper and easier alternative.
Q:Simple way to lay ceramic tile?
I would use larger tiles in your case.
Q:Tiles on the iron out of the traces of how to remove
Try to use a thinner wipe, not on the use of 400/500 fine sand belt water fight, if the tile surface can only be broken
Q:Should I tile before having carpet installed?
I would have the tiles installed first since it's a messy job. They have to use quick set, grout, cut tiles and etc. so no matter who does it, it's still messy. Then you don't have to worry about protecting your new carpet with some tarps. Usually in the tile section somewhere of home improvement stores there is metal transition pieces you can buy for 2 or 3 bucks that you just nail into the floor.
Q:How to replace/cut a single tile?
Hi Mike H I’m Ken with The Home Depot in California. While a Dremel tool is a great tool, it will take you quite a while to remove all the grout needed in order to get the tile out. Use a grout removal tool. First as JJonDProwl stated make sure you are wearing safety glasses to protect yourself from grout dusk and tile pieces when you’re ready to break the tile. I have attached a link to show you a step by step process on how to remove that piece of tile. This will give you all the information to make you successful in this project. bit.ly/dszCiC Hope this helps.
Q:How to clean ceiling tiles.?
The one thing I can suggest to you is go to a place that deals with ceiling tiles and they will let you know what to use to clean them. I understand this a just for now project, but do consider what is the reason for the mildew even if you replace the tiles at a later date. If someone suggests to paint them then you're really going to have to ask the experts. If you use the wrong paint you can loose the acoustics. There are certain kinds of paints to use for ceiling tiles. I hesitate to tell you to use soap and water, because I don't know what the out come will be. It's like if you use too much of anything what will the results be. Same with soap and water regarding ceiling tiles. I may be making a mountain out of a mole hill, but I think you need to go to any hardware dept. that deals with ceiling tiles and get some straight answers before moving on, even if this is a temporary fix.
Q:Can I install granite tiles over a laminate countertop?
This Site Might Help You. RE: Can I install granite tiles over a laminate countertop? I was told that a granite tile countertop is a cheap way to upgrade countertops. can I install granite tile over the existing laminate countertop? do I need any to install any material between the laminate countertop and the granite tiles? thanks
Q:fixing bathroom tile grout/underlayment?
After installing thousands of square feet of tile and gallons of grout I suggest it isn't the fault of the grout or the tile install, but could well be some flex in the sub floor, and/or what supports it and in fact how that relates to what supports the tub and any conditions arising over time from leaks, etc. I can't judge the install, but you don't state the width of the grout line as it butts the tub, and anything more than 3/8 should have been done with a non sanded grout and certainly in a poly blend. You could create a shim if you wanted, though it might not be aesthetically pleasing and grout to the shim, then caulk to the tub. DOC
