Q:how much to replace water pump and timing belt on a PT Cruiser?
If your timing belt is old and wearing out, it should be replaced. This is the BEST time to replace the water pump, since the belt has to come off to change the pump. You will be saving a bit of money in the time required to make the repairs. While it is being done, have the mechanic check the bottom of the radiator.
Q:Can a car turn off due to water pump?
DONT BUY THAT CAR!!!!!!! Those are famous for blowing head gaskets after a nice overheat. And who knows how long he or she drove with it like that. The water pump either works or it dont. Its not electrical. He is full of crap! But it will shut off when it has a leaking head gasket and so much exhaust enters the system. Even if you look at the oil and radiator fluid.sometimes it wont show. DO NOT BUY THAT CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
Q:I think our water pump over heated, will it go back to normal after it cools down? It wasnt turning off?!?! ?
I assume you have a water well pump. The experience I have had, is it will come back on once the thermal safety switch cools down. However, I think you still have work here to do because each time this happens, you are shortening the life of your pump. First you need to determine why it ran hot to begin with. Could be lots of reasons, but just to name a few. -Is your water tank in good shape, with the correct air pressure? -Is the tank waterlogged, too old or leaking? -Any leaks in the service in or to the house? -Is your contact switch working properly, clean contacts, good wire, good connections, breaker etc.? -Is there water running somewhere your not aware of? -Last but not least, the check valve and foot valve leading to the well could also be defective. Just my opinion, I hope this helps to get you thinking. Good luck; flip;
Q:Toyota 2006 Sienna, Timing Belt, Water Pump, Drive Belt & Trans Pan Gasket replacement?
Yes, I agree with the others and follow the 90,000 mile rule and have never had a major problem with the 5 Toyotas we have bought from brand new and the longest we have ever kept was 1993 Toyota Camry LE with 211,000 miles that we gave away when my wife and her sisters all insisted on SUVs and she upgraded to 2005 Toyota Highlander 6 cylinder AWD. FYI in addition to timing belt package and water pump, I also have my mechanic replace the thermostat and both fan belts. Finding a good mechanic who has the skills and know-how and works on all kinds of Japanese vehicles is the 1st Major Step. Mine worked a long time ago at the local Toyota dealer and I have seen/witnessed him 1st hand tear down and put back engines transmissions and though his rate slowly creeps up, I stayed with him with 20 years and see him for advice whenever I noticed anything unusual. FYI on timing belt replacements, I put together a list of parts for my mechanic to confirm these are the genuine Toyota parts I need, then there are 2 Toyota dealers in Texas: Toyota of Dallas and Toyota of Richardson TX that sell about 30% discount off of MSRP plus UPS fee and anything I miss or overlooked I let the service station get from the dealer. Regarding the transmission, I simply drain the ATF every 30,000 miles and refill with genuine Toyota ATF fluid and once when I was busy my mechanic did it for $30 plus the Toyota ATF Fluid. Hope the Above info Helps!
Q:Alternator belt and water pump leakage relations?
Depends. On older vehicles they used multiple drive belts for the different components (my '88 Caprice had 3 belts), but most newer vehicles only use 1 belt called a serpentine belt which drives multiple components (my '00 Dodge Ram 1500) If you lose your serpentine belt it will set the battery light as the alternator is not outputting the correct system voltage, and since the same belt drives the water pump then yes the car will overheat. It's dangerous to keep driving like that, most newer cars have aluminum heads which will warp when they get tooooo hot = expensive repair
Q:Turn Pond Water Pump Off At Night?
Total Pond Pump
Q:My water pump worked this morning and then all of a sudden it just stops working!?
this is what, five, six questions all about the same topic? I'm so confused. what does this mean, Should I wait for water to pump up to it? pump up to what? Could be a blockage in the telltale hose or nipple. Could be a blockage in the water jacket. Could be overheating for some other reason, (lean burning due to clogged carbs, inadequate oiling cause somebody forgot the oil, bad timing, etc.) and steam in the system is blocking the telltale. Forgot the water tube guide grommet and the water tube slipped off.
Q:im changing my water pump on 97 cadillac need help?
You sure you have the right tool?? There are 2 different tools they came out with. Cant remember the year but Cadillac changed the water pump design which the tools had to change. Neither one will work on the other design. Both almost look the same except the teeth stick further out on the older design. I always use a impact, put the socket on your impact just bump the trigger enough to get the pump to turn a little. But not too much or you'll break the ears of the housing then you'll have to replace the crossover asy I did see you said CLOCKWISE!!!!!! Make sure you are turning it to the direction to tighten, this has the reverse on/off direction
Q:Water pump "rated lift: 6m" what do you mean?
Popularly speaking, "lift head" is the ability of water pump to lift water. 6m means that the pump can pump water to the height of 6m.
Q:Water pump removal?
There is some room to move an engine/trans slightly to get to parts or perform maint. The actual movement is probably not that drastic, but most have the proper equipment to handle this. I wouldn't worry about it as long as it is being done by someone with experience.
