Q:I took out the thermostat, filled coolant level to upmost, my car still overheats, it doesnt leak ne where. How can I tell if the water pump is workin?
Overheating normally would require a failed water pump. Some liquid leaking out of the weep hole normally just indicates that the pump is going to fail. Does the water pump make a clicking sound? An abnormal pump sound also is an indicator of a pump that is starting to fail. Verify that the coolant is full. If full, check the fan. If the fan is not turning on between 185 to 225, the temperature sensor may be bad. Also verify that the thermostat is installed in the correct direction. If installed backwards, the engine will overheat quickly. (This is an easy mistake.) Good luck!
Q:Could my problem be greater than a water pump or thermostat?
Well first of all thermostates don't make leaks, -- unless they don't open, in which case boiling makes water run out! And of course it could be waterpump, it could also be radiator hoses, and radiator itself, as well as heater hoses, and heater core! In extreme case it could even be head gasket going bad! (But defiantely it will be under the hood!) You just have to check things out an see where it is coming from! Waterpump has a weep hole underneath main housing, -- if it is dripping from there,- the seal in WP is bad. But rest of things should be easy to see if you look carefully! If you have very much water leaking get it fixed quickly, and keep it full, and watch temperature carefully, if it starts overheating shut down engine quickly! If you drive overheated you WILL blow head gasket, and if going even further- too hot, it will expire engine! This is very expensive!
Q:i want to change the water pump on my on a 70 hp (70C) nissan outboard motor and i never pulled a lower unit, not sure what to expect thanks for any help
hi you need to get the workshop manual for your motor. You can go to the library I am sure they will have one. The basics though... make sure you have a lower unit gaskey set, a full water pump rebuild kit and the correct impellor. You need the manual so that you can locate the correct bolts to loosen and the procedure for disconecting the gear shifting mechanism. With the manual its an easy job. without.. its kind of pot luck if you have never done it before. I have changed impellors and water pumps on many different boat motors and i have aways used the manuals. Even now I would still use the manual as a reference to change the impellor and water pump housing in my Johnson even though i have done it before. The manual will probily cost about $25 but it will save you hundreds in the long run as you will be able to trouble shoot other problems.
Q:could you explain the process by which water is pumped out of the ground for purposed such as drinking water or irrigation? Can you put it in terms a high school senior would understand?
(1) Identify your potential water source through various methods. (2) Drill a small exploratory hole to different depths, test water pressure and water quality. (3) Drill the complete borehole for production and retrieval of the groundwater. (4) Complete the physical well, will a sheath to allow in the water at the wanted levels, solid pluge to keep other levels out. (5) Insert a chemical and physical filter system (small screen membranes, activate charcoal and diatomaceous earth, etc.) (6) Put in the submersible pump and plug it in. (7) The pump is made up of a motor, an intake and a centrifugal pump. It's all sealed so no water can penetrate through. The water is suctioned into the centrifugal pump, which is an impeller type device. The water is then pushed out at a much higher pressure rate than it came in. This is how the pump works from the bottom instead of above ground. The water is sent to the pressure tank, sometimes referred to as a holding tank, and is kept at a constant pressure, so when you turn on your faucet or shower, the water comes out quickly. As you use the water, more water is pumped into the tank and as the pressure drops in the tank, it will automatically come on and pressurize again.
Q:What is the defection of water pump
Reversing the pump will cause the motor to increase current, small water or no water
Q:Trying to replace my water pump and was told labor would cost $90 for an 06 impala 3.9L I don't know if it's reasonable for the amount of work.
A water pump. Ninety dollars sound like 1.5 hours of work at $60 to $65 an hour. The car must cool off first. The car must be emptied of coolant . The serpentine belt must be removed. There might be other items that may need to be placed out of the way on this Impala, capitalized, Mr. Swayward, as car names are proper names and must be capitalized. Apparently teachers do no cover this in class any more. There are many bolts that need to be removed. There is a gasket that needs to be removed. There is a water (coolant) pump that needs to be removed. There is a new pump that needs to be installed. There is a gasket and a cover pan to be installed. There is a serpentine belt that must be returned to service by adjusting the tension. There might items that were removed that need to be moved back. There is coolant fluid that must in added to the vehicle. Past a certain point of adding coolant the engine is run to circulate the fluid to burp the system out of air. As the coolant levels goes down, more fluid is added. Repeat as needed. Once assured of no air then the radiator cap is placed and then work can be checked for leaks and for quality of work, A few minutes of monitoring the engine and the temperature are needed. An experienced mechanic could possibly do this faster but the labor rate comes form a book or website used all over the USA as the time an average mechanic would need to complete this job. As to your question. Is it reasonable? Since you know where on the planet you happen to park this car, then you could call another car repair shop and ask as to this job. You can compare prices.
Q:Stop the engine immediately and stop the circulating pump and the condensate pump. What's the harm to the turbine?
Then look at what is the circulating water pump and condensate pump users, circulating water with oil in the oil cooler then, condensed water supply pump seal water, water pump can't pump up, how will you know.
Q:What does water flow mean?
Forehead... Flow do not understand it....
Q:for the water pump in MY car that he has been using for his job!! He has threatned that the water pump cost $400 - 500 dollars but I didn't hear abut that when it was done!!! We are breaking up and it is My car but he says that he is taking te water pump out! Can he do that??? We also ave a daughte but I will ask about that later!! TRUST ME!!! I need to know about Custody Battles in Anoka or Hennipin County, Monnesota, 55433!!!! Please Help!!!!!!!!
Using a drill, drill a gap within the middle of the damaged bolt. If it is a a million/two inch bolt, use a three/eight or five/sixteen bit. If its a five/sixteen bolt, use a three/sixteen or eleven/sixty four bit, you get the proposal. Just go away sufficient sidewall of the bolt for the E-Z OUT to seize Make certain you middle the gap as first-rate you'll. Using a hammer and a sharpened punch to make a opening dimple makes it less complicated. Drill the gap to approximately a million/two inch deep. Go to any vehicle constituents retailer. Tell them you wish to have an E-Z OUT stud remover. Make certain it's the proper diameter for the gap you drilled. An E-Z OUT is a tapered bit with ridges spiraling down it is period within the reverse course than the threads of the bolt you're making an attempt to take away. Insert the E-Z OUT within the gap and switch counter-clockwise utilizing an adjustable wrench. Hopefully it is not caught to unhealthy and can pop out with ease. The most effective different choice is to drill the entire bolt out and re-thread the block. Good Luck. Wish I might do it for you. It is not intricate. If you may have anyone do it for you, do not get ripped off. A ethical and descent mechanic can do that in as low as five mins and is not going to cost you anymore than $20. There's most effective $five valued at of work in it, however mostly you ought to pay for proficiency. Hope this is helping.
Q:99 Cherokee I6. There is low pitched noise coming from the area of the water pump and alternator. Like a grinding grumbling. The water pump pulley is not loose and will not rock back and forth. Nothing is leaking. Tomorrow is forecast as icey and I have a choice of sending my wife 30 miles each way to work in the Cherokee or a 2005 Mustang, which is absolutely terrible in the snow or ice. I can get the car into the shop on Thursday for diagnosis and repair. Since the pulley is not loose I am thinking it will be OK for another day even if it is the water pump bearings. Thoughts?
could be water pump bearing going sure couldbe one of the pulleys bad as well and id sure chance the trip and keep the mustang off the road if you dont have to really if it locks up should nt be hard to replace anywhere really not that hard of job and doesnt cost much at autozone
