 Exfoliated expanded vermiculite introduction :

Vermiculite is a layer-structured metamorphic rock of gibbsite silicate. Rich in magnesium, it comes from hot-liquid-eroded or weathered phlogopite. When it is heated to lose water and expands, lt turns curvingas a leech. Therefore is called vermiculite.lt can be divide into original vermiculite and expanded vermiculite. color it can also be divided into golden vermiculite and white vermiculite.

Exfoliated expanded vermiculite physical and chemical quota :

Being differently hydrated and oxidation, the same vermiculite may have different chemical compositions .Generally, its chemical compositions are as follows:

Vermiculite Chemical quota: Mg x (H2O)(Mg3-x)(ALSiO3O10)(OH2)

Q:i have 20 tomato plants in individual 6 containers on a flood table but i water by hand. i grew them from seed and they seem to be dying. tips of branches are yellowing and drying and even some leaves are. the plants are 8 inches tall and all planted in organic miracle grow soil mixed with perlite and vermiculite. they started off strong but now having problems. i have 10 small pepper plants the same age as the tomatos and they are thriving. all plants are under a 400wat metal halide light 1 foot above the plants and i water everyother day or when the top soil seems dry. please help!!
Cut the badly discolored leaves off. Leave only the good leaves. I had the same problem but some of my leaves turned white and some turned yellow. Almost all have lived and now are 12 inches tall. The only thing I added was a little iron. I assume you are growing heirloom tomatoes. They are tricky but you will learn. I grow 7 varieties.
Q:I'm mixing water and vermiculite for an incubation medium for gecko eggs. The ration is six parts vermiculite by weight and 4 parts water by weight. If the vermiculite is 25.1 grams what should the water be? Also can I see your equation you used for future reference? Thanks for your time
You left out some steps. You should mix the water, vermiculite and brown rice flour(ground brown rice) and place it in a jar and place the jar in boiling water or pressure cooker. Generally they are mixed together in the right ratio. One part brown rice flower, one part water and two parts vermiculite is the recommended ratio. Mix the water and vermiculite first. Then add brown rice flour. Place it half way full in a jar and cover it tightly with aluminum foil. Boil it for 20 minutes being careful that the water level is low enough that it doesn't get into the jars. Pressure cooking is better but not necessary. Let it cool down. Inject the spores. After a week or so it should start turning white. At some point you need to put it in a fruiting chamber. I would probably do that at about 2 weeks or when the mycelium had established itself. It needs to be exposed to light or mushrooms won't form. Mushrooms also generally need more ventilation at that point.
Q:Does anyone know where I can buy Vermiculite for gardening other than online?
First, have it tested to find out AND have someone who knows what they are doing interpret the test results. Second, it's probably more dangerous to remove it than to leave it in place, maybe cover it with a layer of cellulose to reduce exposure. Third, hire an abatement company, it's the only safe way to do it, unless you experienced with this type of thing, not to mention you can't just put it out with the trash if it has asbestos in it
Q:We have two red beardies and had them together for breeding purposes and we noticed that the female was getting large and lumpy so we assumed she was pregnant. We put a box of sand in her tank and she would get in it and dig around all the time. One day we came in and she had laid her eggs (all 28) NOT in the sand and they were all dried out and ruined. So, my question is, does this bearded dragon just lack the maternal instincts they are suppose to have? Since this was her first clutch it is possible the eggs were slugs and that is why they were all dried out by the time we found them, but still I thought it was common sense for them to lay the eggs in the sand. Any help would be great because I am worried she will lay another clutch and ruin them too.
It may be possible that they were not good eggs. Next time you may want to use moist pearlite or vermiculite, they make for better laying substrates and also you want to keep the eggs moist by having the substrate around them slightly moist. That may also appear as a more desirable place for your dragon to lay eggs. The eggs may also have been good, they may have just dried out under the heat lamp depending on how long they were out. 28 eggs is good amount for a first clutch too. when you know she's going to lay her eggs, just check on her often and mine will typically spend most of their time in their lay box before they lay. Actually, they will dig a hole for several days before they lay so if your dragon is digging a hole in their laybox, this will give you a few days warning. You may just need to try moister substances like I said.
Q:He is a juvenile i just got him and he's shedding already what do i do????
Organic refers to the source of the rice, that is, the farm where it grew. So, if it's from an organic farm, it's organic. Enriching it will not change that status. If it doesn't say brown rice on the bag, then it's just white rice that's been colored in the processing. Uncle Ben's may do that; I'm not sure. Brown rice has more nutrients and fiber than white rice, but is also more susceptible to mold. You have to keep it in a cool, dry place.
Q:ok im getting into growing bonsai trees and i need to find vermiculite does any one know of stores that carry it?
you may placed the calcium powder in somewhat bowl in his tank and only bypass away it there with him and notice if that facilitates. on occasion they're going to easily consume it while they choose it and different situations they won't. relies upon on the leo. There are additionally liquid calcium supplements you may attempt spraying on the crickets only in the previous feeding time. i've got in no way used them and don't understand a lot approximately them so a ways as high quality is going, yet they are on the keep cabinets. MBD itself would properly be corrected however the outcomes are many times everlasting. In otherwords you may ultimate the calcium deficiency interior the gecko's weight loss plan yet in keeping with how undesirable it grow to be and for a manner long he would desire to continuously walk humorous.
Q:if you know any of the rest I need these too:graphitehalitemagnetitequartzsulfurtalcmicskernite vermiculite
At first I would beleive that this is pyrite. Or fools gold. A good test is to put it on a hard surface and the poke it hard with a knife. Or squeeze it between pliers. If it breaks its pyrite. If it bends, you have either a foil, or possibly gold. Another test you could do is put a few of these flakes in a bowl or pan along with some dirt you have in the carden, put in a small amount of water. Shake it all up, hold the pan and bang the side, this will cause the heavier material to sink to the bottom. now swish it around soflty and slowly, if you can get the gold colored stuff to stay, and everything else to float off, you have gold. This process is called gold panning. If it is indeed gold, I would recommend you start digging. Gold is at $893 per ounce. But i doubt your are just diggin up gold flakes, even though it is possible, i would guess its pirite, or trash, or foil capsules from fertilizer
