Q:ok, how do you make a paper crane. i've totally tried with a direction and marked paper, but that didn't work out. by the time i gave up the paper was all smooth cuz it was so worn. anything would help, links, step-by-step instructions, both. whatever. 10 pts to whoever tells me, and i succeed. sweet
wow, you must be refering to origami I can not help with this one but you can go to the library tomorrow and look it up (NOTE: this is neither joke or riddle see if there is a more appropriate place for this like arts and crafts )
Q:Do the characters develop a sense of brotherhood. If so will it be temporary or permanent
Temporary. It is sort of classic that a group of people are thrown together by some terrible tragedy or circumstance, but unless there is something beyond that one day or hour, there is no common bond that will make it permanent. The Open Boat is a terrific story. I always liked it. It reminded me of the movie stagecoach or the movie The Open Boat which is a bit different. It's all about people being together and having to work to survive. They went down together, but how much else do they have in common? My guess is little.
Q:how much does a whooping crane eat per day?
The metabolic cost of flight depends on the type of flight (gliding, soaring, flapping, or hovering), wing shape, and speed. Of course, flapping flight and hovering are the most costly types of flight. Laboratory studies of birds trained to fly in wind tunnels (like the one below)
Q:I know they will leave because last year they left after a few weeks. I have seen that they normally leave after a month. They annoy me and I want them gone. They have been around since the end of February or beginning of March. Does anyone else have these in their house. It seems like they are leaving slowly usually there is like 1 or 2 a day in moms room but the last 2 days there have not been any. They have been in my room, just one a day it seems like and maybe one in the kitchen. We swat them or spray them and they die eventually but when will they be gone atleast for a little while?
Crane flies are totaly harmless to humans. They fly for some time and fall down to earth.Ants will take them away. These flies never byte or sting. Pet Cats like to play with it and catch it.They will disappear after some time. Do you know that crane flies spend most of their lives underground in their larval forms, which are known as leatherjackest?. Leatherjackets were very common round here, and are a favourite food of the local crows .These leatherjackets transform into crane flies.Summer is their growth time.
Q:Do you find it ironic a crane crashed into Mecca's holiest mosque on 9/11?

Q:I know that an ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane, such as long life or recovery from illness or injury. This summation, or something like it comes up in every search I do for the legend. Is there a full story that goes with the original legend? If so I would very much like to read it. Wikipedia doesn't have it. Also, while Sadako's story is very touching, it is not the one I'm looking for.
It okorder / I'll keep looking and see if I can find out an origin and add a bit more later.
Q:When making 1000 origami cranes, do all of them have to be the same size? I already made some of varying sizes. Does it matter? I hope not.Thank you.
I don't believe there are any size restrictions, the main requirement is that there be 1000 of them. Since a lot of origami paper is prohibitively expensive to buy in large amounts, you'll probably be better off folding with whatever is convenient to you. This also frees you up to fold wherever and whenever you like, without having to lug around a certain size paper or a ruler and scissors. For instance, Sadako Sasaki, the famous Japanese school girl who attempted to fold 1000 cranes before her death from raditation-induced leukemia, had to fold with whatever paper was close to her - spare bits of medicine wrappings, napkins, candy wrappers, and wrapping paper from get-well presents.
Q:I've been making lots of paper cranes lately, thinking I would know exactly what to do with them. In reality, I'm a bit short on ideas... Can you help me with this, because I'd love to find ways to decorate my room with them. I can't really use nails on my walls or ceiling, so I can't do a mobile or randomly string them about.
Okay - so if you can't string them from the ceiling - than what I would do is buy some round vases/globes, from Pier one or some place like that, and fill them with paper cranes, then set the bowls on your shelves/windowsill/desk/table or other flat surface. I've enclosed some examples below. You can also make a mobile by hanging something like a super strength hook with adhesive. 3M makes them (the same folks who created scotch tape). The adhesive does not damage walls and you can stick them to anything. They can bear up to 30 pounds of weight. Put a few on your ceiling or walls and hang your mobiles from them.
Q:What are equations /formulas that use to calculate maximum vertical load values, the maximum length of boom?
Hello, Briefly, the structure of the crane or lifting mechanism is not usually the limiting case. The limiting case is to ensure that the Center of Gravity of the mobile crane with the load is such that it is bound within the tires or footprint of the crane. If this load is outside the footprint, the crane tips over.
Q:what does a paper crane represent/symbolize?
A fun activity to do when you have nothing else to do!
