- Q: the purple pinkish thats like a helpful shield?
- Batteries are bad replace them or get new ones, I had one that wouldn't stop so I put it outside but one morning it went off and I thought it was the neighbors and woke them up but later to my dismay I found it was the one I put outside in a box so I took a hammer to it and still had to beat it to death until it stopped. Now I just replace them every year-the whole thing. I never told the neighbor it was my smoke detector as neither one of us could figure out where the alarm was coming from and I woke him up pretty early. If I was still living there I would tell him and I'm sure it would give him a laugh, not so that morning. Some of them are disposable or have backup batteries when they are hard wired in and if they go bad the are hard to shut them up!
- Q: whoa there, i think that speed bump was an old lady.
- Burns (from hot pan/flame/oil.) . Wear oven gloves/gauntlets Fire (flame + oil) . Don't leave pan unattended, have a fire blanket to hand. Eye injury? (popping corns) . Wear goggles.
- Q: What color are active fire hydrants?
- A working furnace fan is necessary to the livability and safety of all rental units. It must be replaced as soon as reasonable (meaning as quickly as a furnace repair company can do it). Without an operating furnace fan, your rental unit do not meet state standards for Tenant Land Lord laws in all 50 states. The furnace fan is necessary to prevent the furnace combustion chamber from overheating and starting a fire. The fan comes on and blows the heat away from the combustion chamber while the flame is on. When the thermostat tells the heater to extinguish the flame, the fan continues to run for a short time to insure the heat has been blown away from the combustion chamber. The fan is controlled by a thermostat in another room. If heat is not being blown into the other room, the thermostat will keep the furnace heating all the time. The heat will build up and a house fire will result.
- Q: I have a series of smoke detectors Battery and mains-one is broken should I replace all?
- Have a bon fire and hot dogs. Everyone bring their own blanket or chair. Have your music maybe some fireworks. Happy BD!!!
- Q: I get that the rotation of the moon is today locked to its orbital motion around earth, but is it because of the earth or suns mass, or because the more has an elliptical orbit, or what. I don't get why this is..
- lol i love star trek lol Bone Crusher roflol star trek gospel? i love star trek, but i don?t get what you are saying, sure is funny though :)
- Q: What maintenance do you normally do to the rubber roof found on today's motor homes? I read conflicting views on the cleaners and treatments and would greatly appreciate some of your experiences both good and bad. The roof material is EPDM and the motor home is 3 years old. It will be stored under cover but in the freezing weather of Alaska. Anything special that should be noted? Thanks.
- The last thing I want is some redneck firing blanket of bullets . Most that would do that are bad shots. The rest of us have more sense.
- Q: I live in a college dorm and love using wax warmers to make the place smell nice. The one I have is ceramic and is lit by a small light bulb. Not entirely sure if there's anything in our rule books about these things, but I know that we're not allowed to have candles or incense. Just curious as to whether or not I should plug it in. Thanks!
- I live in Indiana, and always had studded snow tires when I had rear-wheel-drive. With front-wheel drive, good winter or even all-season tires will probably do just fine.
- Q: Looking for ideas for a formal outdoor fire pit and patio. Years ago my husband and I built a 25' x 25' stone patio with a sunken firepit in the middle (back yard). We loved that thing. We've now been in our new house for 8 years, and I want to build another one, approximately the same size - only thing different, is that we want the 'pit' to be above ground this time.Would like ideas on types of stone, layout, seating, landscaping around the area etc. You guys are great. Thanks.
- This is not safe to do as asbestos is illegal to use in many countries due to the potential cancer risk from asbestos fibres. Then it depends what caused the fire .. if water, it may not work, if air or oxgygen then it will suffocate it and put it out.
- Q: Hi All, Just seeking some advice for a project that I'm helping the kids I childmind with. They've been given a project for their school science fair that involves coming up with a model automatic fire sprinkler that releases about a cupful of water on to a small can of burning waste paper, placed in the centre of a cardboard box (representing a building). We've played around with several ideas (e.g. balloon stretched over the mouth of a water bottle full of water and suspended from the roof, and a closed plastic tube of water leading from a siphon, running along the roof). When we tried them, though, the water on the other side of the plastic / rubber stopped them from melting and the water just stayed put. If anyone has any suggestions, we'd all be really grateful - we've incinerated too many box houses already! Thanks so much for your time. x
- Probably. If the boy has a father he should be talking with your neighbor. He should make it clear that if he catches your neighbor taping your son, the video camera will be shoved up his a$$.
