Q:Apparently the former owners of our mobile home had a problem with something underneath the trailer (leaky faucets, etc) and tore out the support from underneath the garden tub in the master-bath. I noticed what looked like a hair one day while cleaning the tub and realized that it was not a hair it was a crack!! The crack is only about an inch long and is still fitted together, so I don't think it leaks much at all, unless one side or the other gets pushed down. It's definitely not a gaping hole or anything and we do still use the tub, though we are careful to stay away from the crack, which is in the very bottom, about 4 inches from the drain.We are planning on going under the trailer this summer to quot;shorequot; things back up, but I need to know if there is any way to fix the crack without having to replace the whole tub. There is no way we can afford that..

hi. i had this same problem. i tried the crack fixers that are on the market, none of them worked. the problem is caused by a breakdown of the support system that is under your tub (usually some type of styrofoam footing), so the crack will reoccur. i'm relatively certain that you will have some water damage to the wood that is under there also. the easiest thing to do is to just replace the tub, its not that hard to do (i did it in a day) which will give you piece of mind. i think the total cost of the repair was about $200.

Q:I have a little home garden not too big, n i want to grow some beautiful flowers in it. specially roses.. what to do ? what is the proceedure?

Go to a gardening store, and ask them what type of rose is hardiest in your area. I have wild roses at my house, and although I do not have a green thumb, they survive. We even moved them with us in our last move. Also, the gardening store should be able to give you specific advise on care.

Q:Hi, i have a 17 week old labrador. he has made incredibly progress in the 7 weeks that we have had him but there is a problem with him. he will listen perfectly to commands like come and sit indoor or in the garden but as soon as there are no walls around him he looses it. even if he is on the leash he will simply not listen when he is called, told to stop biting things ect.is it because he is still young and the bigger world is far more interesting for him and he will get better as he gets older or am i doing something wrong? thanks.

no he just probaly needs more time keep practicing puppys cant get it on the first time but e also probaly wants to explore he will learn as he gets older just be patiant with him

Q:I have since lost all the screws/bolts and other parts related to mounting a TV, and while I still have the bracket and all the hardware, I'm missing the stuff to connect them together.Does anyone know where I can get the replacement parts?

Take what you have to Lowes or Home Depot, along with instructions. See if you can print manual if you don't have it.Sometimes the manual will show actual size and how many screws are needed. Lowes and Home Depot have open stock of screws and they can try assorted sizes until they find the right ones needed.

Q:home & garden. Is it ok to use lawn grass clippings as mulch in a vegetable garden?

Grass clippings are all I use in my vegetable garden. I add them throughout the summer and they compost in place. My soil is terrific, with very little effort. Just make sure that you don't turn green clippings in to your soil as that depletes available nitrogen. Once they're dry it's fine. I have a very weedy lawn but haven't had much trouble with weeds in the garden at all. Straw does work great too but the years that I used hay I was overrun with clover. Between that and the fact that grass clippings are free it was a clear choice for me!

I'm not sure what kind of furnishing your referring to, but I can tell you about a super place called Rubberecycle- They do things for gardening and in general the outdoors. I used them and they did a great job on my front lawn. Another place I used - for the inside, specifically for my kitchen, called Tiger Chef- they basically have everything for your kitchen- real fun place to shop. Plus they have amazing prices! Q:Although chipmunks are cute and fun to watch, they can be very destructive with their underground tunnels. My neighbor's brick paver patio is caving in because of this. My garden is full of holes because they like digging out my tulip bulbs. They gnaw on them a bit and then leave them in the sun to die. Is there something I can put on the bulbs when I plant them so that the chipmunks will leave them alone? Is there something I can put in my garden that will keep the chipmunks out? My neighbor has tried several things without success including baby powder with cayene pepper. The chipmunks are also destructive if they get trapped. Last year, one got trapped in my garage and damaged the weather stripping on the bottom of the door in an attempt to get out. Is there anything that I can put down that won't harm them but will keep them away?

My son gave me the Better Homes and Garden's 3D Garden and Deck Planner several years ago that I enjoyed every winter since then. I'm sure what's available now is even nicer, but this came with an encyclopedia of plants of all kinds, with information for each plan about how big it gets, what kind of light and water it needs, etc. You map out your yard and can put your house, fences, driveway, etc. You drop plants in from the overhead view, and then you get to take a virtual walk through it in a 3D view. You can also go at it another way, starting with a photo of certain areas of the yard, and then add plants to the foreground. Lots of fun. I lovely backyard that is all dirt... Sounds like a perfect place to find a corner to compost in for starters. Have fun.
