- Q: from time to time i move the small plants/roses within my home garden but unfortunately i lose few .
- Make sure you water your plants thoroughly a few days before planting so when you transplant, the soil sticks to the roots. For bushes like blueberries, I dig around the bush long before I transplant them. This way, they start forming new roots even before they are transplanted. Keep your bushes watered. Have your new planting hole dug before you dig up your plant. Then immediately upon digging up the plant...transfer it into its new home. Make sure you thoroughly water the newly transplanted plants ...and don't allow them to dry out while they're getting established. Transplant when it's cooler in the evening , if necessary, provide some temporary shade, so they're not adversely affected by too much sun. Good Luck! Hope this is helpful.
- Q: My husband bought me the 14th limited edition Better Homes and Gardens book... and I've had alot of recipes not taste great. I have to alter them alot and then they're okay (FYI- I cook great, it's not me, its the recipes). Also I've found alot of errors with the index and page numbers. I was just wondering if Betty Crocker makes a better cookbook and if there's a better variety. I know the BHG is huge, but it really doesn't seem like there's a lot of desserts or cookies, and I LOVE cooking.Let me know what you think, and if you can recommend a specific book that would be great too!

- Q: There are a lot of little projects that I would like to do in my home. It was my mother-in-law's home so I would be able to know the history going back 30 years. How should I prioritize the following projects (especially if we plan on living in the home between 5-10 years)?-9 Replacement Windows (currently very drafty single-pane, wood frames) -A friend mentioned that the home's insulation may be shot (not sure) would this be a better investment than windows?-Bathroom (sq. footage unknown but not very large, I would say 8ftx6ft space includes sink/tub/toilet small built-in cabinet)-Kitchen (again, sq. footage unknown but cabinets are 30+ years old and there are only 3 lower cabinets, 2 small drawers and very little counter space)-Landscaping
- Do you know a Realtor that you can ask to look at the house? Is you do, I would ask them for advice. They are actually very good at determining which projects can't wait and which will do the most good. Personally, I put landscaping at the BOTTOM of the priority list. I would have to see the home to rank the other projects, but replacing single pane windows would be near the top.
- Q: well most of my question is up top but im a 13 year old boy and i have bin itrsested in egineering for a while and im probly going to college for that any way my dad said a couple days ago that when he was a kid him and his uncle built a chainsaw engine go cart so i want to build one to i havent bin able to any body selling a motor at gerage sales or in my family and theres nothing in my gerage or shed so how much would it cost to buy all of my parts i need for it i know it will take a long time to save up for it so figured i would bye the parts one bye one and put them on and i would by the motor first so if any one could estimate how much it would cost for every part and a cheep 6 hp engine online thats not ebay that would be great oh and reel answers
- basically like with any motorized motor vehicle there are numerous factors to contemplate.... - finished weight of motor vehicle with passenger(s) - Gearing - Torque (this is quite a extra perfect thank you to gauge an engines power) - Rolling resistance - Aerodynamics So, given your information this is no longer particularly obtainable to confirm.
- Q: i have a water garden that has running water like a river and there's moss??? how did the moss get there?
- Moss grows in moist environments. If a seed was somehow carried over, or already there, it would grow near the river.
- Q: i have bugs cutting into my leaves of the plants on my garden is there a cheep home remedy to get rid of them?
- assuming you have a garden sprayer, the oldest remedy for plant bugs is a simple soap solution - you can add to it if you wish, a drop or two of essential oils - lavender and citronella are favourite. If you grow rhubarb, the leaves can also be made into an insecticidal spray.
- Q: were they do a sort of quot;chess gardenquot; were instead of chess pieces they have black and white river stones,i am doing the same design on my house, but there are a few instructions missing, like i need to know what is mean to go under the stones , like a protective covering, these things prove viatal, for this is a gift for my father as he does not know of my doings for this gifts!!thank you , your help is infact, much apreciated!!!
- i did some searches on hgtv and on diy and couldn't find anything about a chess garden with river stones. the product you are looking for to put under the river stones is called landscape fabric. it keeps weed from growing up thru the stones but allows water to drain thru. if you have other questions you can e-mail me. good luck.
- Q: From which site can i get so many pictures for home decorating(ofcourse free!)?
- I okorder
- Q: I have a ground floor studio flat (999 years, share of freehold) which has exclusive use of the garden - a side gate to both the studio and the garden (about 40x40 feet) ensures this. The studio is at the rear of the house and adjoins the garden. There is a garden hut in the corner of the garden.I am thinking that a far more ambitious structure in the garden - such as a home office say 15x10 feet - would greatly expand the amenity of the studio. How likely would I be to secure permission to build - both from the local authoriity (Eastbourne) and from the other freeholders? Or do I even need permission?
- if you are making it an office then it becomes commercial ..you need planning ...and you can bet there is a covenance to protect the other tenants .. nsult a solicitor

- ^Giant mousie! Giant mousie! No, silly. Wait until they are walking to the door and club them to death with a baseball bat. It's more effective and more satisfying.
